Description:
Sri Atharva Soolini Durga at Hindu Temple of Georgia
Sri Soolini Durga is the wife of Sri.Sarabeswara. She is another form of Goddess Parasakthi. There are three shapes for each and every deity. They are Santham, Ugram and Maha ugram. It means calm, fearsome and the most fearsome. SriMeenakshi, Sri Kamakshi are the examples for calm poses of Goddess Parasakthi. Sri.Durga is the example for Ugram and Sri Soolini Durga and Prathyangira Devi are the examples for the most fearsome poses. When we need the motherly affection we have to pray the Santha shapes. To get rid of moderate troubles we have to pray ugra shapes as Sri.Durga. To solve the sever problems we face in our day to day life we have to pray the Maha ugram poses. Atharva Veda is the only Veda, which deals with the healing part. It explains in detail about the different methods of prayers and rituals to get rid of our problems. Sri.Soolini Durga plays a vital role in solving the problems faced by each and every body. Sri.Soolini Durga Hrudayam, a part of Atharva Veda and an old palm script compiled by a great monk, “Prapancha sara sara Sangraham” tells in detail about Sri.Soolini Durga. According to those wonderful writings, we will see about Sri.Soolini Durga.
Lord Mahavishnu took the most fearsome pose Narasimha and came out of the pillar, caught the demon took him to the entrance and killed him. Narasimma’s anger was very severe. Nobody could control his anger. So. All prayed Lord Shiva to control the anger of Narasimma. Lord Shiva also took a fearsome pose called Sarabeswara. He had two feathers. He controlled the anger of Narasimma and made him cool. Lord Sarabeswara had two wings. One wing is Sri PrathyangiraDevi and another wing is Sri.Soolini Durga. Prathyangira Devi and Soolini Durga are the most fearsome poses of Goddess Parasakthi.Prathyangira Devi is called as Atharvana Badrakali and Sri.Soolini Durga is called, as Atharvan Rudrakali. She is the mother of all.
What do we get from Sri.Soolini Durga? She is the rescuer from enemies. She secures all the wealth and assets. She helps us to come across all enemies. She cures the mind and physic. She blesses us with good children. She gives a lot of knowledge and wisdom. Whenever we call her she comes instantly to support us. It is very hard to go near her. If we go near her it is sure that we will come out of all our troubles. The ways and methods of rituals to get rid of various problems. To have good kids, those who need the kids should eat the rice offered to her everyday for a period of at least 48 days. It is very sure that they will get good kids. To get rid of the mind related troubles “Panakam” (sweet water prepared with sugar candy and dried ginger) is to be offered to her and the offered sweet water is to be drunk by the person having mental troubles. To get rid of the enemies we have to light the lamp with mustard oil. To get rid of the evil spirits we have to offer her butter. She likes the offerings much and blesses her devotees with their ambitions fulfilled.
The method of Prayers.
Daily the minimum Abishegam(holy bathe) to be performed with water and milk. By having this holy bathe, she becomes cool and blesses the devotees with cool lifestyle. When one is affected by fearsome diseases like small pox and chicken pox we have to bathe the deity with water and tender coconut water. The patient should intake a small quantity of water and tender coconut water poured on the image. Within a span of twelve days, the patient will be cured. She cures the different kinds of fever. Fever means not only the hike of temperature in the physical body. It refers to the heat in the mind and poverty. She easily removes these kinds of things. We have another trouble. It is called a Dhrushti or bad eyes or najar. This is the worst one. By praying Sri Soolini Durga on Tuesdays and Fridays with the offering of lemon, we can easily come across the thing. We face a lot of problems caused by the nine planets. The invisible planets crate a lot of things in this visible world. She cures the ailments caused by the nine planets. She is called as “Aavesa Graha samharyai Namaha”.She cures all kind of physical and mind related problems. She is called as “Vyaadhi Naasini”. The word “Vyadhi” means problems caused by the unseen forces. By praying her she removes all kinds of problems. She is called as the best blessing deity. Today we are facing legal litigation and we spend a lot of money to pay the attorneys. Sri Soolini Durga is the best attorney to settle all the problems. She is said as “Vivadha Samani”. To get rid of the legal problems, one should light nine lamps with mustard oil and red color wick for nine Tuesdays. By doing that, she becomes very happy and settles all the problems in a very smooth way. Another problem we face is “defame”. She is known as “Apavaatha Haraa”.To get rid of this problem on has to light eleven lamps with mustard oil and red color wick along with the offering of citrus fruits like orange and lemon. By this offering, she becomes very happy and solves the problem. Another problem is black magic and evil spirits’ problem. To solve this problem one should perform “Sri Atharva Soolini Maha mantra Japa and Homa” consecutively for 6 Sundays during the time of Raaghu Kaalam roughly between 4.30 pm to 6.00pm. The offering through fire should be dry red chilies dipped in honey. The food to be offered is unsalted urad dhal vada, honey and fruits. By this, the Goddess becomes happy and solves the problem in wonderful way. This wonderful Devatha also solves many other problems not listed here. The Most Important and Easiest way to get the blessings of Sri.Soolini Durga.
Tuesday, Friday and Sunday are the important days to pray Sri Soolini Durga. All can come to the Temple and light lamps with wick and mustard oil, which is the best minimum prayer for Sri Soolini Durga. That too particularly Raaghu kalam on these three days approximately 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm, 10.30am to 12.00noon and 04.30 to 06.00pm are the best timings to light the lamp with mustard oil lamp. MANTRA HEALING BY SWAMIJI SRI
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
A widely known saying from the Vedas states that "Speech is the essence of humanity." All of what humanity thinks and ultimately becomes is determined by the expression of ideas and actions through speech and its derivative, writing. Speech brings everything to life. Ideas remain unactualized until they are brought to life through the power of speech.
Similarly, The New Testament, Gospel of John, starts "In the beginning was The Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God..."
In mainstream Vedic practices, most Buddhist techniques and classical Hinduism, mantra is viewed as a necessity for spiritual advancement and high attainment. In The Kalachakra Tantra, by the Dalai Lama and Jeffrey Hopkins, the Dalai Lama states, "Therefore, without depending upon mantra...Buddhahood cannot be attained."
Clearly, there is a reason why such widely divergent sources of wisdom as the Vedas, the New Testament and the Dalai Lama speak of common ideas. Here are some important ideas about mantra which will enable you to begin a practical understanding of what mantra is and what it can do.
We know for a fact that every entity in the universe is composed of energy. Every syllable of a word that is let out by us is a carrier of energy and can be used to tap other specific forms of energy in the atmosphere. Mantras are incantations hailing the Gods thereby stimulating the necessary energy flow. This is mentioned in the following shloka:
Daivadheenam Jagatsarvam Mantradheenamtu Daivatam
Meaning that, the whole universe is ruled by the Devas and the Devas are under the power of Mantras.
The deities are also a part of this energy world, Shiva being the supreme source conscious form and Shakti of energy form. Different energy forms called the Panchabhootas include, the ether element, the air, water, fire and the earth element. The existence of these elements in the human body and as well as in the atmosphere facilitates the interaction of energy between them.
Malfunctioning of the body system is caused by disproportionate energy levels in the system. Each organ has its own consciousness, and is capable of emanating and absorbing a certain amount of energy. Impropriety in this process (of radiation and absorption) can lead to abnormal activity of the organ or the organ system and can manifest as a disease.
But the dysfunctional can be healed with the power of Mantras.
The curative power of mantras is not restricted to the domain of physical illness though. It can also be extended to psychological, materialistic and spiritual deficits but it is of paramount importance that all barriers in the patient's mind must be removed to enhance mental receptivity, that the patient must believe that mantras can help him.

SWAMIJI SRI SRI SELVAM SIDDHAR

Description:
ONE RELIGION IS AS TRUE AS ANOTHER
The great penance will give you peace and contentment will come with ease. Your great ailment is your own desire and your religion bears kindness attire “Why should I follow any religion at all? “Where am I led by it” These questions are tormenting your thoughts for a long time But the answer is very simple. Follow the path of humanism. It is religion.
You may be practicing it for a long time. You have been adopting humanism as your way of life. Why should you identify with a religion then? It has actually been thrust on you by your parents and fore fathers. It has the significance of your history heritage and culture.
You may find after close observation of the historical evidences all around him that there had to be a “Great Being from whom all things in the world came into existence. You owe your homage to Him. This thought has been the origin of God and religion.
Religion a great scholar points out is a unique institution. All other institutions can be traced back to the animal needs of man and to his physical characteristics. All social organizations based on physical acts of sex, infancy and life in groups. It is how ever, difficult to ascertain the basis of religion in animal life. Thus, religion has become a part of man’s culture. It is a body of attitudes ideas and techniques where by man explains and adjusts to the unknown, the mysterious and the mighty. By means of various elements of religion, man tries to achieve a harmonious relationships with his power. In fact, this thought provoked the great mughal emperor Akbar to establish a new religion during his reign. He attributed it’s name as “Din-Ilahi” It was actually a blend of all religions in the world during the 15th century. His tenets included a total harmony between man and man. It preached a humanism in character and behaviour It completely avoided rituals of any sort and concentration of dogmas. It expected man to live like an institution and to adjust himself to his environment.
But man’s belief of superstitious and mysterious powers, over shadowed the principle of oneness in man. “Dinilahi” had it’s silent death proving the words of chesterfield. “Religion is by no means a proper subject of conversation in a mixed company”. It actually had it’s origin in the court of the great, Mughal Emperor. It has it’s strength only in the discussion between the king and his courtiers the courtiers took part in the discussion only to please the King. But their lack of belief in the king’s direetive proved to be a disasterous offair in the growth of a religion, which can be considered very practical in this modern world. Another big thing in the fall of Dinilahi was due to the dead contrast between Hinduism and Islam’s aspects. When Hinduism accepts too many gods with too many names Islam accepts only “Allah” as the supreme power. In the soil Bharath, Hindusthan and presently India, Hinduism has been dominant ever since pre – historic times. Hindustan has no historical founder like Jesus Christ, Mohammed the prophet, the Buddha, Mahavira, Guru Nanak and Zoroaster. It is the belief that the Aryan invaders from Persia brought the Vedic scriptures and gave Hinduism it’s first trace.
Like the Bible, the holy scriptures of Vedas and the Upanishads, a latter derivation speak of the beginning there was no thing there was death, there was the soul, there was Brahman. Brahman is the divine power, the holy power of energy. From Brahman all works, all desires all sweet powers and tastes proceed. The Upanishads emphasis that in the beginning there was the atman or the soul alone. Then Brahman enters the soul and thus man appears in the Universe. Hence the soul is Brahman knowledge of this takes man beyond gods. In the Upanishads a wise man tells his son put some salt in water taste it in the next day. Taste it from the surface, from the middle and from the bottom. It is salt every – where, yet invisible. So it is with the one reality, which exists in the body, though you do not perceive it. That is reality that is the soul and you are that”.
In the later days, to make man involve in spiritual activities various rituals and idols were created by the seers who propogated the religious codes. Each one tried to have their own followers in the strict austerity. Because of the flexibility in the religions rites, other religions came into existence according to the convenience of man and his belief man started going against religion gradually, His belief in idol worship, superstitions and withchraft gave rise differences among his own class. He has forgotten that religion is a virtue. We act on faith, hope and love of God.
Thus, man created a barrier in his relationship between man and man. His religious beliefs for his personal gains and dominance scattered the valuable peace and harmony all over the world. Today man has forgotten the virtue of kindness. He has no faith in love. He fails to attempt right living. Thus, religion has resulted in sufferings and chaos all over the world. Giving his disciple grape juice, the Divine apostle of Christianity Jesus Christ said “This is my blood I drink it. It will go on being shed for getting mercy for the sinners untill human beings are redeemed “That was the time of his last supper. He used to say” you have only right to love. Love your neighbour as your self shun selfishness”. The Holy Bible and the New Testament stand on this belief firmly.
Hazrat Mohammed the prophet of Islam, showed new light to the world. He himself suffered but believed the humanity of the ills that it suffered from. He showed the way of mercy forgiveness and tolerance. Islam is a religion of peace. It is submission to the will of God. If emphasizes the existence of only one God. There is no idol worship. The Holy Book Quran says “Let there be no compulsion in religion A true Musalman Must be tolerant. Islam teaches that every religion is true. It is rather strange that the founder of Buddhism never tried to establish a new religion. Yet millions of people accepted to follow it. He tried only to suggest measures by which one could be rid of sufferings in the world. Buddhism accepted certain values of Hindu religion. The secret of the success of Buddhism as a world religion is that it advocated non – violence and place.
Vardhman Mahavira the founder of the Jainism, spread the message of non – violence, renunciation, kindness and good conduct. Like the Buddha, he believed that desire is the root cause for all sufferings. Both believed in non – violence. Mahavira followed a different style from Buddha in advocating his principles. He laid emphasis on rigorous penance and fasting.
The parsis the descendents of the Persians who fled the conquering armies of Islam in the 7th century have been the followers of Zoraster He set out to proclaim faith in one God and denounced idolatry and evil living. His teachings have been laid down in the holy book “Zendavesta”. The parsis consider three elements in the world sacred i.e: earth water and fire.
Sikhism is one of the latest world religions. It has its origin in the Punjab in the 15th century. Guru Nanak the founder of the Sikh religion has mingled the practices of the Hindu and the Muslim. That is worshipping the All – mighty five times a day. Their Holy Book is AdiGranth, which is in the form of songs and hymns.
Sikhism has many links with Hinduism in the practice of birth marriage, funerals. To sum up all religions have only one goal. Follow the principles of peace, kindness, love and Mercy. These can be the ideal force to lead man for his well being only in such a society humanism can exist.

Atharva Vedic Silence Therapy By Swamiji Param Pujya
Sri Sri Selvam “Siddhar”
Silence holds the key to opening doors to a wholesome life, ultimate liberation and attainment of happiness. It uplifts our visions, our concepts, our way of thinking, feeling and how we act in our world. Silence is the tool which helps us know and experience fully who we are and what our purpose in life is. Silence offers the way to complete liberation for body, mind and soul. The appreciation for silence replaces the need for addictive thoughts and activities. When we love silence, there is no reason to run away from our thoughts and fears. The practice of silence brings unspeakable peace.
Speech is the biggest consumer of our energy; it depletes the oxygen in our body and mind and causes energy burnout. This is turn causes the mind to overheat, which leads us to become angry, impatient etc and hence we are unable to think or act calmly, coolly or rationally.
Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam recommends the practice of silence in his workshops and seminars. Only by participating in this silence therapy will you realize the benefits of it and the amount of energy you will gain from it.
There can be many other ways to communicate with each other without using speech, Swamiji believes that when two people meet it is possible to communicate in an energetic level because communication is not just only by speech, but by synchronizing energy levels you can also communicate. Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam does much work with energy and believes we can synchronies our energy more in silence rather then through speech.
Also he feels why we can’t develop other methods of communicating other then speech as he feels we loose so much of the essence of what we are trying to express through speech. Words can only ever give a limited interpretation of our real feeling; words will never grasp the real sentiments of feelings and emotions.
Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam believes healing energy flows more freely in silence
Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam has been practicing silence at a very young age. At the age of fourteen he spent three months alone in the jungle. Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam has spent many other periods in silence, anything from three or six months up to a year. Spending time in silence in both important and necessary for Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam to exist in this world.
Swamiji would like to express to people about his nature and his need for silence as a person, while traveling with his work or whether at home in the ashram he would encourage people to hug him or sit with him in silence from time to time. Swamiji would also like to express to people that he is extremely approachable and accessible if they would like to talk with and tell him their problems, he will listen and try to heal them.
Atharav vedic Sound therapy invented by Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar for harmonization and deep relaxation:-
The technique of sound therapy has its roots in Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound, as well as in Yoga Nidra, the deep relaxation of yoga. Since time immemorial, sounds of Indian stringed instruments have been applied for healing and harmonization.
In former times people have used stringed instruments for playing sacred music and as an accompaniment and assistance for the pujas (rituals), meditations and also for the yoga-asanas. And also today musicians in India are still invited to perform at rituals, healings and Yoga Nidra. In the course of our society's media development, the CD has replaced the quality of live music. But Indian music always emerges newly in every moment and is a transmission from heart to heart. The effects of sound therapy
Sound therapy contributes to the relaxation of tensions and blockades caused by stress. The getting down to a deep state of peaceful mind revitalizes and restores the self healing forces.
The sounds produce a tender massage reaching more or less deeply into the inner body. Selected tone scales (Ragas) of the Indian music tradition support the re-discovery of the basic harmonic condition of the mind. Using relaxation exercises at the beginning, the listener opens up for the nourishing and healing tones. The music leads to an extended self perception. It activates the inner experience and can help to discover a new access to one's own inner resources. All body organs and senses come to peace hardly found even asleep. Crucial for this deep relaxation is the experience of real live music, as only this way a true dialog between musician and audience can begin, while the musician is sensitively in accordance with the immediate experience of the listener.
The Rudra Veena
The Bin or Rudra Veena is a zither and belongs to the oldest classical instruments of India. According to traditional sayings Shiva has created it while he meditated on the beauty of his wife Parvati. The Rudra Veena is an early form of the popular Sitar and has been called the mother and queen of Indian strings. Rich in basses and overtones the Rudra Veena has been the ideal musical instrument to arouse a meditative condition of mind since centuries. Due to it's sound frequencies it is possible to resolve blockades very effectively in a quite easy manner.
The Sitar
The Sitar is a long-necked lute and was created 700 years ago from the well known musician Amir Khusru.
The instrument is a further development of the Persian Setar and the Indian Rudra Veena.
The Sitar has through many resonant strings a very fine and lyrical character.
The sound is suitable for heart openings and meditative concerts.
Also lot of other special music theraphy was invented by our Holiness Sri Selvam Siddhar. For more information reach Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam @ USA Toll Free 1-800-574 3427 OR E- MAIL avtemple@aol.comOur Supported websites

Description:
THE STORY OF WOODSMAN NAMED VISU
Many years ago there lived on the barren plain of suruga a woodsman by the name of Visu. He was a giant in stature and lived in a hut with his wife and children. One day Visu received a visit from an old priest, who said to him “Honorable woodsman I am afraid you never pray”.
Visu replied “If you had a wife and a large family to keep, you would never have time to pray”. This remark made the priest angry and the old man gave the wood cutter a vivid description of the horror of being reborn as a toad, or a mouse, or an insect for millions of years. Such lurid details were not to Visu’s liking and he accordingly promised the priest that in future he would pray. “Work and pray” said the priest as he took his departure. Unfortunately Visu did nothing but pray. He prayed all days long and refused to do any work so that his rice crops withered and his wife and family starved. Visu’s wife who had never said a harsh or bitter word to her husband, now became extremely angry, and pointing to the poor thin bodies of her children, she exclaimed “Rise Visu, take up your axe and do something more helpful to us all than the mere mumbling of prayers”. Visu was so utterly amazed at what his wife had said that it was some time before he could think of a fitting reply when he did so his words came hot and strong to the ears of his poor, much- wronged wife. “Woman” said he, “The Gods come first you are an impertinent creature to speak to me so, and I will have nothing more to do with you”. Visu snatched up his axe and without looking round to say farewell, he left the hut, strode out of the wood, and climbed up Fujiyama, where a mist hid him from sight. When Visu had seated himself upon the mountain he heard a soft rustling sound and immediately afterwards saw a fox dart into a thicket. Now Visu deemed it extremely lucky to see a fox and forgetting his prayers, he sprang up, and ran hither and thither in the hope of again finding this sharp nosed little creature. He was about to give up the chase when, coming to an open space in a wood, he saw two ladies sitting down by a brook playing go. The woodsman was so completely fascinated that he could do nothing but sit down and watch them. There was no sound except the soft click of pieces on the board and the song of the running brook. The ladies took no notice of Visu for they seemed to be playing a strange game that had no end, a game that entirely absorbed their attention. Visu could not keep his eyes off these fair women. He watched their long black hair and the little quick hands that shot out now and again from their big silk sleeves in order to move the pieces.
After he had been sitting there for three hundred years, though to him it was but a summer’s afternoon, he saw that one of the players had made a false move “Wrong, most lovely lady” he exclaimed excitedly. In a moment these women turned into foxes and ran away. When visu attempted to persue them, he found to his horror that his limbs were terribly stiff that his hair was very long and that his beard touched the ground. He discovered more over that the handle of his axe though made of the hardest wood had crumbled away into a little heap of dust. After many painful efforts Visu was able to stand on his feet and proceed very slowly toward his little home. When he reached the spot he was surprised to see no hut and perceiving a very old woman, he said “Good lady I am amazed to find that my little home was disappeared. I went away this afternoon and now in the evening it has vanished” The old woman, who believed that a mad man was addressing her, inquired his name when she was told she exclaimed. “Bah you must indeed be had Visu lived three hundred years ago! He went away one day and he never came back again” “Three hundred years” murmured Visu. It cannot be possible. Where are my dear wife and children? “Buried” hissed the old woman” and if what you say is true you children’s children too. The Gods have prolonged your miserable life in punishment for having neglected your wife and little children. Big tears ran down Visu’s withered cheeks as he said in a husky voice. “I have lost my manhood. I have prayed when my dear ones starved and needed the labor of my strong hands. Oh dear people, remember my last words. “If you pray, work too”. We do not know how long repentant Visu lived after he returned from his adventures.

I owned five houses. All of a sudden, I was driven to the worst situation of selling all of those houses. I approached Swamiji Siddhar to know the reasons and to stop selling the houses. He analyzed my horoscope and found the reasons for this. He also performed some rituals. By his powers, I got many helps from un-foreseen persons. By that the selling of the houses were avoided. I pledge my lifetime for the service of Swamiji Sri Siddhar and his magazine Siddhitimes.

I am a converted Christian. I converted myself into Christianity, as I had no opportunity to know about Hinduism and the rituals of Hinduism. On my trip to Atlanta, I went to the Hindu Temple of Georgia just as a pleasure trip. There I had an opportunity to meet Swamiji Siddhar. I was attracted by the lecture given by him. He explained me about Hinduism. He advised me a lot and he told me not to convert again from Christianity to Hinduism but to follow a spiritual life. I am enlightened by his speech and advice. I thank a lot to Swamiji for making me a spiritual man.

I am a Tamilian. No Tamilian in this world has done a great work like Swamiji Siddhar. Now I feel very proud to be in the community of Swamiji Siddhar. Even though I cannot donate a big amount of money as Swamiji, I offered 1/10th of my monthly salary to the holy and noble cause. I humbly requested Swamiji Siddhar to take money from me but he blessed me and refused to take money from me. This noble work moved my heart. I am ready to volunteer myself for the building works of the temple. Thanks to Swamiji for giving this opportunity.

COMMANDER SELVAM SIDDHAR ABOUT
- From: commanderselvam

Description:
Kids Corner
One day, Nasruddin came riding into town. The people stopped him to ask, "Why are you sitting back to front on your donkey?" He replied, "I know where I am going, I want to see where I have been." Later that evening, Nasruddin was cooking up some things. He went to his neighbor and asked for a pot and promised to return it the next day. A knock, knock came on the neighbor's door the next day. Nasruddin had come to return the pot. The neighbor looks at his pot and inside was one smaller. The neighbor said, "There is a small pot inside the one I loaned you." Nasruddin told him, "The pot gave birth." The neighbor was quite pleased to hear this and accepted the two pots. The very next morning, Nasruddin knocked on the neighbor's door to borrow a larger pot than the previous one. The neighbor happily abides the request. A week passed, without Nasruddin knocking to return the pot. The neighbor and Nasruddin bump into each other at the bazaar a few days latter. Nasruddin's neighbor asked, "Where is my pot?" "It's dead," said Nasruddin. "But how can that be?" asked the neighbor. Nasruddin explained, "If a pot can give birth, then a pot can die!"
One afternoon, Nasruddin and his friend were sitting in a cafe, drinking tea, and talking about life and love. “How come you never got married?” Nasruddin asked his friend at one point. “Well,” said Nasruddin, “to tell you the truth, I spent my youth looking for the perfect woman. In Cairo, I met a beautiful and intelligent woman, with eyes like dark olives, but she was unkind. Then in Baghdad, I met a woman who was a wonderful and generous soul, but we had no interests in common. One woman after another would seem just right, but there would always be something missing. Then one day, I met her. She was beautiful, intelligent, generous, and kind. We had everything in common. In fact she was perfect!” “Well,” said Nasruddin’s friend, “what happened? Why didn’t you marry her?” Nasruddin sipped his tea reflectively. “Well,” he replied, “it is a sad thing. Seems she was looking for the perfect man!”
Once upon a time, Nasruddin went to the marketplace and put up a sign that read: "Whoever has stolen my donkey, please return it to me, and I will give it to them." "Nasruddin!” exclaimed the townspeople, "why would you put up such a sign?" "There are two great gifts in life," replied Nasruddin. "One is to find something that you've lost and the other is to give something that you love away!"
___________________________________________________________________________
Mullah Nasruddin had a beautiful daughter. She was the desire of all the evil eyes of the men who lived in his village. Everyone sought the hand of the fair maiden, but Mullah Nasruddin protected her from the outside world, saving her for the wealthy young Khan who lived just outside the village. At last the young Khan came to ask for the hand of the beautiful maiden. Mullah Nasruddin drove a hard bargain and was to receive the highest bride-price ever bargained for in the entire region. With the usual Muslim regard for tradition, Mullah Nasruddin insisted on a long waiting-period before the wedding vows could be taken.
However, it seemed that the young and beautiful daughter of Mullah Nasruddin had a mind of her own. She had fallen in love with a young stalwart ne'er-do-well in the village, who constantly showered her with attention as she went to the nearby well to gather water in the mornings and at dusk. Her trips to get water began to take longer periods of time. Most people in the village knew what was happening, but no one dared tell Mullah Nasruddin. The time for the wedding approached and the young, wealthy Khan came to collect his bride. Mullah Nasruddin brought her to greet her betrothal, and lo and behold, she was very well pregnant by this time! The young, rich Khan was horrified, and turned on the Mullah Nasruddin, demanding to know why such a thing had occurred. And when Mullah Nasruddin merely replied that such things are normal when people get married, the young, rich Khan stormed out of Mullah Nasruddin's compound, and said that he withdrew his offer of marriage to the young beautiful daughter of Mullah Nasruddin; and therefore, would expect a return of his down payment on the bride’s price. Mullah Nasruddin, genuinely shocked, called after the young, rich Khan, and the young Khan returned. "Let us be sensible about this," pleaded Mullah Nasruddin. "Actually, I should double the bride price now that my daughter is truly pregnant and can give you a son." The young Khan, even more horrified, stuttered and asked, "In the name of Allah, why?" Mullah Nasruddin calmly replied, "Why just last week I delivered a cow to a man to whom I had sold the cow several months before. In the interim period, the cow became pregnant, and when I delivered the cow, I demanded and received twice the original amount. Now what is so different between a cow and a daughter?"
_____________________________________________________________________
Nasruddin heard that there was a banquet being held in the nearby town, and that everyone was invited. He made his way there as quickly as he could. When the Master of Ceremonies saw him in his ragged clothes, he seated him in the most inconspicuous place, far from the great table where the most important people were being waited on hand and foot. Nasruddin saw that it would be an hour at least before the waiters reached where he was sitting. So he got up and went home. He dressed himself in a magnificent sable cloak and turban and returned to feast. As soon as the heralds of the Emir, his host, saw this splendid sight they started to beat the drum of welcome and sound the trumpets in a manner befitting a visitor of high rank. The Chamberlain came out of the palace himself, and conducted the magnificent Nasruddin to a place almost next to the Emir. A dish of wonderful food was immediately placed before him. Without a pause, Nasruddin began to rub handfuls of it into his turban and cloak. "Your Eminence," said the prince, "I am curious as to your eating habits, which are new to me." "Nothing special," said Nasruddin; "the cloak got me in here and got me the food. Surely it deserves its portion!"
One day Nasruddin was taking a walk in his village, when several of his neighbors approached him. "Nasruddin Hoja!" they said to him, "You are so wise and holy! Please take us as your pupils to teach us how we should live our lives, and what we should do!" Nasruddin paused, then said "Alright; I will teach you the first lesson right now. The most important thing is to take very good care of your feet and sandals; you must keep them clean and neat at all times." The neighbors listened attentively until they glanced down at his feet, which were in fact quite dirty and shod in old sandals that seemed about to fall apart. "But Nasruddin Hoja," said one of them, "your feet are terribly dirty, and your sandals are a mess! How do you expect us to follow your teachings if you don't carry them out yourself?" "Well," replied Nasruddin, "I don't go around asking people how I should live my life either, do I!"
One day Mullah Nasruddin went to market to buy new clothes. First he tested a pair of trousers. He didn't like the trousers and he gave back them to the shopkeeper. Then he tried on a robe which was the same price as the trousers. Mullah Nasruddin was pleased with the robe and he left the shop. Before he climbed on the donkey to ride home he was stopped by the shopkeeper and the shop-assistant. "You didn't pay for the robe," said the shopkeeper. "But I gave you the trousers instead of the robe, right?" replied Mullah Nasruddin. "Yes, but you didn't pay for the trousers, either!" said the shopkeeper. "But I didn't buy the trousers," replied Mullah Nasruddin. "I am not so stupid as to pay for something which I never bought!"

DR. COMMANDER SELVAM (ALSO KNO
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
SIDDHIS
Siddhis are psychic powers such as knowledge of future events, understanding the language of birds or animals, spirit medium ship, clairvoyance, astral travel, telekinesis, reading of tarot, making oneself invisible or tiny as an atom (anima), and its opposite (mahima) and many more! Acquired powers are to some extent due to a cultivation of generally available techniques and to some extent to development of an aptitude for spontaneous power that was inherent but not powerful enough to manifest without training. It is enough to say that they are not approved of by true masters. In order to seek them, a man's mind must be directed towards them, not towards spiritual liberation. Those who have attained all these eight super powers are called as Siddhar. During ancient days many Siddhars lived in this universe. But in today’s modern world there are only a few in India. That too in western countries, there is only one Siddhar. He is Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam).
For many years Sri Lalitha Devi has revealed that, she is the Supreme Goddess in the Sahasrara, and that Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar is her incarnation on Earth. The siddhis that enable my three children to visit him in the Sahasrara were initiated by him. None of my children desired anything. How can mere children mediate on Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar and are met by him in their Sahasraras? How did a three-year-old kid or five-year-old kid acquire such powers? Whatever they told me about the Shakti in the Sahasrara is the basis of Siddhar. Without these siddhis there is absolutely no way to provide evidence that Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) is the incarnation of the Great Goddess.
So how do siddhis advance the Devi? I quote the following from Devi Bhagavata
"In the first enclosure of Srichakra, we encounter a kind of protective wall, three layers thick. At the first layer of the wall, we paid obeisance to the ten Siddhis, or occult powers, that can tempt us in the early stages of our sadhana. The temptation is to use these powers for our own gain, for personal victory or revenge upon another. When we do so, however, the siddhis become snares, entangling us ever more deeply in our own self regard.
But when we realize that the Siddhis come to us only to the extent that we become Devi, which we realize they are actually her powers manifesting through us, and that we are Her too -- Her local ears, eyes and arms -- then the Siddhis cease to become snares, and instead beome helpful friends and guides, directing us more deeply into Srichakra."
So www.sriselvamsiddhar.org proves that we are the Devi and her powers are manifesting through us. Even though Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) was not so fluent in Hindi twenty years back he used to chant the following lines continuously. Who heard him when he sang this song repeatedly?
O ek suki yaha lakoh mein.
Oh, only one in a hundred thousand is in bliss.
Ansoo hai croroh ankhoh mein.
There are tears in tens of millions of eyes.
Hum neh gin gin har takdir dekhi.
I have counted and seen every fate for years,
Ek hasta hai dush rote hai
Only one laughs while ten are in tears.
Kuch bhol Prabhu yeh kya Maya
O! Speak Almighty God what is this Illusion,
Tera khel samaj meh nah aya
Your Divine Play is all confusion and delusion.
Swamiji Selvam Siddhar (Dr Commander Selvam) of Annamalai Murugan Temple, India is the master of Atharva Veda and he is the only living Siddhar in the entire western countries. Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) is the only scholar practicing Atharva Vedic Astrology. He advices his devotees to perform the rituals as per Atharva Veda to get spiritual healing from the troubles and problems.
Note: All the following are a few of the Atharva Vedic Thantric Rituals should be performed only after consultation with our Swamiji Selvam Siddhar (Dr Commander Selvam). Using some other so called Swamijis and pundits who are not Atharva Vedic Scholars would give negative effects and put you in to further troubles. 1. Ashtadravya Atharva GANPATHY HOMAM
Ganesha is also one of the five Gods, the worship of whom was popularized by Adi Shankaracharya; the other four are Vishnu, Shiva, Devi and Surya. The worship of these five deities is called the pancayatana Pooja. The large head of an elephant symbolizes wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect that one must possess to attain perfection in life. The wide mouth represents the natural human desire to enjoy life in the world. The large ears signify that a perfect person is the one who possesses a great capacity to listen to others and assimilate ideas. The trunk relates to the power of human mind which must be strong enough to face the ups and downs of the external world and yet delicate enough to explore the subtle realms of the inner world. Ashtadravya means eight things, which are Coconuts, Molasses, Sesame seeds, Sugar cane, Lemon, Rice flakes and rice used in the Ganapathy Homam and is to appease Lord Ganesha and bless you with Wealth, Prosperity and Long Life.
Atharva Veda Nakshatra Devatha Pooja
Indian Vedic Astrology considers Nakshtra (the stars in which we are born), to be the important aspect of our lives. Nakshatra indicates our attitude, even our physical appearance and our future. It is said in our Vedas that Nakshtra Pooja is very important in our lives. It is conducted once a year for one person and one should perform Nakshtra Pooja once every year for the betterment of ones Life. The time frame will vary from person to person. The time frame will be even in the gap of once in 27 days.
Atharva Rituals for Marriage
Uma Maheshwara Pooja is for long and happy married life. Uma (Goddess Parvati is the consort of Lord Shiva) and Lord Shiva Pooja is performed as they are considered to be the perfect match i.e. Shiv and Shakti. This Pooja is considered to be best for marital happiness. If there is any discord in the relationship, all are resolved. One shall conduct this Pooja once a year for a happy married life. Lord Shiva is the Lord of mercy and compassion. He protects devotees from evil forces such as lust, greed, and anger. He grants boons, bestows grace and awakens wisdom in his devotees. Before performing this Pooja one should consult Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam). Call Swamiji in USA @ Toll Free 1-888-232-1818 or email to avtemple@aol.com
Mata Atharva Durga Pooja
This Pooja is the most beneficial for the protection from direct enemies, hidden enemies and to find the best life partner.
Atharva Durga, in Sanskrit means "She who is incomprehensible or difficult to reach." Goddess Matha Durga is a form of Shakti worshiped for her gracious as well as terrifying aspect. Mother of the Universe, she represents the infinite power of the universe and is a symbol of a female dynamism. The manifestation of Goddess Durga is said to emerge from her formless essence and the two are inseparable.
Matha Durga is also called by many other names, such as Parvati, Ambika, and Kali. In the form of Parvati, She is known as the divine spouse of Lord Shiva and is the mother of her two sons, Ganesha and Karthikeya. As the destroyer of demons, Matha Durga is worshiped during an annual festival called Durga Pooja, especially popular among Bengalis.
There are endless aspects of Durga described in the Puranas and Agamas and the iconography is consequently very varied. Matha Durga is usually pictured as having ten arms holding Sword, Conch, Discus, Rosary, Bell, Wine cup, Shield, Bow, Arrow, and Spear. Matha Durga is most often shown riding a lion from which comes her dignified name, Simhavahini, "She who stands astride the king of beasts". She is gorgeously dressed in royal red cloth and has several ornaments decorating her personage. Her hair is dressed up in a crown which then flows out in long luxuriant tresses that are darkly luminous and soothing to the eye. The various tools reflect the eminent supremacy that helps in controlling the universe and obey her will.
Goddess Durga exists eternally, always abiding in her own sweet nature and inhibits the hearts and minds of her ecstatic devotees. As Shakti power, she shapes, nurtures, and dissolves names and forms, while as subtle spiritual energy called Kundalini, She lights the lotuses of the seven centers of awareness in the sacred human body. Goddess Durga killed the powerful demon Mahisha and all his great commanders. When demonic forces create imbalance all god unite becoming one divine force called Shakti or Durga.
The next is Ugra Shiva Pooja.
The most fearsome pose of Lord Shiva is called as Kala Bhairava. This Pooja is the most beneficial for Physical attack, enemy fear, personality development and the effects of evil eyes. This Pooja is strictly to be done by the punditjis those who are well versed in Atharva Veda and as per the directions given by Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam). It is always very dangerous to perform these kinds of Atharva Veda rituals without the proper guidance and initiation from Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam)
Lord Bhairav is the most fearsome form of Shiva. According to Atharva Veda he is called as Ugra Shiva. In the contemporary times, Bhairav has been worshipped by millions of people to get the powerful blessings from the god. It is believed that Bhairav is connected to the Southern face and relates to the Mahavidya goddess named Bhairavi who gives Lagna suddhi (purification of the Disciple). This Ugra Shiva Pooja purifies and protects the body, self concept, personality, and other attributes associated with the Disciple. Ugra Shiva is worshipped when there are malefic planets in the birth lagna or when natural malefic planets are transiting. Ugra Shiva removes and protects person from these types of effects. As per the Indian astrology, Raaghu and Kethu are known as shadow planets, which play an important role in the life of a creature. The astrologers often suggest people, the worship of Lord Ugra Shiva to reduce the evils caused by the malefic position of Raaghu in the horoscope. Worship of Lord Ugra Shiva is very useful to win over the enemies, to get success and all materialistic comforts.

DR. COMMANDER SELVAM SIDDHAR T
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
3rd Yakshini of this group is Matha Chandraghanta
Matha Durga’s third form is known as Chandraghanta. Matha Chandraghanta name finds its justification in the half moon seen on the temple of the Goddess that resembles a bell. The deity has ten arms. The ten hands of the Goddess brandish ten different weapons. Mounted on a lion this form of the mother is worshiped as per the divine instruction and initiation by Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam). It is believed that a devotee who manages to earn the Devi’s blessings can set himself free from his sins and hazards that he has committed or may face in his life. The devotee gains the power to sense the supernatural, to see it and even smell the eternal fragrance. He is also able to distinguish the otherwise inaudible celestial sounds. This is the time when the devotee should be alert. 4th Yakshini of this group is Matha Kushmanda
The fourth appearance of the Devi is in the form of Matha Kushmanda. The Matha gets the name as Matha Kushmanda created the universe with a smile. When there was darkness everywhere and there was no existence of the universe she created the universe with a smile. Matha Kushmanda is believed to be the source of eternal power. The Matha Kushmanda has eight arms and that is why she is also known as "Ashtabhuja". The deity’s seven hands hold the holy urn (Kamandalu), a bow, an arrow, a lotus, a pot containing wine, a disc and a club. The eighth hand holds a string of rosary beads that is believed to provide success and prudence. Winter melon is termed as "Kushmandam" in Sanskrit. Amongst the sacrificial vegetables that are offered in the worship of the Goddess (naivedhya), Winter melon is the most important vegetable with which Matha Kushmanda is most placated. That is why she is named "Kushmanda". Matha Kushmanda is worshiped also on the fourth day of the Navratri celebration abiding by the rituals that are described in the Sashtra and the Puranas. Worship of this form of the Matha Kushmanda exterminates sorrow and diseases and augments life, fame and strength. Matha Kushmanda is appeased with the slightest of devotion and if any one whole-heartedly worships the deity he will certainly gain her favor. SWAMIJI SRI SELVAM SIDDHAR WRI
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) casts one’s horoscope according to the standards of Atharva Veda. After analyzing the severity of the problems he advices the rituals of Atharva Veda Yaksha/Yakshini and Ugra devathas. According to Atharva Veda the great goddess Sri.Durgamatha has taken nine different forms to solve different kinds of problems. The days, time and the number of chanting will vary from person to person according to the planets’ position in their horoscope. First we will see about the nine various forms of Sri.Durga Matha. According to the Atharva Vedic scriptures the following are the Atharva Veda Yakshinis called as Durga Yakshinis. They are also called as Nava Durga. The rituals for this group of Yakshinis are called as Atharva Veda Nava Durga Yakshini Maha Pooja.
The first Yakshini of this group is Matha Shailaputri Yakshini.
The first of Goddess Maa Durga’s divine forms, amongst the nine, is Matha Shailaputri. She was classified as Shailaputri after being born in the house of the king of the mountains, Himalaya. In this mold the mother is seen holding a trident in her right hand and a lotus in her left and she is mounted on an ox. In the past life she was the daughter of Daksha, the son of Lord Brahma. She was known as Sati then. As the daughter of Daksha she was married to the God of Gods, Mahadeva (Lord Shiva). Daksha once arranged for a ceremony of the holy fire (Yagna), and chose not to invite his daughter and son-in-law. Sati was restless to join the ceremony at her father’s place and even defied her husband’s advice of not attending the Yagna without an invitation. On going uninvited to the ceremony, she felt that everyone was giving her a cold shoulder except her mother who greeted her with a hug. Her siblings too were no exception and were sarcastic in their remarks. The guests too present in the function were uttering disrespectful comments about her husband. To her surprise her father too was harsh and rude in his approach. She was dejected and was so heart broken that she burnt herself to ash in the holy fire. Shiva, on hearing this incident was enraged and ordered his followers to immediately demolish the Daksha Yagna. After burning herself to death, Sati was reborn as the daughter of the king of the mountains, Himalaya and became known as Shailaputri. Thus amongst all the nine forms of Devi Durga, Matha Shailaputri is the most powerful and glorified of all. Matha Shailaputri is also worshiped in the first day of the Navratri celebrations. . 2nd Yakshini of this group is Matha Brahmacharini
Durga’s second appearance is in the form of Matha Brahmacharini. Here "Brahma" means meditation. That is, the Goddess is the meditator or a practitioner of penance. Matha Brahmacharini is seen here holding a string of rosary beads in her right hand and a Kamandalu (an urn containing holy water) in her left hand. In her previous life, when she was reborn as the daughter of Himalaya, she performed severe penance to have Mahadeva (Lord Shiva) as her husband. The sage Narada advised her to take up meditation to win Lord Shiva. For undergoing strict meditation she was known as Brahmacharini or Tapasyacharini. Ignoring the beating sun and thundershowers, she began a three hundred year meditation living only leaves that fell on the forest floor. She furthered her penance making it even stricter by relinquishing food and water for another few hundred years. As Matha Brahmacharini gave up eating leaves Matha Brahmacharini is also referred to as "Aparna". Practicing this painstaking contemplation she became weak and skinny. Unable to withstand the plight of her daughter her mother, Manoka requested her to give up her resolution. Shocked at the sight of Durga she exclaimed "u" and "ma". (In Sanskrit 'u' is a word of address, and 'ma' means 'don't' or 'not wanted'). That is why Durga is also called "Uma". On the other hand overwhelmed by Durga’s devotion and perseverance, all the Gods and sages in the heaven were placated. At last, Grandfather Brahma, pleased with Devi’s austerities made an oracle, "O maiden! No one could achieve or endure the penance you have performed till date. I am captivated by your meditation and devotion. Your wish will be fulfilled and you will certainly have Lord Shiva as your husband. You may now return home and rest. Your father will come soon to take you". This form of Durga gives the devotees everlasting success. Worship of Matha Brahmacharini appearance enriches the faculties of sacrifice, honesty and self-discipline. In times of utter distress the worship of this form gives success and the willpower to come out victorious. This form of Maa Durga is also worshiped in the second day of the Durga Pooja. SWAMIJI WRITING ABOUT WONDERFU

DR. COMMANDER SELVAM'S COMMAND
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
Commander’s Commandment for peaceful living.
All religions have all along their history cherished and held peace which is the most valuable treasure for mankind. All the schools of thought, all the saints and seers, all the visionaries and poets have advocated the cause of peace. Indeed, all the religions of the world and all prophets have sung the praises of peace; and whatever may be the doctrinal or other differences between religions and sects, there is perfect unanimity in their appeal for peace as the most honored possession of man.
Naturally, one may wonder why in spite of such unanimous advocacy of peace, mankind has been witnessing wars and conflicts without a break all through history. There is not a single country in the world, which has not suffered by the breach of peace to a smaller or to a greater extent. Great saints and prophets have come and gone. They have all preached peace eloquently and honestly, but their influence has not been considerable in preventing dissensions and conflicts.
The doctrine of Atharva Veda says that 'na hi kadachid anidrasam jagat' (The world was never any different from what it is now) implies that the affairs of the world do not alter with the passage of time and that human nature remains identical whatever the affairs of the world. History, in a sense, truly repeats itself. Wars have always been fought; and violence, deceit, ambition, envy, hatred, fear, suspicion, anger, pride, revenge, passion and prejudice have dogged man all through his career on the globe. The course of mankind has not changed despite prophets and messiahs, sages and seers.
But this is no justification for pessimism or cynicism. It is the nature of all phenomena that when things go wrong, corrections are promptly applied and the original state is sought to be restored. Wars are fought and peace is sought thereafter. Periods of agitation and turmoil are always followed by spells of calm and comfort. Depravity soon gives place to good sense. But is a significant detail to note that such corrections do not occur spontaneously or mechanically. There are always at the back of all these changes. And such individuals are divinely inspired and operate as emissaries of Destiny. Whenever evil prevails and the good suffers, God manifests Himself to put down the evil and support the cause of the good.
The Vedic seer visualized a state of composure and contentment in which not only all the living beings but also the natural forces settle down amicably for mutual benefit and betterment. He did not distinguish between human beings and animals or between animate beings and inanimate things. They were all alike eligible for peace and happiness. The Veda treats all aspects of existence equally as sources of comfort or distress for man depending on how he approaches them. By adopting spirituality in the day to day life one can enjoy a comfortable life fully well

SWAMIJI SRI SRI SELVAM SIDDHAR
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
Spirituality.
By the gracious blessings of the Almighty and Swamiji we discussed the spirituality of Ashtavakra Geetha in the last issue. As it is a very great work, I wish to discuss the same in this issue also. There is no use in simply reading all these things. But we should at least try to practice a little bit of the spirituality taught by the great scholars. By practicing the spiritual life we can have a comfortable living. We can develop wonderful humanitarian relationships. Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar often used to say “you will live according to your thoughts”. If our thoughts are high, we can live a higher life style.
After hearing the explanations of the great saint Ashtavakra, the great student Janaka asks a long question to the master. The question is, “It is in the infinite ocean of myself that the world bark wanders here and there, driven by its own inner wind. I am not upset by that. Let the world wave rise or vanish of its own nature in the infinite ocean of myself. There is no increase or diminution to me from it. It is in the infinite ocean of me that the imagination called the world takes place. I am supremely peaceful and formless, and as such I remain. My true nature is not contained in objects, nor does any object exist in it, for it is infinite and spotless. So it is unattached, desire less and at peace, and as such I remain. Truly I am but pure consciousness, and the world is like a conjuror's show, so how could I imagine there is anything there to take up or reject? For this long question the master Ashtavakra replies as follows. “Bondage is when the mind longs for something, grieves about something, rejects something, holds on to something, and is pleased about something or displeased about something. Liberation is when the mind does not long for anything, grieves about anything, rejects anything, or holds on to anything, and is not pleased about anything or displeased about anything. Bondage is when the mind is tangled in one of the senses, and liberation is when the mind is not tangled in any of the senses. When there is no 'me' that is liberation, and when there is 'me' there is bondage. Considering this earnestly, do not hold on and do not reject. Knowing when the dualism of things done and undone has been put to rest, or the person for whom they occur has, then you can here and now go beyond renunciation and obligations by indifference to such things.
The great master continues his explanation further. “Rare indeed, my son, is the lucky man whose observation of the world's behavior has led to the extinction of his thirst for living, thirst for pleasure and thirst for knowledge. All this is impermanent and spoilt by the three sorts of pain. Recognizing it to be insubstantial, contemptible and only fit for rejection, and one attains peace. When was that age or time of life when the dualism of extremes did not exist for men? Abandoning them, a person who is happy to take whatever comes attains perfection. Who does not end up with indifference to such things and attain peace when he has seen the differences of opinions among the great sages, saints and yogis? Is he not a guru who, endowed with dispassion and equanimity, achieves full knowledge of the nature of consciousness, and leads others out of samsara? If you would just see the transformations of the elements as nothing more than the elements, then you would immediately be freed from all bonds and established in your own nature. One's inclinations are samsara. Knowing this, abandon them. The renunciation of them is the renunciation of it. Now you can remain as you are. Abandoning desire, the enemy, along with gain, itself so full of loss, and the good deeds which are the cause of the other two - practice indifference to everything. Look on such things as friends, land, money, property, wife, and bequests as nothing but a dream or a three or five-day conjuror's show. Wherever a desire occurs, see samsara in it. Establishing yourself in firm dispassion, be free of passion and happy. The essential nature of bondage is nothing other than desire, and its elimination is known as liberation. It is simply by not being attached to changing things that the everlasting joy of attainment is reached. You are one, conscious and pure, while all this is just inert non-being. Ignorance itself is nothing, so what need have you of desire to understand? Kingdoms, children, wives, bodies, pleasures - these have all been lost to you life after life, attached to them though you were. Even though you have enough of wealth, sensuality and good deeds, in the forest of samsara the mind has never found satisfaction in these. How many births have you not done hard and painful labor with body, mind and speech? Now at last stop! Unmoved and undistracted, realizing that being, non-being and transformation are of the very nature of things, one easily finds peace.
At peace, having shed all desires within, and realizing that nothing exists here but the Lord, the Creator of all things, one is no longer attached to anything. Realizing that misfortune and fortune come in their turn from fate, one is contented, one's senses under control, and does not like or dislike. Realizing that pleasure and pain, birth and death are from fate, and that one's desires cannot be achieved, one remains inactive, and even when acting does not get attached. Realizing that suffering arises from nothing other than thinking, dropping all desires one rids oneself of it, and is happy and at peace everywhere. Realizing, 'I am not the body, nor is the body mine. I am awareness', one attains the supreme state and no longer remembers things done or undone. Realizing, 'It is just me, from Brahma down to the last clump of grass', one becomes free from uncertainty, pure, at peace and unconcerned about what has been attained or not. Realizing that this entire varied and wonderful world is nothing, one becomes pure receptivity, free from inclinations, and as if nothing existed, one finds peace. Only after learning all these things thoroughly, Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar got enlightened. Not only by the learning but by the continuous practicing he has attained such a higher place in the society.
After understanding the long answer from the great master, the humblest but great student Janaka starts his talks. Devoted Guruji, First of all I was averse to physical activity, then to lengthy speech, and finally to thinking itself, which is why I am now established. In the absence of delight in sound and the other senses, and by the fact that I am myself not an object of the senses, my mind is focused and free from distraction - which is why I am now established. Owing to the distraction of such things as wrong identification, one is driven to strive for mental stillness. Recognizing this pattern I am now established. By relinquishing the sense of rejection and acceptance, and with pleasure and disappointment ceasing today, I am now established. Life in a community, then going beyond such a state, meditation and the elimination of mind-made objects - by means of these I have seen my error, and I am now established. Just as the performance of actions is due to ignorance, so their abandonment is too. By fully recognising this truth, I am now established. Trying to think the unthinkable, is doing something unnatural to thought. Abandoning such a practice therefore, I am now established. He who has achieved this has achieved the goal of life. He who is of such a nature has done what has to be done. The inner freedom of having nothing is hard to achieve, even with just a loin-cloth, but I live as I please abandoning both renunciation and acquisition. Sometimes one experiences distress because of one's body, sometimes because of one's tongue, and sometimes because of one's mind. Abandoning all of these, I live as I please in the goal of human existence. Recognizing that in reality no action is ever committed, I live as I please, just doing what presents itself to be done. Yogis who identify themselves with their bodies are insistent on fulfilling and avoiding certain actions, but I live as I please abandoning attachment and rejection. No benefit or loss comes to me by standing, walking or lying down, so consequently I live as I please whether standing, walking or sleeping. I lose nothing by sleeping and gain nothing by effort, so consequently I live as I please, abandoning loss and success. Frequently observing the drawbacks of such things as pleasant objects, I live as I please, abandon the pleasant and unpleasant. He who by nature is empty minded, and who thinks of things only unintentionally, is freed from deliberate remembering like one awakened from a dream. When my desire has been eliminated, I have no wealth, friends, robber senses, scriptures or knowledge? Realizing my supreme self-nature in the Person of the Witness, the Lord, and the state of desirelessness in bondage or liberation, I feel no inclination for liberation. The various states of one who is empty of uncertainty within, and who outwardly wanders about as he pleases like a madman, can only be known by someone in the same condition”. While a man of pure intelligence may achieve the goal by the most casual of instruction, another may seek knowledge all his life and still remain bewildered. On hearing these words from the disciple the Guru starts telling his ideas on liberation and how to live happily.
Liberation is distaste for the objects of the senses. Bondage is love of the senses. This is knowledge. Now do as you please. This awareness of the truth makes an eloquent, clever and energetic man dumb, stupid and lazy, so it is avoided by those whose aim is enjoyment. You are not the body, nor is the body yours, nor are you the doer of actions or the reaper of their consequences. You are eternally pure consciousness the witness, in need of nothing - so live happily. Desire and anger are objects of the mind, but the mind is not yours, nor ever has been. You are choice less, awareness itself and unchanging - so live happily. Recognizing oneself in all beings, and all beings in oneself, be happy, free from the sense of responsibility and free from preoccupation with 'me'. Your nature is the consciousness, in which the whole world wells up, like waves in the sea. That is what you are, without any doubt, so be free of disturbance. Have faith, my son, have faith. Don't let yourself be deluded in this. You yourself are the Lord, whose property is knowledge, and are beyond natural causation.
The body invested with the senses stands still, and comes and goes. You yourself neither come nor go, so why bother about them? Let the body last to the end of the Age, or let it come to an end right now. What have you gained or lost, who consist of pure consciousness?
Let the world wave rise or subside according to its own nature in you, the great ocean. It is no gain or loss to you. My son, you consist of pure consciousness, and the world is not separate from you. So who is to accept or reject it, and how, and why? How can there be birth, karma or responsibility in that one unchanging, peaceful, unblemished and infinite consciousness which is you? Whatever you see, it is you alone manifest in it. How could bracelets, armlets and anklets be different from the gold? Giving up such distinctions as 'This is what I am', and 'I am not that', recognize that 'Everything is myself', and be without distinction and happy. It is through your ignorance that all this exists. In reality you alone exist. Apart from you there is no one within or beyond samsara. Knowing that all this is an illusion, one becomes free from desire, pure receptivity and at peace, as if nothing existed.
Only one thing has existed, exists and will exist in the ocean of being. You have no bondage or liberation. Live happily and fulfilled. Being pure consciousness, do not disturb your mind with thoughts of for and against. Be at peace and remain happily in yourself, the essence of joy. Give up the practice of concentration completely and hold nothing in your mind. You are free in your very nature, so what will you achieve by working your brain? The Guru further continues telling his ideas on being happy and living a comfortable life.
My son, you may recite or listen to countless scriptures, but you will not be established within until you can forget everything. You may, as a learned man, indulge in wealth, activity and meditation, but your mind will still long for that which is the cessation of desire, and beyond all goals. It is because of effort that everyone is in pain, but no-one realizes it. By just this simple instruction, the lucky one attains tranquility. Happiness belongs to no-one but that supremely lazy man for whom even opening and closing his eyes is a bother.
When the mind is freed from such pairs of opposites as, 'I have done this', and 'I have not done that', it becomes indifferent to merit, wealth, sensuality and liberation. One man is abstemious and averse to the senses, another is greedy and attached to them, but he who is free from both taking and rejecting is neither abstemious nor greedy. So long as desire, which is the state of lack of discrimination, remains, the sense of revulsion and attraction will remain, which is the root and branch of samsara. Desire springs from usage, and aversion from abstention, but the wise man is free from the pairs of opposites like a child, and becomes established. The passionate man wants to be rid of samsara so as to avoid pain, but the dispassionate man is without pain and feels no distress even in it.
He who is proud about even liberation or his own body, and feels them his own, is neither a seer nor a yogi. He is still just a sufferer. If even Shiva, Vishnu or the lotus-born Brahma were your instructor, until you have forgotten everything you cannot be established within.
He who is content, with purified senses, and always enjoys solitude, has gained the fruit of knowledge and the fruit of the practice of yoga too. The knower of truth is never distressed in this world, for the whole round world is full of him alone. None of these senses please a man who has found satisfaction within; just as Nimbi leaves do not please the elephant that has a taste for Sallaki leaves. Not attached to the things he has enjoyed, and not hankering after the things he has not enjoyed, such a man is hard to find. Those who desire pleasure and those who desire liberation are both found in samsara, but the great souled man who desires neither pleasure nor liberation is rare indeed. It is only the noble minded who is free from attraction or repulsion to religion, wealth, sensuality, and life and death too. He feels no desire for the elimination of all this, nor anger at its continuing, so the lucky man lives happily with whatever means of sustenance presents itself. Thus fulfilled through this knowledge, contented and with the thinking mind emptied, he lives happily just seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting. In him for whom the ocean of samsara has dried up, there is neither attachment nor aversion. His gaze is vacant, his behavior purposeless, and his senses inactive.
Surely the supreme state is everywhere for the liberated mind. He is neither awake nor asleep, and neither opens or closes his eyes. The liberated man is resplendent everywhere, free from all desires. Everywhere he appears self-possessed and pure of heart. Seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, tasting, speaking and walking about, the great souled man who is freed from trying to achieve or avoid anything is free indeed. The liberated man is free from desires everywhere. He does not blame, does not praise, does not rejoice, is not disappointed, and neither gives nor takes. When a great souled one is equally unperturbed in mind and self-possessed at the sight of a woman full of desire and at approaching death, he is truly liberated. There is no distinction between pleasure and pain, man and woman, success and failure for the wise man that looks on everything as equal. There is no aggression or compassion, no pride or humility, no wonder or confusion for the man whose days of running about are over. The liberated man is not averse to the senses and nor is he attached to them. He enjoys himself continually with an unattached mind in both achievement and non-achievement. One established in the Absolute state with an empty mind does not know the alternatives of inner stillness and lack of stillness, and of good and evil.
Free of 'me' and 'mine' and of a sense of responsibility, aware that 'Nothing exists', with all desires extinguished within, a man does not act even in acting. He whose thinking mind is dissolved achieves the indescribable state and is free from the mental display of delusion, dream and ignorance. Today many people are envying Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar. They say that he is living in a very big mansion house, he drives expensive and luxurious cars ad so on etc. My only answer to all of them is, even though he has everything, he is not attached to anything. He is a practical example for all. Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar often used to say, “I work for my great boss lord Shiva. He has given me all kinds of commodities for a happy and comfortable living. I should work hard to keep up the position given by my boss”. Everybody can become as Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar. It needs faith, liberation and spiritual life. I thank Almighty and Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar for giving me an opportunity to share my thoughts on Spirituality. In the next issue also we will meet with the ideas of Spirituality of different sages or rishis.

SHIVA VISHNU TEMPLE OF GEORGIA

Description:
Lord Shiva in the form of Rudras.
Abaya Lingeswara Moorthy
When Markandeya was given asylum by Lord Shiva, the divine Yama was constrained to face death. The ferocious attack by Lord Shiva created unbearable heat upon the universe. The divines and the devotees of Lord, begged Markandeya to console Lord Shiva. Markandeya being blessed with wisdom and great knowledge by Shiva, he started to sing the devotional lyrics on Shiva. The profound themes and melody were such that provoked the feelings of Lord Shiva and resulted to the compromise. Lord Shiva observed the calm state and pardoned the Devine Yama. The earth had reached to the routine. The duty of Yama to rule upon lives on earth continued. The normalcy was reached. So the idol defined here is for reaching the calm state. Every where, now days more and more complications and confusions are prevailing. Several places, there occur conflicts and quarrels. The need of peace is a forgotten matter.
So it is essential to worship Lord Abaya Lingeswara Moorthy who could well honor to the call of devotees to flourish with peace and prosperity.
Adhi Rudhra Moorthy
There are several happenings which end only in war and destruction. Lord Shiva kill the enemies on the ground of justice. In the Zodiac there is one star called Arudra. The Almighty’s star is Arudra. The sages of good old ages have written this. Still the festival “Arudhra Dharshan” we celebrate during December. (Margzhali).Rudhra is ‘Aasu kopi’ (sharp mood of anger) and he is having the “Thrishoolam” in his right hand. Feelings are observed with different qualities in different times such as fighting, touching, smelling, hearing and seeing. We are able to see the Lord Shiva in graceful states as well as frightening moods. People are also of different varieties. The persons with fearful nature are quite common every where. From the category of students to merchants, many of them worried much for the situations.
Students may be with fear to get promotion. Merchants are worried with business and unsold stocks. Like wise almost all categories and sections of society will be with complicated problems.
When the prayer is continued with the idol of “Lord Adhi Rudhra Moorthy” the self confidence, and successful opportunities are naturally annexing with the bewildered devotees.
Aghora Rudhra Moorthy
The different forms of Lord Shiva in the title Rudhra resembles with the manifestation of great anger with bold and positive look of destroying. Here the appearance is exhibited with teeth which are projecting horribly in both side of mouth. At a glance, if any one happens to look, will feel great fear. He kills all the enemies who do harm to His devotees. This atmosphere of destruction, He continues on account of putting an end to devils. Devils as demons described several times. But in the human heart itself there occur the injustice, unlawful desires, thoughts of killing, plans of stealing, ideas to possess the other person’s properties etc. These kinds of acts are also considered as devilish nature. The mankind should give importance and deserve them selves for a dignified life. All these doctrines are composed in this image.
When a person happens to behave out of gears, the Lesson-Teller is Lord Shiva. So, one can attain peace first and proper development with prosperity will reach next. At home sometimes children will behave with rough nature and rough tendencies. Even if the parents advice for the welfare of them, they will not obey. For such type of persons we should teach them to pray Lord Agora Rudhra Moorthy who will bring peace and pave prosperous way to life.

COMMANDER SELVAM'- STORY ABOUT
- From: commanderselvam
-
Description:
Melinda is the proprietor of a bar in Cork . In order to increase sales, she decides to allow her loyal customers - most of whom are unemployed alcoholics - to drink now but pay later. She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the
customers loans).
Word gets around and as a result increasing numbers of customers flood into
Linda's bar. Taking advantage of her customers' freedom from immediate
payment constraints, Linda increases her prices for wine and beer, the
most-consumed beverages. Her sales volume increases massively.
A young and dynamic customer service consultant at the local bank recognizes
these customer debts as valuable future assets and increases Linda's borrowing
limit. He sees no reason for undue concern since he has the debts of the
alcoholics as collateral. At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert
bankers transform these customer assets into DRINKBONDS, ALKBONDS and
PUKEBONDS. These securities are then traded on markets worldwide.
No one really understands what these abbreviations mean and how the securities
are guaranteed. Nevertheless, as their prices continuously climb, the
securities become top-selling items.
One day, although the prices are still climbing, a risk manager (subsequently
of course fired due to his negativity) of the bank decides that slowly the time
has come to demand payment of the debts incurred by the drinkers at Linda's
bar. However they cannot pay back the debts.
Melinda cannot fulfil her loan obligations and claims bankruptcy. DRINKBOND
and ALKBOND drop in price by 95 %. PUKEBOND performs better, stabilizing in
price after dropping by 80%.
The suppliers of Linda's bar, having granted her generous payment due dates and
having invested in the securities are faced with a new situation. Her wine
supplier claims bankruptcy, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor.
The bank is saved by the Government following dramatic round-the-clock
consultations by leaders from the governing political parties (and vested
interests). The funds required for this purpose are obtained by a tax levied on
the non-drinkers.
