  • Welcome To Obamacare Booby

    • From: AmericanBorn
    • Description:

In 1972 my mother discovered a lump under her arm. It was breast cancer. She had a radical mastectomy removing the entire breast. A year later it showed up again - and again she found it herself in the other breast - undetected by her every 3 month exams at the doctors office. Another radical mastectomy and follow-up treatments. She lived another 30+ years from these self-tests. They didn't cost anything - and saved - or at least added 30 years to her life and mine.

Mr. Obama's doctors have started the trashing of our great medical system with the most rediculous of statements telling women not to self-examine due to excess concern and false positives. That the expense of testing these false positives is unnecessary. A best friend, recently obtaining her MBA through GSU, found a lump, a very small knot, in one breast - on her own. A lumpectomy later, and some follow-up treatments and she is cancer free for years now. How smart would it have been for her to have waited to be 50 to check for a lump? She's approaching 50 this year - she'd be dead. So for Obamacare, that potential for a false positive wasn't worth much.

So men, black men in particular, I guess we can put off those pesky prostate checks. So much for Dr. Bigfinger asking you to bend over the end of the table. Just wait until you are 80 - if you make it that far - and you will probably have prostate cancer - but under Obamacare you won't need to worry because at anything past 65 you aren't worth putting any dollars into to make life better or extend your expectancy. No knees, no hips, certainly no prostate cancer treatments or penile implants.

We are in the midst of a revolution. To quote someone who was talking about another group, not our President and the leftists of this country, "They have been at war with us and we didn't recognize it as such." Obama and his gaggle of preposterous infidels are destroying everything we know as the Great United States of America. They will only get to push a little bit more and their hopes will be recognized. I firmly and wholly believe it is the intention of this group of gustapo intend to push the folks on the right as far as they need to in order to get a reaction where blood is actually spilled, not just words. I believe they will continue to berate, tax and take away freedoms until they finally get a physical push back - their ultimate opportunity for action.

When it finally happens - Marshall law - or Obama's equivalent - and then the real problems will ensue. The question for you to ask yourself - do you have enough food for your family stored to last for at least 2 months? Do you have enough firearms hidden that are not registered to fend off your neighbors that do not have enough food for 2 months? They will be asking - knocking on your door willling to do what they need to in order to feed their own. Obama intends to put you against your neighbor and destroy us from within. And the media is falling in place to encourage him. Sorros owns them and him - and the Chinese probably own him.

It all starts with taking away what we know as freedoms. Are you willing to let that slip through your fingers? Even you d Blackenstine?

  • End Of The World?

    • From: DrBlackinstien
    • Description:

If you have not already been exposed to the widely publicized “prophecies” regarding 2012, you soon will be. But can you find the truth in the midst of the media circus?

Roland Emmerlich’s epic 2012. This "end of the world"-themed film assaults viewers’ senses with scenes of unimaginable destruction, as moviegoers watch helpless human beings struggling to survive. The mounting hysteria surrounding the year 2012—specifically, the date December 21, 2012. Growing numbers of prognosticators are predicting Earth’s cataclysmic destruction on that date—while, at the other end of the spectrum, some are expecting the dawn of a golden "New Age" for Earth and its inhabitants. Amazingly enough, millions of people seem to be taking these predictions seriously. People and groups from nations all over the world are stockpiling food and supplies—even cashing in their life savings in order to buy land on remote mountaintops—all in "preparation" for the earth-shattering events they believe will occur in December 2012.

      Why December 21, 2012?

To understand why so many consider the date December 21, 2012 so important, we need to take a look at the ancient Mayan civilization—a culture that flourished for a time in the Mesoamerican region between North and South America. The Mayans kept many different calendars to track various time cycles. One is what scholars call the "Long Count Calendar"—marking the days that have passed since the Mayans’ mythical creation date in August of 3114bc. According to the Long Count Calendar, December 21, 2012 marks the end of a 5,100-year-long era.

      mayan calendar 2012 pyramid

The Maya had numerous calendars with which they tracked the movements of the planets (Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter) and the rotation of the Earth around the Sun. Two of these Mayan calendars are those which draw our attention to 12/21/2012.

      Which a diety will descend.

Many have interpreted this date as  the "end" of the Mayan calendar. For many, 2012 is their expected "end of the world"—but just how it ends, or what that end means, depends on whom you ask. Some are predicting that a devastating worldwide flood will occur that year (in contradiction to Genesis 9:11–17)! Others anticipate a cataclysmic disruption of the earth’s magnetic field. Some even predict that the earth itself will flip in space, suddenly switching poles or rotating in the opposite direction. Still others foresee solar flares scarring the earth’s surface, or forces from a rare "galactic alignment" wreaking unpredictable havoc on our planet.

      Consider the Source

Faced with such a bewildering array of predictions, we might understandably stop and ask: "Where in the world did all of these ideas come from?" Interestingly, although these ideas are often tied to the Mayans, their ancient culture actually prophesied nothing of the sort! As Dr. Stephen Houston, anthropologist at Brown University and Maya hieroglyphic specialist, observed, "These prophecies of doom really don’t have any basis in what we know about the Maya... The Maya descriptions barely talk about this event"

Indeed, the hysteria concerning the year 2012 is a modern phenomenon with modern, New Age origins! Many of the most influential popularizers of "2012-ology" have openly admitted that their ideas came to them through the use of hallucinogenic and psychedelic drugs, such as dimethyltryptamine, or DMT. These individuals claim that their drug use enables them to achieve states of "enlightened consciousness" and "shamanic vision"—allowing them to talk with and gain knowledge from strange, extra-dimensional beings. How do the sources and claims concerning December 21, 2012 hold up to the test of Scripture? They don't!!!!

Concerning the use of astrology and celestial alignments to divine the future, the Bible is clear: "Thus says the Lord: ‘Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them’" (Jeremiah 10:2). Christians are clearly commanded to avoid the practice and predictions of astrology!

God's word specifically describes coming events for which we should be watchful. For example, God’s word warns of global religious deception—part of which is already at work—and the rise of a miracle-working false prophet (2 Thessalonians 2:7–12, Revelation 13:11–15). It tells of a world-dominating military and economic power rising in Europe, led by a powerful Germany, that will be unlike any empire the world has ever seen (Revelation 13:1–4). We are also told to watch for a group of Arab nations achieving a unity that has previously escaped them (Psalm 83:4–7).

God said, "No man knows the time or day of HIS return"

Hollywood and Publishers will make much money, and deceive many!

My question to you my friend is, "Will you be deceived too?"

  • OBAMA HEALTHCARE REFORM PART 1

    • From: Zcat
    • Description:

      http://investigatingobama.blogspot.com/2009/08/dr-david-janda-on-awakening-tonight.html

According to Dr. David Janda, an orthopedic surgeon, the first part of The Obama Health Care Plan was buried in The Stimulus Bill which was signed into law by the President in February. It is the second part of The Health Care Plan which is now being debated in Congress.

In Part 1, a Lead Rationing Healthcare Board was set up and 15 members have been appointed by Obama. Also set up was a Federal Coordinating Counsel for Effectiveness Research.Part 1 was funded by 1.1 billion dollars set aside in the Stimulus Bill.

(Pelosi has awarded an entire new center for this Board and Coordinating Counsel in Part 2 of the Healthcare Bill that she is certain will pass.)

Also, in Part 1, an organization was created and named the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology. This organization, having access to a patient's medical record, will review what is going on between patients and doctors. This organization, not your physician, will guide medical decisions about your care at the time and place of care.

“Comparative Effectiveness Research” is based on the formula of the approval or rejection of treatment for patients based upon the cost per treatment divided by the number of years the patient will benefit from the treatment.

      http://www.nhteapartycoalition.org/tea/2009/11/05/rationing-boards-already-in-place-cer/

According to Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. David Janda who spoke with Judge Andrew Napolitano on air on November 4, health care rationing boards are already in place thanks to the stimulus bill where this provision was hidden. He says that these positions are already funded and the people have already been appointed to them!

  • OBAMA'S FRIGHTENING INSENSITIV

    • From: Zcat
    • Description:

      Obama's Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting
A bad week for Democrats compounded by an awful moment for Barack Obama.

      By ROBERT A. GEORGE
Updated 8:06 AM CST, Fri, Nov 6, 2009

President Obama didn't wait long after Tuesday's devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early light banter. The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That's the least that should occur.

Indeed, an argument could be made that Obama should have canceled the Indian event, out of respect for people having been murdered at an Army post a few hours before. That would have prevented any sort of jarring emotional switch at the event.

Did the president's team not realize what sort of image they were presenting to the country at this moment? The disconnect between what Americans at home knew had been going on -- and the initial words coming out of their president's mouth was jolting, if not disturbing.

It must have been disappointing for many politically aware Democrats, still reeling from the election two days before. The New Jersey gubernatorial vote had already demonstrated that the president and his political team couldn't produce a winning outcome in a state very friendly to Democrats (and where the president won by 15 points one year ago). And now this? Congressional Democrats must wonder if a White House that has burdened them with a too-heavy policy agenda over the last year has a strong enough political operation to help push that agenda through.

If the president's communications apparatus can't inform -- and protect -- their boss during tense moments when the country needs to see a focused commander-in-chief and a compassionate head of state, it has disastrous consequences for that president's party and supporters.

All the president's men (and women) fell down on the job Thursday. And Democrats across the country have real reason to panic.

  • JUDGE CARTER CONTROVERSY

    • From: Zcat
    • Description:

Two degrees of freedom: The Carter, Velamoor, Dunn, Obama (Perkins Coie, LLP) linkage
      by DefendUSx October 20, 2009 22:56

      by John Charlton

In a stunning blow to the impartiality of the American Judicial system, Federal Judge David O. Carter, who is hearing the case Barnett vs. Obama, in the Central District, Southern Division Court at Santa Ana, California, has just hired a lawyer who works for a law firm where Robert F. Bauer, one of Obama’s top lawyers is a partner. And that, just days before the Oct. 5, 2009 hearing on the Motion to Dismiss, in which his demeanor radically changed, according to Dr. Orly Taitz, esq., lead counsel for the Plaintiffs.

Siddharth Velamoor is the lawyer chosen by Carter to serve as one of his two official clerks, from Oct. 1, 2009, till Sept. 30, 2010, according to Wikipedia. Velamoor is listed as an associate with Perkins Coie, LLP’s office in Seattle, Washington. It is not clear if he has broken his relations with the firm. Perkins Coie, LLP did represent Obama in a previous case litigated by Dr. Orly Taitz last winter.

Robert F. Bauer, is a partner of Perkins Coie, LLP’s office in Washington, D.C.. His bio at the company identifies him as holding the Chair of the Political Law group at the firm; general counsel to Obama’s Campaign for America and general counsel to the Democratic National Committee.

Mr. Bauer’s wife is none other than Anita Dunn, the Whitehouse Communication’s Director.

Mr. Bauer, who represented Obama in a case challenging his eligibility in the spring, wrote a letter on April 3, threatening a citizen if he should continue to seek justice in the courts. You can read more about that case and letter here.

Since it appears that Siddharth Velamoor could be influenced by Perkins Coie, if the case did not go Obama’s way; his presence in Judge Carter’s chambers clearly impugns the integrity of the court, and will be the cause of dismay among the general public. Indeed since Velamoor will in the near future need a job reference from Perkins Coie, he will always have to be careful not to offend them politically.

This appearance of grave impropriety, leads the objective observer to ask (1) whether Velamoor has separated his ties with the firm; (2) who suggested to him to apply for a clerkship with Carter; (3) was this before or after the case Barnett vs. Obama was filed in February; and (4) did Carter know of the relations between Velamoor, Perkins Coie, and Bauer.

For more information about Velamoor, see “Just Citizens Making Ethical Statements” Blog.

UPDATE 8:30 pm EDLST: A Wikipedia user scrubbed their article on Carter, removing the names of lawclerks, citing as a reason for this change an attack on its webpage (”attack” here cannot mean too many requests for the page from you readers, because the stats at WordPress list less than 500 hits through this page to their page); the previous information regarding law clerks is still visible here, however; dispite the crude attempt of someone to erase the page.

Oprah to plug Palin book and maybe placate conservatives

Oprah Winfrey, on a campaign to climb back from last season's ratings slump, will attempt to kiss and make up with conservative viewers on Nov. 16 when she has Sarah Palin on her syndicated talk show.

You may have noticed that the appearance by the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate is happening smack dab in the middle of the November ratings derby.
It's also the day before Palin's new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life" is scheduled to hit bookstores.

Oprah's Winfrey's production company, Harpo Productions, claims it will be Palin's first interview about the book. We'll see about that.

More importantly, Harpo also claims it will be the first time Oprah Winfrey will have met and Palin will have met, and Harpo should know.

It's not just another show booking for Oprah Winfrey. She's going whole hog this season to try to recover from the ratings tumble she took last season when her audience slid to under 7 million viewers. And, during one awful week in July, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" suffered its smallest ratings since its debut way back in 1985.

Industry navel gazers speculated Oprah had turned off some of her conservative viewers -- or, more accurately, they had turned her off -- when she not only endorsed then presidential candidate Barack Obama but even campaigned for him. (Palin, of course, was the running mate of Obama's rival, Sen. John McCain.)

It was the first time Oprah had stripped off her apolitical veneer and publicly endorsed a political candidate. At the time, Oprah told CNN's Larry King she did it because "what [Obama] stands for" was "worth me going out on a limb for."

And her ratings took a tumble, though hers was not the only syndicated show to lose audience last season and she still managed to wind up at the top of the syndication heap at season's end.
Even so, Oprah has largely abandoned her whole aspirational programming mantra this season and gone in for the more purely commercial.

That has translated into the longest-two-day-interview-ever with Whitney Houston to kick off Houston's latest comeback attempt; Oprah's first visit with Dr. Phil in seven years; and an episode in which everyone had to dress up like the characters on "Mad Men" -- a show hardly anyone watches but which gets gobs of attention from drooling press, which meant gobs of free publicity for Oprah.

Also filed under Ratings are Everything This Season: Oprah's deliciously detailed interview with Erin Andrews, the ESPN reporter who was unknowingly videotaped nude in a hotel room by some stalker guy; and her highly touted, things-could-get rough, face-to-face meeting between former world champion boxers Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield -- their first meeting since Tyson bit off part of Holyfield's ear and got disqualified during a 1997 WBA heavyweight title fight.
And now, add to that list Palin, whose book was No. 2 on Amazon.com's bestseller list Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, "Say You're One of Them," a collection of short stories by Nigerian Uwem Akpan -- Oprah's latest book club selection -- was ranked No. 84.

  • Dr. COMMANDER SELVAM: Hindu le

    • From: PunditShriRudram
    • Description:

      The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Annamalai said in a bankruptcy court hearing Monday that assets listed on temple balance sheets as recently as December 2008 – including three cars worth $148,000, statues of idols worth $168,000 and other religious merchandise worth $134,000 – actually belonged to other parties.ShareThis

The Hindu Temple of Georgia filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August to avoid foreclosure on its facility at 5900 Brook Hollow Parkway in Norcross. Creditors were grilling Annamalai, the temple founder and chairman who goes by the name "Dr. Commander Selvam," in an attempt to recover some of the $2.3 million loan that the temple has defaulted on. Anderson Lake Properties currently holds the note on the property.

Annamalai has a lavish lifestyle that some critics and creditors question. He resides in a million-dollar mansion in Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth. The bankruptcy filings state that the temple still owes him $435,000 for three months' salary and a bonus. And the controversial guru also has spent untold legal fees on 24 lawsuits that are still pending in various local and federal courts against people he claims have  either maligned the temple or failed to pay fees for ritual services.

During the hearing, Annamalai said two Lexxus vehicles and a Mercedes listed on the temple balance sheets belong to him. He said 108 valuable statues that the temple has boasted about owning were actually on loan from another temple in Arizona. Other religious merchandise on display at the temple belongs to a company called Indian Handicrafts in India, Annamalai said.

Also in dispute during the bankruptcy hearing was the value of the temple's real estate holdings. The temple owns three properties – nine acres in Norcross, a  52-acre undeveloped tract in Carrollton, Ga., and a 17-acre residential property in the same city.

Annamalai valued the properties at $7 million, $2.1 million and $250,000 respectively. Valerie Richmond, an attorney representing Anderson Lake pointed out that Annamalai had not produced appraisals to show why the value of the properties increased so much only a few years after the temple purchased them.

Natural Alternatives to Influenza this Year

With all the media scare on the Influenza virus especially H1N1 strain, everyone is running to their doctors in a frenzy, afraid of what this year’s season might bring…an epidemic?  The truth is that while the H1N1 virus has affected us significantly in the last few months, there is no need for us to go running scared about a virus that has essentially the same progression and prognosis as the traditional Influenza A and B viruses seen in the months from October to February.  Following are some of the most common questions that I have been getting from patients in the last few months about H1N1, and some tips for prevention and natural treatment.

      1. What is the difference in H1N1 and Swine Flu?  Essentially, they are the same thing. The H1N1 is the subtype of Influenza and “Swine Flu” is the nickname given.  This virus is a type of Influenza A virus and has mostly the same symptoms as well as the same clinical course, meaning the “regular flu” can have the same type of complications as the “swine flu”.
      2. How can I tell if I have the “flu” versus a regular “common cold”?  The common cold which is caused by different viruses such as rhinovirus, cocksackie virus, adenovirus, echovirus, RSV and a host of others can have many similar symptoms to the flu such as fatigue, sore throat, congestion, nasal stuffiness, sometimes diarrhea or vomiting, low grade fevers, and cough.  The influenza virus, however, tends to cause higher fevers (above 100.4), headaches, myalgias, and more severe fatigue. Generally with the common cold a person may experience a low grade fever (99.0 or 100.0) for the first day or two, but with influenza the fever will persist into the 3rd or further days.
      3. Should I get a flu shot?  This is entirely up to you.  There are two flu shots available this year, one for the regular influenza and one for the H1N1 type influenza.  It is recommended that high risk people like young children, elderly, pregnant women (not 1st trimester), families of infants and pregnant women, asthmatics or COPD patients, and any immunosuppressed person (such as cardiac patients, diabetics, cancer patients, HIV patients, or any other person with immune system decrease, patients on steroids for long periods of time or other meds that may cause decreased immune response) get both vaccine.  Young healthy people may get the vaccine, but they may also choose to utilize other natural methods to prevent getting the flu.
      4. What about Tamiflu…does it help?  Tamiflu is indicated for treatment of influenza diagnosed within the first 48 hours by a physician for the following conditions: Patients with high risk such as those mentioned above with immunosuppression, pre-existing lung disease, elderly, young children.  It is also indicated for  anyone diagnosed with Influenza who has also been diagnosed with pneumonia or who has been hospitalized.  Other than that, Tamiflu treatment is not recommended. It should be noted that treatment with Tamiflu early on DOES NOT prevent the complications of H1N1 from happening.
      5. When should I be concerned if I am sick? It is never a waste of your doctors time if you are worried that something is wrong.  If you think you have the flu based on the symptoms above it is okay to go see your doctor.  However, if you are having persistent high fevers beyond 72 hours, shortness of breath, chest pains, uncontrolled vomiting or diarrhea, lethargy and mental status changes, cough productive of yellowish, green, or bloody mucous or nasal discharge alike, then it is definitely time that you take a trip to a doctor to be examined.
      6. What are some ways to prevent the spread of Influenza?  Besides the vaccine two of the most important and simple ways to prevent the spread are handwashing and covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing. Since this is a virus spread by respiratory droplets this is crucial to not spreading the virus. Other ways to contain the spread is by not exposing others: meaning if you are sick, stay home from work. If your children are sick, keep them home from school.  This is a highly contagious virus, and if we want to prevent an epidemic we need to start with the simple solutions that help prevent spread.
      7. What are some ways that I can boost my immune system for the upcoming flu season?  Taking Vitamin C and Zinc daily can help boost the immune system. The dosage of Vitamin C is 1000mg daily, and Zinc is 24mg daily.  Another way is to take immune boosting herbal supplements. There is a product on the market called Green Vibrance. It is a green superfood powder supplement that contains many immune boosting herbs and superfoods, and in my opinion it is one of the best on the market for immune boosting and over all health.  It can be purchased from www.vitacost.com or your local Whole Foods.
      8. What are some natural treatments for the flu?  Some great natural antivirals include ginger root (boiled or blended and drank as warm tea), Vitamin C (high dose) 3000-6000mg daily, and Colloidal Silver 10ppm daily. Immune boosting herbs like Elderberry, Astralagus, Echinacea, and Goldenseal work in tandem with the antivirals to fight off the viruses.  Another great product on the market (which I HIGHLY recommend stocking up on for this season) is called ACF by Buried Treasure. There is also a children’s version called Children’s ACF.  It has all of the aforementioned antiviral supplements PLUS others and if taken within the first 24 hours of symptoms can prevent a full on attack from the flu (or even the common cold for that matter).  Please note that ACF is not to be taken for longer than 2 weeks at a time. There is however, a prevention formula that they have on the market called Prevention ACF by the same company.  Again these can be purchased on the website www.vitacost.com or your local whole foods.

Conclusion: with all the hype about H1N1 and even the regular flu, the coming months may seem overwhelming.  But remember the simple things you can do to prevent spread, and the natural things you can do to boost your immune system before you are exposed and above all keep your stress levels down as this can lower your immune system and increase your risk of catching any of these things just as much as anything else.

    • From: ecigarettes
    • Description:

I read this press release a little while back and found it interesting.  Why does the FDA put up such a big fight to something that seems to be a good thing.  Of course they have to test it, but it seems that special interest groups are what is influencing the FDA.  One post I read stated that FDA meant "Fraud and Death Association".  I thought that was funny, but true.  The FDA "approves" drugs that have barely been tested because big pharmacuetical companies pay big $$$$$ to push them through the system.

Think of the big $$$ that big tobacco and big pharma and the government would lose if smokers actually did get healthier.   $$$$ BILLIONS $$$$

What a contradiction:  the agency responsible for helping keep us safe is, inturn, wanting to keep us addicted and unhealthy.  Ironic.  But money talks!

FDA report shows Electronic Cigarettes are much safer than tobacco cigarettes

      Information the media ignored

Last week the FDA announced that their laboratory tests detected carcinogens (tobacco-specific nitrosamines) in electronic cigarettes and warned electronic cigarette smokers to stop using electronic cigarettes, also known as e-cigarettes.  This scare tactic certainly made front page news, but it was not the entire story.

Nitrosamines are compounds that are in tobacco cigarettes, but are also found in beer, fish, meat and cheese. The levels of these compounds were found in trace amounts in electronic cigarettes, especially when compared to tobacco cigarettes.  Dr. Michael Siegel, a physician who specializes in public health and preventative medicine, states that the nitrosamine levels found in electronic cigarettes are comparable to levels in nicotine replacement products, such as NicoDerm CQ, which are approved by the FDA. "In contrast, the level of tobacco-specific nitrosamines present in tobacco products are 300 to 1400 times higher."

The FDA seems to be trying to sway public opinion by not providing all the facts to the consumer.  Sabina King of www.E-CigaretteDirect.com stated that the "FDA scare intimidated some of our customers.  After learning all the facts, customers continued to place their electronic cigarette orders.  We feel that electronic cigarettes are a healthier option for cigarette smokers.  Our sales have increased at astounding rates every month.  This demonstrates the need of these potentially life-saving products by consumers."

Electronic cigarettes are touted by some to help them quit smoking.  Many e-cigarette smokers claim they feel better and breathe easier using electronic cigarettes versus traditional tobacco cigarettes.  Distributors of electronic cigarettes say that their products have helped many people kick the habit.

Electronic cigarettes are intended to replace traditional cigarettes.  They produce no second-hand smoke, allowing e-cigarette smokers to 'smoke' inside establishments that normally ban tobacco cigarettes. Electronic cigarettes contain only 20 ingredients, as opposed to tobacco cigarettes that contain over 4,000 chemicals, including known toxins and carcinogens.

Several leading tobacco researchers, including Dr. Siegel and Dr. Joel Nitzkin of the AAPHP Tobacco Control task Force have criticized the FDA and request that the FDA validate their warning with more substantial scientific evidence.  You can read Dr. Siegel's analysis of the FDA data and a comparison of electronic cigarette versus tobacco cigarettes at E-CigaretteDirect.com

WARNING: Drug Cartel Exposed Creating, Releasing, Injecting, Infecting, and Depopulating Planet with Pandemic H1N1 Swine Flu Viruses and Vaccines

Los Angeles, CA— World leading drug-industry investigators have uncovered stunning documents proving an international drug ring, operating from New York City, is behind the H1N1 swine flu fright and vaccination preparations.

Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz, America’s leading consumer health expert, and Sherri Kane, an investigative journalist, have released shocking proof in legal affidavits that leaders of a private global biotechnology “trust” are behind everything you ever heard about pandemic flu, including its origin and alleged prevention via vaccination. Their documents, being sent through attorneys to the FBI today, evidence powerful industrialists operating a crime ring within “Partnership for New York City” are behind the pandemic’s creation, media persuasions, vaccination preparations, and health official promotions seen everywhere from supermarkets to health clinics.

“David Rockefeller’s trust, that engages several powerful partners on Wall Street, including media moguls Ruppert Murdock, Morton Zuckerman, Thomas Glocer, and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Jerry Speyer,” are implicated in advancing global genocide,” Dr. Horowitz wrote to FBI directors, through a team of attorneys assembled to stop the swine flu vaccines from being given.

“This ‘partnership’ controls biotechnology research and development globally. Health commerce internationally is also controlled virtually entirely by this trust that exercises near complete control over mainstream media to promote/propagandize its products and services for the drug cartel’s organized crime. This trust, in essence, makes or breaks medical and natural healing markets, primarily through the mass media companies and propaganda it wields for social engineering and market building,” Dr. Horowitz wrote.

Among the most stunning revelations from the Horowitz-Kane research are those linking Larry Silverstein of Silverstein Properties, Inc., and the 9-11 terrorist attacks, to the drug cartel’s geopolitical, economic, and population reduction activities. Mr. Silverstein, leaser of the World Trade Center who authorized to have building 7 “pulled,” meaning detonated, is a chief suspect in the “9-11 truth” investigation. Silverstein is currently landlord and co-partner in the biotechnology trust founded by David Rockefeller and implicated by these new discoveries.

“If these people can get away with killing more than 3,000 people in 8 seconds on 9-11, they are completely capable of murdering millions, even billions, of people worldwide this flu season,” Dr. Horowitz commented. “I pray these revelations will save millions of lives and help activists call upon President Barack Obama to demand legitimate inquiries into these genocidal atrocities.”

Given the unprecedented nature and urgency of these findings, Dr. Horowitz has posted his affidavit for public review on FLUscam.com, praying other activist will spread the information in order to prompt governments worldwide to cease mass vaccination preparations to avoid becoming accessories to the crime of genocide.

I got this as an email and it is really insightful.

       Dr. Krauthammer
is on Fox News. He is an M.D. and a lawyer and is paralyzed from the
neck down.  A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened
with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The
ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their
      children.

      Last Monday was
a profound evening, hearing Dr. Charles Krauthammer speak to the Center
for the American Experiment. He is brilliant intellectual, seasoned
& articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and
never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger
nor an extremist in his comments and views. He is a fiscal conservative,
and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent
contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The
entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his
comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and
internationally.  Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he
said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and
have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free.

      Summary of
      his comments:

      1. Mr. Obama is
a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be
underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions.
It's very hard to know what's behind the mask. The taking down of the
Clinton dynasty by a political neophyte was an amazing accomplishment.
The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the
perfect place at the perfect time.

      2. Obama has
political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of
making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while
doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what
      he DOES!

      3. Obama has a
ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make
something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including
dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as
the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level
the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the
achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or
      Canada
      .

      4. His three
main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL
      HEALTHCARE
by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or
financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap
and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for
FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare
program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a
Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof.
The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services,
like in Canada . God forbid!

      5. He has
surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around
him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run
the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't
work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left
secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a
moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does,
      not what he says.

      6. Obama
doesn't really see himself as President of the United States , but more
as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to
orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He
sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and
England was a prime example of how he sees America , as an imperialist
nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has
      at times

      made errors.
This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and
      appeased our enemies!

      7. He is now
handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due
until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems
on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has
a huge ego, and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a
      narcissist.

      8. Republicans
are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Republicans
are pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another like him.
Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl
      (except for his
terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich
is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent,
but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is
to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party
of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong
      national defense, and state's rights.

      9. The current
level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending
trillions that we don't have. This could lead to hyperinflation,
depression or worse. No country has ever spent themselves into
prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because
they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people
will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus
      package
. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions
and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4
      above.

      10. The
election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and
panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding
on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the
mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have
won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it
      was.

      11. In 2012, if
the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into
power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between
8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope
this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and
Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to
Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal
resistance. The work will be hard, but we're right on most issues and
can reclaim our country, before it's far too
      late.

      Do yourself
a long term favor, send this to all who will listen to an intelligent
assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's futures
depend on our good understanding of what is really going on in DC, and
our action pursuant to that understanding!! It really IS up to each of
us to take individual action!! Start with educating your friends and
      neighbors!!!

  • A Racist Educator!!!!

    • From: DrBlackinstien
    • Description:

For most white folks, indignation doesn’t work, because having remained sanguine about, silent during, indeed often supportive of so much injustice over the years in this country–the theft of native land and genocide of indigenous persons, and the enslavement of Africans being only two of the best examples–we are just a bit late to get into the game of moral rectitude. And once we enter it, our efforts at righteousness tend to fail the test of sincerity.

Here we are, in 2008, fuming at the words of Pastor Jeremiah Wright, for merely reminding Whites of those evils about which they have remained so quiet, so dismissive, so unconcerned about the damage done through centuries of white supremacy.

Indignation, no matter how loudly Whites announce it, cannot drown out the truth. And as much as White America may not want to hear it (and as much as politics may require Obama to condemn it) let us be clear, Jeremiah Wright fundamentally told the truth.

Wright's comment that the government created AIDS to get rid of black folks was viewed as ignorant, but it's worth pointing out that Wright isn’t the only one who has said this. In fact, none other than Bill Cosby (oh yes, that Bill Cosby, the one White folks love because of his recent moral crusade against the black poor) proffered his belief in the very same thing back in the early ’90s in an interview on CNN, when he said that AIDS may well have been created to get rid of people whom the government deemed “undesirable” including gays and racial minorities. Yes, America’s favorite black man sad t too!

Jeremiah Wright, unlike many Pastors who sugar coat TRUTH,  refused to feed his parishioners lies. What Jeremiah Wright knows, and told his flock–though make no mistake, they already knew it–is that 9/11 was neither the first, nor worst act of terrorism on American soil. The history of this nation for folks of color, was for generations, nothing less than an intergenerational hate crime, one in which 9/11s were woven into the fabric of everyday life: hundreds of thousands of the enslaved who died from the conditions of their bondage; thousands more who were lynched (as many as 10,000 in the first few years after the Civil War, according to testimony in the Congressional Record at the time); millions of indigenous persons wiped off the face of the Earth.

Everything changed four hundred years ago, when that first ship landed at what would become Jamestown. To some, everything changed when their ancestors were forced into the hulls of slave ships at Goree Island and brought to a strange land as chattel.

White folks have a hard time hearing these simple Racist truths. They find it almost impossible to listen to an alternative version of reality. Indeed, what seems to bother White people more than anything, whether in the recent episode, or at any other time, is being confronted with the recognition that black people do not, by and large, see the world like they do; that MOST Black people, and I say MOST because there are some "Happy Negroes" who have selectve memories of Slavery and the past, and do view America as White people view it. They say, "Let's just forget" about what the Whte man has done to our people!

In 1987, when Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall declined to celebrate the bicentennial of the Constitution, because, as he noted, most of that history had been one of overt racism and injustice, and to his way of thinking, the only history worth celebrating had been that of the past three or four decades. We were shocked to learn that black people actually believed that a white cop who was a documented racist might frame a black man; and we’re shocked to learn that lots of black folks still perceive the U.S. as a racist nation–we’re literally stunned that people who say they experience discrimination regularly (and who have the social science research to back them up) actually think that those experiences and that data might actually say something about the nation in which they reside.

The hypocrisy was, as many Whites sang “God Bless America,” loudly and proudly, they were enforcing Jim Crow segregation, rioting against blacks who dared move into previously white neighborhoods, throwing rocks at Dr. King and then cheering, as so many did, when they heard the news that he had been assassinated.Whites refuse to remember (or perhaps have never learned) that which black folks cannot afford to forget. I’ve seen white people stunned to the point of paralysis when they learn the truth about lynchings in this country–when they discover that such events were not just a couple of good old boys with a truck and a rope hauling some black guy out to the tree, hanging him, and letting him swing there. They were never told the truth: that lynchings were often community events, advertised in papers as “Negro Barbecues,” involving hundreds or even thousands of whites, who would join in the fun, eat chicken salad and drink sweet tea, all while the black victims of their depravity were being hung, then shot, then burned, and then having their body parts cut off, to be handed out to onlookers.

But maybe the reason why some Whites never new the TRUTH is because they wrote the book! his story, not true HISTORY!!!!!

  • Fascism, Racism OK IF...

    • From: AmericanBorn
    • Description:

Apparently the current administration has decided that if you are at least half black, facism is acceptable. Racism, as long as it is practiced against anyone non-black (here the rule may be allowed as low as 8-12% apparently) is also acceptable if the person can show they are in appearance somewhat non-white, non-asian, non-hispanic and hate white people. Also, if you are white, it is apparent that you get a partial pass if you send a few billion dollars to black people because of your influence or if you cut the right deal so they don't picket/protest your business. 12-13% of the population is allowed carte blanc running afoul of the law because to challenge them is racism even if race never played into their decision to challenge.

What is a terrible shame, sad, sad shame, is the millions of black people that have awaken to the idea of hard work, independence, capitalism, the law, the good life, the high road, as being the right thing to do - not the "white" thing to do. Within there own community they may be chastised instead of revered. Maybe that is why, even though the continent of the birthplace of man is thought to be Africa, that even the evolutionists believe we as a species may have evolved from some life form from Africa - there is no sustainable government that has held together longer than a generation in the whole continent except those that followed colonialism; and the ones that were developed as colonies that have since been replaced by the majority - have now all failed miserably.

Now in America, the USA, we are hearing from idiots and idealogs that all preface their statements with race - like it is supposed to make it right, make it fit, make it somehow more powerful because they inlcude race in the discussion. Charlie Wrangel, (d-NY), is a tax cheat. Why isn't he being prosecuted for the cheating? What is it that he has that any previous cheater found out in Congress didn't have? He says it himself - he's black and that is why he is being prosecuted - guilty while working black. Maybe he's guilty because he did something wrong! Is this really what folks of color want to hold up as how a black man becomes successful? "Cheat son, it's the only way us black folk can get ahead" is supposed to be good for black folks somehow, because they are black?

Union thugs have pushed protesters, filled town hall meetings, and manned the phones for Mr. O over the last couple of months pushing their agenda. Although the totality of unions aren't majority black - it is the unions that are majority black that are being most vocal.  ACORN is not run by black people 100%. Nope. However, the money they are dolling out is way over 90% going to black people only - why is that? I guess non-blacks don't need to be told to vote? I guess non-blacks don't need to be paid to vote?

So this president that said he would bring everyone together like never before - actually has people from all sides of the discussion not letting their kids watch him on television giving a speech. They aren't holding their kids from listening to their president because he is black - but because he is so dadgum radical. He can't be trusted - but of course the race card is played.

What is the good coming from all this? The race card is losing power. Because of all the corruption, radicalism, socialism, racism and facism out of this office and from the black leadership the race card is almost as valuable as a Madoff Visa card today. Adios Van Jones.

Keep your powder dry and your sack full of lead.

Definition for "Dr. Blackenstein" and KevinA:

      Characteristics of Fascist Philosophy

Fascism, especially in its early stages, is obliged to be antitheoretical and frankly opportunistic in order to appeal to many diverse groups. Nevertheless, a few key concepts are basic to it. First and most important is the glorification of the state and the total subordination of the individual to it. The state is defined as an organic whole into which individuals must be absorbed for their own and the state's benefit. This "total state" is absolute in its methods and unlimited by law in its control and direction of its citizens.

Another element of fascism is its elitism. Salvation from rule by the mob and the destruction of the existing social order can be effected only by an authoritarian leader who embodies the highest ideals of the nation.

    • Description:

If he sticks to this and doesn't make any changes, I believe this could possibly help some kids, and they need it.

The President: Hello everyone – how’s everybody doing today? I’m here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, kindergarten through twelfth grade. I’m glad you all could join us today.
I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of you in kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it’s your first day in a new school, so it’s understandable if you’re a little nervous. I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now, with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you’re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer, and you could’ve stayed in bed just a little longer this morning.
I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived in Indonesia for a few years, and my mother didn’t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday – at 4:30 in the morning.
Now I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster."

So I know some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I’m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what’s expected of all of you in this new school year.
Now I’ve given a lot of speeches about education. And I’ve talked a lot about responsibility.
I’ve talked about your teachers’ responsibility for inspiring you, and pushing you to learn.
I’ve talked about your parents’ responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and get your homework done, and don’t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with that Xbox.
I’ve talked a lot about your government’s responsibility for setting high standards, supporting teachers and principals, and turning around schools that aren’t working where students aren’t getting the opportunities they deserve.
But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world – and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities. Unless you show up to those schools; pay attention to those teachers; listen to your parents, grandparents and other adults; and put in the hard work it takes to succeed.
And that’s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education. I want to start with the responsibility you have to yourself.
Every single one of you has something you’re good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That’s the opportunity an education can provide.
Maybe you could be a good writer – maybe even good enough to write a book or articles in a newspaper – but you might not know it until you write a paper for your English class. Maybe you could be an innovator or an inventor – maybe even good enough to come up with the next iPhone or a new medicine or vaccine – but you might not know it until you do a project for your science class. Maybe you could be a mayor or a Senator or a Supreme Court Justice, but you might not know that until you join student government or the debate team.
And no matter what you want to do with your life – I guarantee that you’ll need an education to do it. You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a lawyer or a member of our military? You’re going to need a good education for every single one of those careers. You can’t drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You’ve got to work for it and train for it and learn for it.
And this isn’t just important for your own life and your own future. What you make of your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country. What you’re learning in school today will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.
You’ll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment. You’ll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. You’ll need the creativity and ingenuity you develop in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy.
We need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you can help solve our most difficult problems. If you don’t do that – if you quit on school – you’re not just quitting on yourself, you’re quitting on your country.
Now I know it’s not always easy to do well in school. I know a lot of you have challenges in your lives right now that can make it hard to focus on your schoolwork.
I get it. I know what that’s like. My father left my family when I was two years old, and I was raised by a single mother who struggled at times to pay the bills and wasn’t always able to give us things the other kids had. There were times when I missed having a father in my life. There were times when I was lonely and felt like I didn’t fit in.
So I wasn’t always as focused as I should have been. I did some things I’m not proud of, and got in more trouble than I should have. And my life could have easily taken a turn for the worse.
But I was fortunate. I got a lot of second chances and had the opportunity to go to college, and law school, and follow my dreams. My wife, our First Lady Michelle Obama, has a similar story. Neither of her parents had gone to college, and they didn’t have much. But they worked hard, and she worked hard, so that she could go to the best schools in this country.
Some of you might not have those advantages. Maybe you don’t have adults in your life who give you the support that you need. Maybe someone in your family has lost their job, and there’s not enough money to go around. Maybe you live in a neighborhood where you don’t feel safe, or have friends who are pressuring you to do things you know aren’t right.
But at the end of the day, the circumstances of your life – what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you’ve got going on at home – that’s no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude. That’s no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That’s no excuse for not trying.
Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you’ll end up. No one’s written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future.
That’s what young people like you are doing every day, all across America.
Young people like Jazmin Perez, from Roma, Texas. Jazmin didn’t speak English when she first started school. Hardly anyone in her hometown went to college, and neither of her parents had gone either. But she worked hard, earned good grades, got a scholarship to Brown University, and is now in graduate school, studying public health, on her way to being Dr. Jazmin Perez.
I’m thinking about Andoni Schultz, from Los Altos, California, who’s fought brain cancer since he was three. He’s endured all sorts of treatments and surgeries, one of which affected his memory, so it took him much longer – hundreds of extra hours – to do his schoolwork. But he never fell behind, and he’s headed to college this fall.
And then there’s Shantell Steve, from my hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Even when bouncing from foster home to foster home in the toughest neighborhoods, she managed to get a job at a local health center; start a program to keep young people out of gangs; and she’s on track to graduate high school with honors and go on to college.
Jazmin, Andoni and Shantell aren’t any different from any of you. They faced challenges in their lives just like you do. But they refused to give up. They chose to take responsibility for their education and set goals for themselves. And I expect all of you to do the same.
That’s why today, I’m calling on each of you to set your own goals for your education – and to do everything you can to meet them. Your goal can be something as simple as doing all your homework, paying attention in class, or spending time each day reading a book. Maybe you’ll decide to get involved in an extracurricular activity, or volunteer in your community. Maybe you’ll decide to stand up for kids who are being teased or bullied because of who they are or how they look, because you believe, like I do, that all kids deserve a safe environment to study and learn. Maybe you’ll decide to take better care of yourself so you can be more ready to learn. And along those lines, I hope you’ll all wash your hands a lot, and stay home from school when you don’t feel well, so we can keep people from getting the flu this fall and winter.
Whatever you resolve to do, I want you to commit to it. I want you to really work at it.
I know that sometimes, you get the sense from TV that you can be rich and successful without any hard work -- that your ticket to success is through rapping or basketball or being a reality TV star, when chances are, you’re not going to be any of those things.
But the truth is, being successful is hard. You won’t love every subject you study. You won’t click with every teacher. Not every homework assignment will seem completely relevant to your life right this minute. And you won’t necessarily succeed at everything the first time you try.
That’s OK.  Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who’ve had the most failures. JK Rowling’s first Harry Potter book was rejected twelve times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, and he lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career. But he once said, "I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
These people succeeded because they understand that you can’t let your failures define you – you have to let them teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently next time. If you get in trouble, that doesn’t mean you’re a troublemaker, it means you need to try harder to behave. If you get a bad grade, that doesn’t mean you’re stupid, it just means you need to spend more time studying.
No one’s born being good at things, you become good at things through hard work. You’re not a varsity athlete the first time you play a new sport. You don’t hit every note the first time you sing a song. You’ve got to practice. It’s the same with your schoolwork. You might have to do a math problem a few times before you get it right, or read something a few times before you understand it, or do a few drafts of a paper before it’s good enough to hand in.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don’t know something, and to learn something new. So find an adult you trust – a parent, grandparent or teacher; a coach or counselor – and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals.
And even when you’re struggling, even when you’re discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you – don’t ever give up on yourself. Because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your country.
The story of America isn’t about people who quit when things got tough. It’s about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best.
It’s the story of students who sat where you sit 250 years ago, and went on to wage a revolution and found this nation. Students who sat where you sit 75 years ago who overcame a Depression and won a world war; who fought for civil rights and put a man on the moon. Students who sat where you sit 20 years ago who founded Google, Twitter and Facebook and changed the way we communicate with each other.
So today, I want to ask you, what’s your contribution going to be? What problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make? What will a president who comes here in twenty or fifty or one hundred years say about what all of you did for this country?
Your families, your teachers, and I are doing everything we can to make sure you have the education you need to answer these questions. I’m working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books, equipment and computers you need to learn. But you’ve got to do your part too. So I expect you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything you do. I expect great things from each of you. So don’t let us down – don’t let your family or your country or yourself down. Make us all proud. I know you can do it.

  • HINDU TEMPLE OF GEORGIA FILES

09.01.09 (3:41 pm) [edit] By Andria Simmons The Atlanta Journal-Constitution The Hindu Temple of Georgia is broke. Hyosub Shin, hshin@ajc.com Dr. Commander Selvam inside Shiva temple at the Hindu Temple of Georgia in Norcross. The temple’s $5-million, nine-acre property at 5900 Brook Hollow Parkway in Norcross was slated to be auctioned with foreclosed properties in Gwinnett County on Tuesday. The foreclosure notice said the temple defaulted on a $2.3-million bank loan. However, the foreclosure was put on hold when the temple filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday, according to Greg Brown, a spokesman for the temple. “Our Norcross property, like many in America recently, is currently in foreclosure,” Brown said. “We are working diligently to remedy the situation and we feel confident that we will.” Brown said temple activities will not be interrupted by the financial turmoil. The Hindu Temple of Georgia has been on the skids since its controversial leader, Annamalai Annamalai, who goes by the name of “Dr. Commander Selvam,” was arrested in October on charges of financial transaction card theft and practicing medicine without a license. The temple’s chief priest, Lakshmanan Viswanathan, also was arrested in September for allegedly making false statements to police. Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter dropped the charges against Annamalai in July, saying there was insufficient evidence to link Annamalai to disputed credit card usages. Porter also said the state law for practicing medicine without a license provides an exception for religious healers. The charge against Viswanathan is pending. Annamalai told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in July that the controversy surrounding his arrest had put a strain on temple finances and scared away followers. He said about 1,000 people a week frequented the temple last year but that by this summer, the visitors had dwindled to one or two a month. J. Scott Trubey of the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported, first, on August 14th, 2009, that the Hindu Temple of Georgia and Community Center was suing Haven Trust Bank, the FDIC and Andersen Lake LLP . Honorable Judge Batten, US District Court (North Atlanta) ruled against the Hindu Temple of Georgia.

  • MIDLIFE CRISIS HOTLINE!

      MIDLIFE CRISIS HOTLINE!

          My Photo

      BIG Bad Bob

Remember those college parties, those fraternity "blow-outs" where you got so blitzed, you didn't remember a thing you did or said, and wouldn't believe what anyone told you until the pictures came back from the drug store?  In those photos you were wearing a house dress, brown socks and flip-flops, slow dancing with Frieda the girls wrestling coach, and sporting albino devil ears on your head that you made by emptying an entire carton of Cool Whip in your hair.?  And what about the next day when Frieda grabs you in the hall way and plants a big wet one on your lips and says, "Yes, Liebchen, even though there's a twenty nine year difference between us, I vill divorce Otto and marry you....and I do promise to spank you when you're bad!"....

Do you find yourself longing for those days?  Are you toying with the idea of trading in the station wagon and taking out an equity loan so you can buy a Corvette or Porsche?  Do you find yourself hovering around the "GRECIAN FORMULA" display at the drug store or paying close attention to those "HAIR CLUB FOR MEN" commercials?  Then I don't know how to break it to you Tarzan, but you appear to be going through your (echo) "MIDLIFE CRISIS"!     The "OH NO, LIFE IS PASSING ME BY" phase of your existence!  You are in your "I-gotta-do-all-the-things-I-haven't-done-I'll-show-them-I'm-not-getting-older!" mode!....

So now you find yourself signing up for sky-diving lessons, bungie-jumping, roller-blading, body building, slam and break dancing instructions (which are passé) and walking around giving everyone the thumbs up sign and calling them "DUDE".  Calm down Sparky!  This ain't your generation and you're embarrassing your kids!!

Lets be logical about this.  First of all, you didn't get this far being careless or stupid, did you?  Parachutes are considered EMERGENCY equipment, and were designed to help save you if you're in a plane that's in trouble and you have no other choice but to jump!  Unless you're a trained airborne type soldier and are getting paid for it, why would you deliberately jump from a plane?  And bungie-jumping, think about it....you're jumping off of a bridge and risking your life to be nothing more than a screaming and kicking, human YO-YO!  What's the point?  And break dancing?  If I'm going to get a rug burn on my back, it ain't going to be from BREAK DANCING!  As for roller blading, if you can stay up on those things and not break any of your body parts, more power to you.  The body building thing... you saw what it did for Dr. Frankenstein.  With the villagers and their torches, you'll never get another nights sleep....he wasn't a very popular man.....

Do what I do.  Live for the moment.  What's the big deal?  So you're getting older.  Consider the alternative.  However, if you really want to do something different, take up Yoga, or transcendental meditation.  These are things that will be useful in your future, so you can learn to put yourself in a trance and ignore pain.  You see Mother Nature has a little surprise in store for you.  Just as you are getting over your midlife crisis, your Soul Mate will be entering her change of life, and now you'll really be playing with "FIRE"!   ....
