This Weekend
Last weekend we saw highs of 69 Sat. and 74 Sunday. For the first weekend in November those temps are just awesome, and it came during an unbelievable stretch of weather last week. Well, Ida provided a break from the nice weather and brought flooding to the area (more on that coming up). Now, the nice weather is setting back up. We hit 72 yesterday, and will do a couple degrees better than that today. Slightly warmer tomorrow. We keep talking about it, but it's worth noting: This is the October weather we missed last month with all the rain and cooler temps. Yes, the colder air will be here by late month or into next month, but not within the next 10 days or so. Enjoy it while it's here.
Wrapping Ida
There were two scenarios that we were looking at last weekend for Ida. One would have a cold front sweep through early Tuesday, picking up the storm and pushing it northeast quickly, leaving us with maybe 1-2" at most, some spots seeing less than that. The other, which played out, would have the front hold off for a day before sweeping everything out. That started around 1am or so Wednesday morning. By that point, though, we had picked up a solid 3-5" around the area (impressive that that was the rainfall mentioned in the flood watch by the weather service as early as Sunday evening. It played out just like that, so a big shout out to the weather service.) We saw several rivers go into minor and moderate flood stage, but a far cry from what we saw in September. The good news for North GA - the worst of the storm happened well to our east through parts of the Carolinas and up the Mid-Atlantic, leading to 6 fatalaties and close to a foot of rain in spots along the Atlantic Coast. The good news for us here is that even though we had 3-5" of rain, it happened very slowly over a longer period of time. This allowed most of the rain to soak into the ground before running off, helping to lower the flash flooding and river flooding threat.
The Next Rain
Our next chance of rain may not roll in until late week. A very slow moving system looked to be rolling in by mid-week when Ken and I looked at everything yesterday. But this morning I'm not sold yet, so I really think the chance of rain won't work in until Friday. So, 2 pieces of good news. After all the rain on Tuesday, we'll have at least 6 more days to dry out. Secondly, the rain that we'll see should be very light as the system should be falling apart and pulling north as it works it. We'll see how it plays out. Have a good weekend.

JERUSALEM – Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign for the Democrat nomination deliberately appealed to white supremacy, fear and anxiety, charged longtime Barack Obama colleague and Weatherman terrorist William Ayers and wife, Bernardine Dohrn.
In a co-authored article in the socialist Monthly Review magazine, the two radicals argued last year's national elections had "racist" undertones and that President Obama's ascent to power can be used to "build a new society."
"[Hillary] Clinton flagrantly appealed to white voters' identity as 'workers' or 'women' – offering white people any reason to vote against Obama without saying he's black – and followed the ancient and dismal road of racial discourse that appeals to white supremacy, fear and anxiety," wrote Ayers and Dohrn.
The two referenced a New York Times opinion piece by feminist activist Gloria Steinem, "Women are Never Front-Runners," written on the eve of the New Hampshire primary. Steinem argued the gender barrier had not yet been broken and asked, "Why is the sex barrier not taken as seriously as the racial one?"
Ayers and Dohrn charged Steinem had asserted a "superior victim status on the part of white, powerful women."
"The invisible race talk was about 'blue collar' or 'working class' or 'mainstream' or 'small town' or 'hockey mom' or 'Joe the plumber,' but we were meant to think 'white,'" they wrote.
Continued Ayers and Dohrn: "All the talk of Senator Barack Obama's exotic background, all the references to him as 'unknown, 'untested,' a 'stranger,' or a 'symbolic candidate,' or 'alien,' a 'wildcard,"'or an 'elitist.' ... The discourse was all about race, us and them, understood by everyone in the United States even when the words African American, black or white are not spoken."
The couple, however, took pride in Obama's win.
They said Obama's presidency "calls for us to have to agitate for democracy and egalitarianism, press harder for human rights, link the demands that animate us, and learn to build a new society through our collective self-transformations and our limited everyday struggles.
"We must seek ways to live sustainably; to stop the addiction to consumption and development and military power; to become real actors and authentic subjects in our own history," they wrote.
The two added, "Now their experience can be put to use mobilizing those same people to insist on the changes they imagined."
Ayers became a name in last year's presidential campaign when it was disclosed the radical worked closely with Obama for years.
Ayers, and his wife, Dohrn, were two of the main founders of the Weather Underground, which bombed the New York City Police headquarters in 1970, the Capitol in 1971 and the Pentagon in 1972. The group was responsible for some 30 bombings aimed at destroying the defense and security infrastructures of the U.S.
Characterizing Weathermen as "an American Red Army," Ayers summed up the organization's ideology: "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents."
"Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon," Ayers recalled in his 2001 memoir, "Fugitive Days." "The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them."
Ayers brandished his unrepentant radicalism for years to come, as evidenced by his now notorious 2001 interview with the New York Times, published one day after the 9/11 attacks, in which he stated, "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."
Ayers posed for a photograph accompanying the New York Times piece that showed him stepping on an American flag. He said of the U.S.: "What a country. It makes me want to puke."
Ayers and Dohrn helped launch Obama's political career with a fundraiser in their home. WND columnist Jack Cashill has produced a series of persuasive arguments that it was Ayers who ghost-wrote Obama's award-winning autobiography, "Dreams from My Father."

Ok for years we were in a severe drought as we all know and we would pray for rain. For years rain would show up on radar and inch closer and closer to the metro Atlanta area and then poof as soon as it got close to us it would evaporate. Our grass was brown our clay was turning into cement and we even beagn to wonder if we would have water at all if things continued.......
Fast forward to today. When there is a possibilty of rain with in a 100 miles it rains in Atlanta. Not one of those rains for 1-30 minutes and then moves on type storms. No we get the rains for 10 hours straight with periods of heavy and light but a constant rain. The should we build an ark every time it rains we have to watch for flood type rains.
So we went from doom and gloom no water, no planting, no watering your grass to full lakes, no one needs to water grass because the yard stays wet from rain, to water in the basement...........my question is who turned on the rain?

We have the usual suspects: Thriller & Ghostbusters are the two standards. But, we need some more. We've added such classics as Bad Moon Rising by CCR, Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party (Made more famous by its appearance in Rodney Dangerfield's Back to School. Classic movie, maybe I'll blog about that later) and Fresh Prince's Nightmare on My Street. So, I toss to the masses out there. Have any ideas. We lived in California during the winters of 2007 and 2008. We became addicted to Fox News and watched O’Reilly and Hannity and Colmes every night. When we got back home, we upgraded our cable to get Fox. I watched the Presidential campaign very closely. Initially, because I thought the Democrats would nominate Hillary Clinton and then in astonishment when they chose an even more hard-left candidate. All of last year I told everyone I could that Obama was not a Democrat, he is a Marxist. He is far to the left of any European leader and even our far left party, the NDP.
I read Saul Alinsky when I was in the University. I studied him and his writing carefully. When Bill Ayers and his idiot wife were bombing and killing people at random in the Weather Underground, the Weather Underground and the Black Panthers were closely allied. I read David Horowitz’s account of changing from a Marxist to a conservative after seeing that the government was afraid to prosecute members of the Panthers for murdering his personal assistant. He suddenly understood the evil that Marxism really was.
After the student radicals failed in creating a Marxist revolution in the United States by violent means, they embraced Alinsky. You would be wise to read “Rules for Radicals” because it outlines how Hillary and Obama planned to get into power, and what they intended to do when they got it.
Socialism is not the correct description for what Obama and the Democrats are doing. They are going to be much more far reaching than anything Sweden has ever been able to do. Obama is following Alinsky’s plans, those set out in “Rules for Radicals” and his other writing. The Democrats are attempting to create one party rule in the U.S. And in achieving that, will create crisis after crisis by their own actions and use those crisis to nationalize the means of production in the U.S. We are in the middle of a communist revolution and few in the U.S. can actually see it for what it truly is.
The U.S. is now on the path of financial destruction. The Constitution has been shredded and individual human rights are being trampled. In less than 8 months. Obama has used a recession to take over the two largest industries in the U.S. He will debase the Dollar and is on the road to creating an incredible energy shortage that will allow him and Congress to take over the energy industry.
But by and large I think that by the 2010 elections, the Democrats will have gerrymandered electoral districts to the point that it will be impossible for them to lose control of both houses of Congress. The incredible increase in the money supply is going to create Zimbabwe and Venezuela style inflation, and with it, controls on the currency and the amount of money that can be taken out of the country.
I love America , I cannot believe how the ignorance of the American public has created a situation whereby they are going to lose their Republic and slip into an age of repression and tyranny.
I may be nuts, but so far I have been 100% in my predictions of what Obama was going to do, because I merely had to look at “Rules for Radicals” to see what was coming next.
I read Glenn Beck’s book, “Common Sense” and in it re-read Thomas Paines pamphlet with the same name. I recommend the book.
When the storm finally hits (and it will), those of you who supported the Obama administration will be affected as well. It won’t just be us gun owners or Flat-Taxers, or Pro-Lifers that get hit. You’ll be right there next to us.
You all thought the Conservatives were nut cases. You know, all of us who believe in God, small government, the Second Amendment, etc. You thought you could just go back to sleep after the election was over. In your world, America will continue as before. You’ll still have the same rights, the same nice house, the same big screen television. After all, your high school football team won and the other team lost – go team! Even if you have bothered to look up from the daily grind since Nov 4th, you dismissed everything that has occurred as “politics as usual–the same old stuff”.
In the end, it’ll all be OK won’t it? Not this time.
There are a growing number of citizens in the US that are ready to fight to shut down the government’s grab of personal freedom, it’s blatant abuse of the constitution, and it’s attempt to replace the American way of life with socialism/communism. You have to listen carefully to hear them, but they are there. I won’t start that fight, but when it goes down I will join it.
As for you, why, you’ll be shocked because you didn’t see it coming. And eventually you’ll be saddened when you see that we have truly lost the way of life with which you grew up. You’ll be saddened that your children and grandchildren live in a socialist/communist, government-controlled gulag where their every movement from cradle to grave is tracked by the government. But most of all, you’ll be saddened by the death of friends and relatives who are brave enough to fight and die for something they believe in.
You know, McCain wasn’t much of a candidate. I’ll give you that. He was the lesser of two evils for most of us. I don’t blame you for not voting for him since, at the time, you didn’t know what we all know now. But at least John McCain was an American. He was a supporter of the American way o f life and he understood that you can’t negotiate with terrorists. He understood and appreciated the sacrifice made by my father and other members of the Greatest Generation.
Mark my words friends. All across America groups are forming. They are forming out of anger and out of desperation at the thought of losing America . They’re not militia groups or terrorists as the Department of Homeland security would have you believe; they are Americans, loyal to the constitution. They are mothers and fathers and grandparents. They belong to groups like the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, the Peaceful Resistance, the Constitution Party, the Young Conservatives, the 9/12 Project, and Grassfire. Right now they are fragmented, each focused on their own cause. But sometime in the next two years, our government is going to do something really stupid and these groups will come together. Watch for it, wait for it–get ready. It will happen.
When that event happens, whatever “it” is, our great country is going to plunge into chaos for a while. I pray to God that we make it through that time and emerge a stronger, smarter country.

But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?' 'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,' the meteorologist at the weather service responded.
So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?' 'Yes,' the man at the weather service again replied, 'it's going to be a very cold winter.' The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.
Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you positive that the winter is going to be very cold?'

Im burned out tired and sick at heart and in my soul at the stupidity and down right communist way this nation is going. This week the senate will vote on the healthcare bill and most likely pass it and Im willing to bet most of us dont know the ramafications that the bill will have on us and our way of life and even weather we live or not and surely how long we live! I look at people in the mall shopping like as if we had a future as a nation.

Don’t tailgate (worth saying twice, in case you are as stupid as I suspect.)
Use your damn turn signal. It’s that little lever on the left hand side of your steering wheel.
Don’t exceed the average speed of traffic by 20 - 30 MPH. It isn’t a damn race.
Don’t jump lane to lane so you can exceed the speed limit by 20 – 30 MPH. If you do, you are a moron.
If you insist that this is the way you have to drive, then I hope when I see the pile of mangled steel along the roadside, it is your lame ass on the bottom, bleeding to death, not the innocent person you slammed into.

Tell me what does the representation of an earthquake mean? Why does the earth shake? can we really give a meaning and representation of an earthquake. Yes, I know about the plates of the earth. But, why we have earthquakes?
After an earthquake, we have sonamis? Why we have sonomis? The technology that we have can inform us when an earthquake will occur and when a sonomi will form. Advancing in technology, we can fortell the future to save lives to live a long age. Can this be true or false?
Mentioning earthquakes, we have severe thunderstorms,:why is there thunder and what makes it clasp? What does lightening represent? Do we have someone talking to us but yet we do not understand the mutteri,ng? When thunderstorms appear, are we being chastised? Does lightening represents destruction?
Well, I know about the protons and neutrons which are in the clouds that causes bad weather, such as ligthening. I know about the warm front and cold front along with humidity and moisture that can caused the clasp of thunder and cloud building. However, what does the weather signifies? Tornadoes which is caused by strong cold front clashing with warm front. what does a tornado signifies?
Our weather we will never understand. But yet we have some technology to fortell weather events that can occur, but yet it cannot really be foretold. Wow, The weather is complex. In the meantime, we have to be alert for all weather patterns. We can not take weather for granted.
