Oprah to plug Palin book and maybe placate conservatives

Oprah Winfrey, on a campaign to climb back from last season's ratings slump, will attempt to kiss and make up with conservative viewers on Nov. 16 when she has Sarah Palin on her syndicated talk show.

You may have noticed that the appearance by the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate is happening smack dab in the middle of the November ratings derby.
It's also the day before Palin's new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life" is scheduled to hit bookstores.

Oprah's Winfrey's production company, Harpo Productions, claims it will be Palin's first interview about the book. We'll see about that.

More importantly, Harpo also claims it will be the first time Oprah Winfrey will have met and Palin will have met, and Harpo should know.

It's not just another show booking for Oprah Winfrey. She's going whole hog this season to try to recover from the ratings tumble she took last season when her audience slid to under 7 million viewers. And, during one awful week in July, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" suffered its smallest ratings since its debut way back in 1985.

Industry navel gazers speculated Oprah had turned off some of her conservative viewers -- or, more accurately, they had turned her off -- when she not only endorsed then presidential candidate Barack Obama but even campaigned for him. (Palin, of course, was the running mate of Obama's rival, Sen. John McCain.)

It was the first time Oprah had stripped off her apolitical veneer and publicly endorsed a political candidate. At the time, Oprah told CNN's Larry King she did it because "what [Obama] stands for" was "worth me going out on a limb for."

And her ratings took a tumble, though hers was not the only syndicated show to lose audience last season and she still managed to wind up at the top of the syndication heap at season's end.
Even so, Oprah has largely abandoned her whole aspirational programming mantra this season and gone in for the more purely commercial.

That has translated into the longest-two-day-interview-ever with Whitney Houston to kick off Houston's latest comeback attempt; Oprah's first visit with Dr. Phil in seven years; and an episode in which everyone had to dress up like the characters on "Mad Men" -- a show hardly anyone watches but which gets gobs of attention from drooling press, which meant gobs of free publicity for Oprah.

Also filed under Ratings are Everything This Season: Oprah's deliciously detailed interview with Erin Andrews, the ESPN reporter who was unknowingly videotaped nude in a hotel room by some stalker guy; and her highly touted, things-could-get rough, face-to-face meeting between former world champion boxers Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield -- their first meeting since Tyson bit off part of Holyfield's ear and got disqualified during a 1997 WBA heavyweight title fight.
And now, add to that list Palin, whose book was No. 2 on Amazon.com's bestseller list Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, "Say You're One of Them," a collection of short stories by Nigerian Uwem Akpan -- Oprah's latest book club selection -- was ranked No. 84.

      Spirituality.

During the past issues, by the gracious blessings of the Almighty and Swamiji, we discussed about the Spirituality described in Vedas, other great epics and sayings of great sages and monks. In this issue we will discuss a little bit about the spirituality explained in the great Upanishad named Mundaka Upanishad.

Man is endowed with the special instrument of discrimination, of judgment, of analysis and synthesis, which among all animals, he alone possesses. He has to develop this and utilize it to the best purpose. Through this instrument, he can realize the Immanent Divinity. Instead, man pesters himself and others with the question: Where does God reside? If He is real, why is He not seen? Hearing such queries, one feels like pitying the poor questioners. For, they are announcing their own foolishness. They are like the dullards who aspire for university degrees without taking pains even to learn the alphabet. They aspire to realize God without putting themselves to the trouble of practicing the Sadhana required. People who have no moral strength and purity talk of God and His existence and decry efforts to see Him. Such people have no right to be heard.

Spiritual Sadhana is based on the holy Sastras. They cannot be mastered in a trice. They cannot be followed through talk. Their message is summed up in the Upanishads; hence, they are revered as authoritative. They are not the products of human intelligence; they are the whisperings of God to man. They are parts of the eternal Vedas. The Vedas shine gloriously through all their parts. The Upanishads are authentic and authoritative, as they share the glory of the Vedas. They are 1180 in number, but, through the centuries, many of them disappeared from human memory and only 108 have now survived. Of these, 13 have attained great popularity, as a result of the depth and value of their contents.

The sage Vyasa classified the Upanishads and allotted them among the four Vedas; The Rig-Veda has 21 branches and each branch has one Upanishad allotted to it. The Yajur Veda has 109 branches and 109 Upanishads. The Atharva Veda has 50 branches and 50 Upanishads were its share. The Sama Veda has a thousand branches and the balance, namely, 1000 Upanishads were its share. Thus, the 1180 Upanishads were assigned by Vyasa to the Four Vedas. Sankaracharya raised the status of ten among the Upanishads by selecting them for writing his commentaries and so they became especially important. Humanity stands to gain or fall by these ten. All who are seeking human welfare and progress through spirituality  are now apprehending whether even these ten will be forgotten, for, neglecting them will usher in moral and spiritual disaster. There is no reason, however, for such fears. The Vedas can never be harmed. Pundits and those with faith should resolve to present before humanity these ten Upanishads at least. They are Isa, Kena, Katha, Prasna, Mundaka, Mandukya, Thaithiriya, Aithareya, Chandogya and Brihadaranyaka. In this issue we well discuss the spirituality explained in Mundaka Upanishad.

The Upanishads have also inspired other works on Geography, Astronomy, Astrology, Economics and Political Theory. The Vedas and the Upanishads are the very foundation for Sanathana Dharma and spirituality. There is one interesting feature to be noted. The Hindu religion has no one Founder as the others have. That invisible unknown founder is God, the source of all wisdom. He is the Prophet of this Sanathana Dharma. He is the Founder; His Grace and His Inspiration manifested through the pure Sages and they became the spokesmen of this Dharma. When the moral purity of men degenerates, God takes form as grace and inspiration in sages and teachers. He has also given through the Upanishads the Sathya-Jnana, the Wisdom concerning the Reality.

This Mundaka Upanishad begins with an Invocation, praying that eye may see auspicious things, the ear may hear auspicious sounds, and that life may be spent in the contemplation of the Lord. The teaching of this Upanishad is referred to as Brahmavidya, either because it describes first the message of Hiranyagarbha, the casual Brahma, or because the message relates the glory of Brahmam. This Upanishad speaks of Brahmavidya as the mystery which only those with shaven heads and those who go through a rite of having Fire on the shaven head can understand. So, it is called Mundaka, or shaven Head. Apart from this, this Upanishad is honored as the crest of all, since it expounds the very essence of Brahma Jnana. It is assigned to the Fourth Veda, the Atharva Veda.

This knowledge has been handed down from teacher to pupil by word of mouth, enriched and confirmed by experience; it is also called Paravidya, the knowledge of the Other when it deals with the attribute less Principle; when it deals with the attribute-full, the Saguna, the materialized principle, it is called A-paravidya, the knowledge of the Immanent, not the Transcendent aspect. These are the two that are found in this Upanishad. They were taught by Sage Saunaka to Sage Angirasa; that is what the text announces. The Vedas and the Vedangas deal with Aparavidya. The Upanishads deal specially with Para-vidya. But, the interesting thing is: the Apara-vidya leads on to the Para, the knowledge of Brahmam, which is the goal.

The spider evolves out of itself the magnificent manifestation of the web; so too, this moving, changing world is manifested from the causative Brahmam. The changing world is the product of creator-creation complex. It is true and factual and useful, so long as one is unaware of the Reality. The utmost that one can gain by activity, that is to say, holy or sacred activity is Heaven or Swarga, which has a longer lease of life, but, which has an end in spite of it. So, the seeker loses all yearning for Heaven; he/she approaches an elderly teacher full of compassion, who instructs him/her in the discipline for realizing the Brahmam.

All beings are Brahmam and no other. They all do emanate from Brahmam. As sparks emanate from fire, as hair grows on the skin but is different from it, so too beings originate from Brahmam. Brahmam causes the sun, moon, stars and planets to revolve in space; Brahmam grants the consequence of all the acts of beings. The Individual and the Universal are two birds sitting on the same tree i.e., the human body. The Jivi (individual) acts, and suffers the consequences of those acts. The Iswara (universal) sits quiet, as a witness of the other bird. When the Jivi looks at the Iswara and realizes that it is nothing but an image, it escapes from grief and pain. When the mind is drawn by yearning to know the Iswara, all other low desires diminishes and disappears. Then, knowledge of Atma is attained. The last mantra of this Upanishad declares that its aim is to make man attain that Jnana. Munda means head; this Upanishad is the Head of all Upanishads, we can say.

It has three sections, with two chapters in each. In the first section, the Aparavidya, and in the second, the Paravidya and the means of mastering them are dealt with. In the third, the nature of the Reality and of the release from bondage is defined. The Karma that helps attain the Brahmam is denoted in the mantras. That is why this Upanishad is respected as very sacred.

The spider, as already indicated, spins out the web from itself without any extraneous agency; it also takes in the web it has spun. So too, Creation was effected without an agent and the Universe emanated. Heaven is the highest attainable stage through Karma. Of such Karmas or rites, the worship of Fire called Agnihotra is the chief. The performance of such rites contributes to the cleansing of the mind. Such cleansing is a necessary preliminary to Paravidya. The flames that rise high from the sacrificial altar of fire appear to the performer as if they are hailing him on to realize the Reality or Brahmam. He who does the rite with full awareness of the significance of the mantra is able to reach the Solar Splendor, through the offerings made; they take him to the region of Indra, the Lord of the Gods. Only on this basis, Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar does a lot of fire worship and he recommends fire worship named “Mahayajna” to his devotees, who need more and more powers.

The Upanishad recommends two types of obligatory Karmas: Ishta and Poortha. The rite of Agnihotra, adherence to Truth, Thapas or Asceticism, Veda-adhyayanam or study of the Vedas, the service offered to guests in one's home - these are Ishta; construction of temples, caravan-series, rest-houses, tanks, planting of avenue trees - such acts are Poortha. These give consequences that are beneficial but, all such cause-effect chains are transient, they are fundamentally defective. The entire Creation is bound up with name and form and so unreal. It can be described in words and so, limited and circumscribed by the intellect and the mind. The Paramapurusha, the Supreme Person alone is eternal, real, and pure. He is the prompter of activity and the dispenser of consequence. But, He is beyond the eye, beyond the intellect. Like the spokes of a wheel that radiate from the hub, that lead from all directions to the centre, all creation radiates from Him.

To reach the central hub and know that all spokes radiate from it, the mind is the instrument. Brahmam the target is to be reached by the arrow-mind. Have your mind fixed on the target and using the Upanishadic teaching as the bow, shoot straight and hard, to hit the Brahmam and master. That is to say, the Pranava or the OM is the arrow; Brahmam is the target. As aforesaid the mind and thoughts are the base for an individual’s development. That’s why Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar often says as “you will live according to your thoughts”.

The Brahmam illumines the Jivi by getting reflected in the inner consciousness or Anthah-karana. One has only to turn that consciousness away from the objective world, contact with which contaminates the mind. Now, train the inner consciousness to meditate on the OM, with single-pointed attention. Meditate on the Atma as unaffected by the Jivi, though in him and with him and activating him. Meditate on Him in the heart, from which radiate countless nadis, subtle nerves, in all directions. If this process is followed, one can attain Jnana or Wisdom. The Universe is an instrument to reveal the majesty of God. The inner firmament in the heart of man is also equally a revelation of His Glory. He is the Breath of one's breath. Since He has no specific form, He cannot be indicated by words. Nor can His mystery be penetrated by the other senses. He is beyond the reach of asceticism, beyond the bounds of Vedic rituals. He can be known only by an intellect that has been cleansed of all trace of attachment and hatred, of egoism and the sense of possession.

Jnana alone can grant self-realization. Dhyana can confer concentration of the faculties; through that concentration, Jnana can be won, even while in the body. The Brahmam activates the body through the five vital airs or Pranas. It condescends to reveal itself in that same body as soon as the inner consciousness attains the requisite purity. For the Atma is immanent in the senses, inner and outer, as heat in fuel and as butter in milk. Now, the consciousness is like damp fuel, soaked in the foulness of sensory desires and disappointments. When the pool in the heart becomes clear of the slimy overgrowth, the Atma shines in its pristine splendor. He who acquires the knowledge of this Atman is to be revered. For, he is liberated. He has become Brahmam that which he strove to know and be.

Man is essentially divine. However, he believes himself to be an individual, limited and temporary, because he is entangled in the characteristics of the Five Elements, namely, Sound, Touch, Form, Taste and Smell. This error brings about joy and grief, good and bad, birth and death. To escape from this association with the Elements, to rid oneself of the pulls of their characteristics, is the sign of Liberation, called in Sanskrit as Kaivalya, Moksha or Mukthi. Names may change; but the achievement is the same.

While entangled in the Five Elements, man is attracted, distracted or disappointed by them; all this causes distress. Wealth, possessions - vehicles, buildings - all these re transmutations of the elements. Man craves for them; when he loses them or fails to get them, he spurns them. Let us take the Five Elements, one by one. The living being has the first one, the Earth, as its base. Water, the second, is the basis for the earth. Water is produced from Fire, the third element, Fire itself emanating from Wind, the fourth. Wind or Vayu arises from Ether, or Akasa. Akasa emerges from the Primal Nature and the Primal Nature is but the manifestation of one aspect of the majesty of God, or the Supreme Sovereign Atma, the Paramatma.

Seeking to reach that Paramatma, the source and core of the Universe, the Individual or Jivi, who has entangled himself in the elements, has to overcome, by discrimination and steady practice of detachment, the bonds one by one; such a person is a Sadhaka; he who wins in this struggle is the Jivan-muktha, 'Liberated even while alive.'

For the exercise of such discrimination and for the visualization of one's innate reality, one has to study the Upanishads. They are collectively called Vedanta. They form the Jnana kanda of the Vedas, the section that deals with the Higher Wisdom. Liberation from the consequences of Ignorance can be secured only by Knowledge or Jnana. The Upanishads themselves declare, "Jnaanaad eva thu kaivalyam": "By Knowledge alone can freedom be won."

The term Upanishad denotes the study and practice of the innate truth: the term, Brahmavidya, denotes the supremacy of spiritual contemplation; the term, Yogasastra denotes the mental churning that brings success. What is the fundamental activity which is required of man? What is the basic thing to be known? It is only one's basic reality. The Upanishads describe the various stages and the various modes of this search for realizing this. The name is full of significance. 'Upa' means the process of studying with 'Nishta' or steadfastness; 'shad' means the attainment of the Ultimate Reality. The name Upa-ni-shad arose for these reasons. The Upanishads teach not only the principles of Atmavidya; they indicate also the practical means of realization. They point out not only the duties and obligations one has to bear, but also the actions to be done and those to be avoided.

So, whether it is the Gita or the Upanishads or any holy and spiritual teachings, the teaching is Non-duality, not Duality, or qualified Monism. The human eye cannot delve into the minute or the magnitudinous. It cannot read the mystery of the virus or the atom or the stellar universe. Therefore, scientists supplement the eye with the telescope and the microscope. Similarly, sages are able to experience Divinity through the eye of knowledge, gained by following the Dharma of moral conduct and spiritual discipline. When the human eye stands in need of an extraneous instrument to observe even the insignificant worm and virus, how can one refuse to go through the process of mantra if he desires to see the omnipresent transcendent Principle? It is very hard to acquire the eye of wisdom. Concentration is essential for this. And, for concentration to develop and stabilize itself, three things are very important: purity of consciousness, moral awareness and spiritual discrimination. These qualifications are difficult of attainment by ordinary folk.

We should read at least the basic teachings of the Upanishads and try to practice the spirituality taught in those holy scriptures. By practicing the spirituality we all can lead a comfortable life. There is no caste, creed, region and religion for practicing spirituality. I thank Almighty and Swamiji for blessing me with an opportunity to share my thoughts one spirituality. I pray the Almighty and Swamiji to bless me with more and more opportunities like this to share my thoughts on spirituality.

Sri Soolini Durga is the wife of Sri.Sarabeswara. She is another form of Goddess Parasakthi. There are three shapes for each and every deity. They are Santham, Ugram and Maha ugram. It means calm, fearsome and the most fearsome. SriMeenakshi, Sri Kamakshi are the examples for calm poses of Goddess Parasakthi. Sri.Durga is the example for Ugram and Sri Soolini Durga and Prathyangira Devi are the examples for the most fearsome poses. When we need the motherly affection we have to pray the Santha shapes. To get rid of moderate troubles we have to pray ugra shapes as Sri.Durga. To solve the sever problems we face in our day to day life we have to pray the Maha ugram poses. Atharva Veda is the only Veda, which deals with the healing part. It explains in detail about the different methods of prayers and rituals to get rid of our problems. Sri.Soolini Durga plays a vital role in solving the problems faced by each and every body. Sri.Soolini Durga Hrudayam, a part of Atharva Veda and an old palm script compiled by a great monk, “Prapancha sara sara Sangraham” tells in detail about Sri.Soolini Durga. According to those wonderful writings, we will see about Sri.Soolini Durga.

Lord Mahavishnu took the most fearsome pose Narasimha and came out of the pillar, caught the demon took him to the entrance and killed him. Narasimma’s anger was very severe. Nobody could control his anger. So. All prayed Lord Shiva to control the anger of Narasimma. Lord Shiva also took a fearsome pose called Sarabeswara. He had two feathers. He controlled the anger of Narasimma and made him cool. Lord Sarabeswara had two wings. One wing is Sri PrathyangiraDevi and another wing is Sri.Soolini Durga. Prathyangira Devi and Soolini Durga are the most fearsome poses of Goddess Parasakthi.Prathyangira Devi is called as Atharvana Badrakali and Sri.Soolini Durga is called, as Atharvan Rudrakali. She is the mother of all.

What do we get from Sri.Soolini Durga? She is the rescuer from enemies. She secures all the wealth and assets. She helps us to come across all enemies. She cures the mind and physic. She blesses us with good children. She gives a lot of knowledge and wisdom. Whenever we call her she comes instantly to support us. It is very hard to go near her. • MANTRA HEALING BY SWAMIJI SRI

    • From: commanderselvam
    • Description:

A widely known saying from the Vedas states that "Speech is the essence of humanity." All of what humanity thinks and ultimately becomes is determined by the expression of ideas and actions through speech and its derivative, writing. Speech brings everything to life. Ideas remain unactualized until they are brought to life through the power of speech.

Similarly, The New Testament, Gospel of John, starts "In the beginning was The Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God..."

In mainstream Vedic practices, most Buddhist techniques and classical Hinduism, mantra is viewed as a necessity for spiritual advancement and high attainment. In The Kalachakra Tantra, by the Dalai Lama and Jeffrey Hopkins, the Dalai Lama states, "Therefore, without depending upon mantra...Buddhahood cannot be attained."

Clearly, there is a reason why such widely divergent sources of wisdom as the Vedas, the New Testament and the Dalai Lama speak of common ideas. Here are some important ideas about mantra which will enable you to begin a practical understanding of what mantra is and what it can do.

We know for a fact that every entity in the universe is composed of energy. Every syllable of a word that is let out by us is a carrier of energy and can be used to tap other specific forms of energy in the atmosphere. Mantras are incantations hailing the Gods thereby stimulating the necessary energy flow. This is mentioned in the following shloka:

      Daivadheenam Jagatsarvam Mantradheenamtu Daivatam

Meaning that, the whole universe is ruled by the Devas and the Devas are under the power of Mantras.

The deities are also a part of this energy world, Shiva being the supreme source conscious form and Shakti of energy form. Different energy forms called the Panchabhootas include, the ether element, the air, water, fire and the earth element. The existence of these elements in the human body and as well as in the atmosphere facilitates the interaction of energy between them.

Malfunctioning of the body system is caused by disproportionate energy levels in the system. Each organ has its own consciousness, and is capable of emanating and absorbing a certain amount of energy. Impropriety in this process (of radiation and absorption) can lead to abnormal activity of the organ or the organ system and can manifest as a disease.

But the dysfunctional can be healed with the power of Mantras.

The curative power of mantras is not restricted to the domain of physical illness though. It can also be extended to psychological, materialistic and spiritual deficits but it is of paramount importance that all barriers in the patient's mind must be removed to enhance mental receptivity, that the patient must believe that mantras can help him.

    • Description:

ONE RELIGION IS AS TRUE AS ANOTHER

The great penance will give you peace and contentment will come with ease. Your great ailment is your own desire and your religion bears kindness attire “Why should I follow any religion at all? “Where am I led by it” These questions are tormenting your thoughts for a long time But the answer is very simple. Follow the path of humanism. It is religion.

You may be practicing it for a long time. You have been adopting humanism as your way of life. Why should you identify with a religion then? It has actually been thrust on you by your parents and fore fathers. It has the significance of your history heritage and culture.

You may find after close observation of the historical evidences all around him that there had to be a “Great Being from whom all things in the world came into existence. You owe your homage to Him. This thought has been the origin of God and religion.

Religion a great scholar points out is a unique institution. All other institutions can be traced back to the animal needs of man and to his physical characteristics. All social organizations based on physical acts of sex, infancy and life in groups. It is how ever, difficult to ascertain the basis of religion in animal life. Thus, religion has become a part of man’s culture. It is a body of attitudes ideas and techniques where by man explains and adjusts to the unknown, the mysterious and the mighty. By means of various elements of religion, man tries to achieve a harmonious relationships with his power. In fact, this thought provoked the great mughal emperor Akbar to establish a new religion during his reign. He attributed it’s name as “Din-Ilahi” It was actually a blend of all religions in the world during the 15th century. His tenets included a total harmony between man and man. It preached a humanism in character and behaviour It completely avoided rituals of any sort and concentration of dogmas. It expected man to live like an institution and to adjust himself to his environment.

But man’s belief of superstitious and mysterious powers, over shadowed the principle of oneness in man. “Dinilahi” had it’s silent death proving the words of chesterfield. “Religion is by no means a proper subject of conversation in a mixed company”. It actually had it’s origin in the court of the great, Mughal Emperor. It has it’s strength only in the discussion between the king and his courtiers the courtiers took part in the discussion only to please the King. But their lack of belief in the king’s direetive proved to be a disasterous offair in the growth of a religion, which can be considered very practical in this modern world. Another big thing in the fall of Dinilahi was due to the dead contrast between Hinduism and Islam’s aspects. When Hinduism accepts too many gods with too many names Islam accepts only “Allah” as the supreme power. In the soil Bharath, Hindusthan and presently India, Hinduism has been dominant ever since pre – historic times. Hindustan has no historical founder like Jesus Christ, Mohammed the prophet, the Buddha, Mahavira, Guru Nanak and Zoroaster. It is the belief that the Aryan invaders from Persia brought the Vedic scriptures and gave Hinduism it’s first trace.

Like the Bible, the holy scriptures of Vedas and the Upanishads, a latter derivation speak of the beginning there was no thing there was death, there was the soul, there was Brahman. Brahman is the divine power, the holy power of energy. From Brahman all works, all desires all sweet powers and tastes proceed. The Upanishads emphasis that in the beginning there was the atman or the soul alone. Then Brahman enters the soul and thus man appears in the Universe. Hence the soul is Brahman knowledge of this takes man beyond gods. In the Upanishads a wise man tells his son put some salt in water taste it in the next day. Taste it from the surface, from the middle and from the bottom. It is salt every – where, yet invisible. So it is with the one reality, which exists in the body, though you do not perceive it. That is reality that is the soul and you are that”.

In the later days, to make man involve in spiritual activities various rituals and idols were created by the seers who propogated the religious codes. Each one tried to have their own followers in the strict austerity. Because of the flexibility in the religions rites, other religions came into existence according to the convenience of man and his belief man started going against religion gradually, His belief in idol worship, superstitions and withchraft gave rise differences among his own class. He has forgotten that religion is a virtue. We act on faith, hope and love of God.

Thus, man created a barrier in his relationship between man and man. His religious beliefs for his personal gains and dominance scattered the valuable peace and harmony all over the world. Today man has forgotten the virtue of kindness. He has no faith in love. He fails to attempt right living. Thus, religion has resulted in sufferings and chaos all over the world. Giving his disciple grape juice, the Divine apostle of Christianity Jesus Christ said “This is my blood I drink it. It will go on being shed for getting mercy for the sinners untill human beings are redeemed “That was the time of his last supper. He used to say” you have only right to love. Love your neighbour as your self shun selfishness”. The Holy Bible and the New Testament stand on this belief firmly.

Hazrat Mohammed the prophet of Islam, showed new light to the world. He himself suffered but believed the humanity of the ills that it suffered from. He showed the way of mercy forgiveness and tolerance. Islam is a religion of peace. It is submission to the will of God. If emphasizes the existence of only one God. There is no idol worship. The Holy Book Quran says “Let there be no compulsion in religion A true Musalman Must be tolerant. Islam teaches that every religion is true. It is rather strange that the founder of Buddhism never tried to establish a new religion. Yet millions of people accepted to follow it. He tried only to suggest measures by which one could be rid of sufferings in the world. Buddhism accepted certain values of Hindu religion.  The secret of the success of Buddhism as a world religion is that it advocated non – violence and place.

Vardhman Mahavira the founder of the Jainism, spread the message of non – violence, renunciation, kindness and good conduct. Like the Buddha, he believed that desire is the root cause for all sufferings. Both believed in non – violence. Mahavira followed a different style from Buddha in advocating his principles. He laid emphasis on rigorous penance and fasting.

The parsis the descendents of the Persians who fled the conquering armies of Islam in the 7th century have been the followers of Zoraster He set out to proclaim faith in one God and denounced idolatry and evil living. His teachings have been laid down in the holy book “Zendavesta”. The parsis consider three elements in the world sacred i.e: earth water and fire.

Sikhism is one of the latest world religions. It has its origin in the Punjab in the 15th century. Guru Nanak the founder of the Sikh religion has mingled the practices of the Hindu and the Muslim. That is worshipping the All – mighty five times a day. Their Holy Book is AdiGranth, which is in the form of songs and hymns.

Sikhism has many links with Hinduism in the practice of birth marriage, funerals. To sum up all religions have only one goal. Follow the principles of peace, kindness, love and Mercy. These can be the ideal force to lead man for his well being only in such a society humanism can exist.

Atharva Vedic Silence Therapy By Swamiji Param Pujya

      Sri Sri Selvam “Siddhar”

Silence holds the key to opening doors to a wholesome life, ultimate liberation and attainment of happiness. It uplifts our visions, our concepts, our way of thinking, feeling and how we act in our world. Silence is the tool which helps us know and experience fully who we are and what our purpose in life is. Silence offers the way to complete liberation for body, mind and soul. The appreciation for silence replaces the need for addictive thoughts and activities. When we love silence, there is no reason to run away from our thoughts and fears. The practice of silence brings unspeakable peace.

Speech is the biggest consumer of our energy; it depletes the oxygen in our body and mind and causes energy burnout. This is turn causes the mind to overheat, which leads us to become angry, impatient etc and hence we are unable to think or act calmly, coolly or rationally.

Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as  Dr. Commander Selvam recommends the practice of silence in his workshops and seminars. Only by participating in this silence therapy will you realize the benefits of it and the amount of energy you will gain from it.

There can be many other ways to communicate with each other without using speech, Swamiji believes that when two people meet it is possible to communicate in an energetic level because communication is not just only by speech, but by synchronizing energy levels you can also communicate. Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as  Dr. Commander Selvam does much work with energy and believes we can synchronies our energy more in silence rather then through speech.

Also he feels why we can’t develop other methods of communicating other then speech as he feels we loose so much of the essence of what we are trying to express through speech. Words can only ever give a limited interpretation of our real feeling; words will never grasp the real sentiments of feelings and emotions.

Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam believes healing energy flows more freely in silence

Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam has been practicing silence at a very young age. At the age of fourteen he spent three months alone in the jungle. Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam has spent many other periods in silence, anything from three or six months up to a year. Spending time in silence in both important and necessary for Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam to exist in this world.

Swamiji would like to express to people about his nature and his need for silence as a person, while traveling with his work or whether at home in the ashram he would encourage people to hug him or sit with him in silence from time to time. Swamiji would also like to express to people that he is extremely approachable and accessible if they would like to talk with and tell him their problems, he will listen and try to heal them.

Atharav vedic Sound therapy invented by Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar  for harmonization and deep relaxation:-

The technique of sound therapy has its roots in Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound, as well as in Yoga Nidra, the deep relaxation of yoga. Since time immemorial, sounds of Indian stringed instruments have been applied for healing and harmonization.

In former times people have used stringed instruments for playing sacred music and as an accompaniment and assistance for the pujas (rituals), meditations and also for the yoga-asanas. And also today musicians in India are still invited to perform at rituals, healings and Yoga Nidra. In the course of our society's media development, the CD has replaced the quality of live music. But Indian music always emerges newly in every moment and is a transmission from heart to heart.

      The effects of sound therapy

Sound therapy contributes to the relaxation of tensions and blockades caused by stress. The getting down to a deep state of peaceful mind revitalizes and restores the self healing forces.

The sounds produce a tender massage reaching more or less deeply into the inner body. Selected tone scales (Ragas) of the Indian music tradition support the re-discovery of the basic harmonic condition of the mind. Using relaxation exercises at the beginning, the listener opens up for the nourishing and healing tones. The music leads to an extended self perception. It activates the inner experience and can help to discover a new access to one's own inner resources. All body organs and senses come to peace hardly found even asleep. Crucial for this deep relaxation is the experience of real live music, as only this way a true dialog between musician and audience can begin, while the musician is sensitively in accordance with the immediate experience of the listener.

      The Rudra Veena

The Bin or Rudra Veena is a zither and belongs to the oldest classical instruments of India. According to traditional sayings Shiva has created it while he meditated on the beauty of his wife Parvati. The Rudra Veena is an early form of the popular Sitar and has been called the mother and queen of Indian strings. Rich in basses and overtones the Rudra Veena has been the ideal musical instrument to arouse a meditative condition of mind since centuries. Due to it's sound frequencies it is possible to resolve blockades very effectively in a quite easy manner.

      The Sitar

The Sitar is a long-necked lute and was created 700 years ago from the well known musician Amir Khusru.

The instrument is a further development of the Persian Setar and the Indian Rudra Veena.
The Sitar has through many resonant strings a very fine and lyrical character.
The sound is suitable for heart openings and meditative concerts.

Also lot of other special music theraphy was invented by our Holiness Sri Selvam Siddhar. For more information reach Swamiji Sri Selvam Siddhar also known as Dr. Commander Selvam @ USA Toll Free 1-800-574 3427 OR E- MAIL

THE STORY OF WOODSMAN NAMED VISU

Many years ago there lived on the barren plain of suruga a woodsman by the name of Visu. He was a giant in stature and lived in a hut with his wife and children. One day Visu received a visit from an old priest, who said to him “Honorable woodsman I am afraid you never pray”.

Visu replied “If you had a wife and a large family to keep, you would never have time to pray”. This remark made the priest angry and the old man gave the wood cutter a vivid description of the horror of being reborn as a toad, or a mouse, or an insect for millions of years. Such lurid details were not to Visu’s liking and he accordingly promised the priest that in future he would pray. “Work and pray” said the priest as he took his departure. Unfortunately Visu did nothing but pray. He prayed all days long and refused to do any work so that his rice crops withered and his wife and family starved. Visu’s wife who had never said a harsh or bitter word to her husband, now became extremely angry, and pointing to the poor thin bodies of her children, she exclaimed “Rise Visu, take up your axe and do something more helpful to us all than the mere mumbling of prayers”.  Visu was so utterly amazed at what his wife had said that it was some time before he could think of a fitting reply when he did so his words came hot and strong to the ears of his poor, much- wronged wife. “Woman” said he, “The Gods come first you are an impertinent creature to speak to me so, and I will have nothing more to do with you”. Visu snatched up his axe and without looking round to say farewell, he left the hut, strode out of the wood, and climbed up Fujiyama, where a mist hid  him from sight. When Visu had seated himself upon the mountain he heard a soft rustling sound and immediately afterwards saw a fox dart into a thicket. Now Visu deemed it extremely lucky to see a fox and forgetting his prayers, he sprang up, and ran hither and thither in the hope of again finding this sharp nosed little creature. He was about to give up the chase when, coming to an open space in a wood, he saw two ladies sitting down by a brook playing go. The woodsman was so completely fascinated that he could do nothing but sit down and watch them. There was no sound except the soft click of pieces on the board and the song of the running brook. The ladies took no notice of Visu for they seemed to be playing a strange game that had no end, a game that entirely absorbed their attention. Visu could not keep his eyes off these fair women. He watched their long black hair and the little quick hands that shot out now and again from their big silk sleeves in order to move the pieces.

After he had been sitting there for three hundred years, though to him it was but a summer’s afternoon, he saw that one of the players had made a false move “Wrong, most lovely lady” he exclaimed excitedly. In a moment these women turned into foxes and ran away. When visu attempted to persue them, he found to his horror that his limbs were terribly stiff that his hair was very long and that his beard touched the ground. He discovered more over that the handle of his axe though made of the hardest wood had crumbled away into a little heap of dust. After many painful efforts Visu was able to stand on his feet and proceed very slowly toward his little home. When he reached the spot he was surprised to see no hut and perceiving a very old woman, he said “Good lady I am amazed to find that my little home was disappeared. I went away this afternoon and now in the evening it has vanished” The old woman, who believed that a mad man was addressing her, inquired his name when she was told she exclaimed. “Bah you must indeed be had Visu lived three hundred years ago! He went away one day and he never came back again” “Three hundred years” murmured Visu. It cannot be possible. Where are my dear wife and children? “Buried” hissed the old woman” and if what you say is true you children’s children too. The Gods have prolonged your miserable life in punishment for having neglected your wife and little children. Big tears ran down Visu’s withered cheeks as he said in a husky voice. “I have lost my manhood. I have prayed when my dear ones starved and needed the labor of my strong hands. Oh dear people, remember my last words. “If you pray, work too”.  We do not know how long repentant Visu lived after he returned from his adventures.

  • Red carousel

    • From: ferret454
    • Description:

I know it's a blog not a poetry swap, but read my meaning.

      Red Carousel

      I dream't I was walking quite aimless
horizons at heel and at toe
the scape was so mired in sameness
that I'd not an idea where to go
      The wilderness I had encountered
was of drab and of dismal decor
and of all the hills I surmounted
an eerie self likeness they bore
In travels an eye's often beckoned
to sights if there are to behold
if your eye savors then a sweet second
then the wares of that object are sold.
on hills not too far to forbid me
an object did just as obliged
I diminished the distance that hid me
and approached with a hungering eye
Now the object was colorful wonder
      a spectacle like never seen
t'was bright red over and under
      and a rainbow, all in-between
      standing beside was a barker
a man who smiled more than he ought
as my eyes weighed the sight there before me
his gaze upon me, he brought.
"What's this", spake he rather loudly
"what's this, but a traveler worn."
he grinned and he gestured most proudly
and he brought to his lips his bull horn
"An adventure, my son, is awaiting
oh, such larks on this grand carousel!
there is no fee for the want or the waiting
but you can't charge for sloth, very well."
      Opposed to such quarrelsome tidings
I bid him, “Sir, tell me more of it."
Said he,"Most souls admire the riding,
and this trade, well, I do so much love it!"
Its seats seemed to me to be vacant
for its brightness which round about shown
"It's a thing brand new, or nascent?"
"Is that why I find you alone?"
"Oh, the joys and the wonders before you,
oh, the fun it's passengers know,
but of course, I need not implore you,
t'is a matter of choice where you go."
I thought for a moment with shivers,
I discerned a sharpness of tone
in the point that the barker delivered
as I stood by the carousel, alone.
His hand he extended towards me,
"Now, my boy, I am sure you're aware,
that my present situation affords me,
all the means to award you your fare."
In his hand was a currency glinting
a token of my debt holders credit
were I, by receipt, then consenting
I'd enjoy just the way that he'd said it.
"Times a'waist when we rest on the fences,
and my time is a currency rare,
do abate these most heinous offenses
honor kindness, take now the fare!"
"what offense?" I asked of the barker
"what offense, in my freedom to choose?"
I saw, now, his count'nance grow darker
"Why, with liberty, you're liable to lose."
His great hand held fare for a legion
he offered it through teeth that he grinded
"You've seen freedom, so what is the reason
you doubt me, be open minded."
Ah, I regret what came after
and the err that has haunted me ever
I took the fare for the ride and its master
he beguiled with a ruse, oh, so clever.
      the coin, I took,  contemplating;
If I care not I'll leave and repay,
if, I so love, as the barker was stating,
Then perhaps, on the carousel, I'll stay.
I passed by the barker, still wary
aware of the dulling of hue
where the bright colors used to all vary
they'd succumbed to steel grey, rusted through
its platform with fear I ascended,
Its posts I gripped as I passed
it was wasted, broken, and dented,
      accommodations were broken and dashed
"Sit!" Came a voice made of power
"Your entitlements last but a round!"
So I sat ,when he spoke, like a coward
on the rust and the ruin I sat down.
Now the music was fair from a distance
but a mantra it made here within
"Take the ride, offer up no resistance,
and except what befalls at the end."
the ride was no pleasure, believe me'
but what came at the end was a terror,
the floor fell away, to receive me,
were the men who had shared in my error.
Pressing hard to afford him his lucre
his servants had powered my ride
and this fate would now be my future
for the service he said he'd provide.
In the hold were the men he'd been hiding
from the scape that freedom out spread
for they'd tired of effort providing
and sought a free ride here instead.
Now time has gone on here for ages
and the ride is in worsen'd repair
and for sad tales I haven’t the pages
and for effort I haven’t the care
but I push when the barker needs labor
and I raise for his privilege a price
and I think on this truth now and ever
      "privilege without freedom is vice"
      I woke from this apparition
with a new perspective on living
don't live by the governments permission
and don't take everything that they're "giving"

  • DR. COMMANDER SELVAM (ALSO KNO

    • From: commanderselvam
    • Description:

      SIDDHIS

Siddhis are psychic powers such as knowledge of future events, understanding the language of birds or animals, spirit medium ship, clairvoyance, astral travel, telekinesis, reading of tarot, making oneself invisible or tiny as an atom (anima), and its opposite (mahima) and many more! Acquired powers are to some extent due to a cultivation of generally available techniques and to some extent to development of an aptitude for spontaneous power that was inherent but not powerful enough to manifest without training. It is enough to say that they are not approved of by true masters. In order to seek them, a man's mind must be directed towards them, not towards spiritual liberation. Those who have attained all these eight super powers are called as Siddhar. During ancient days many Siddhars lived in this universe. But in today’s modern world there are only a few in India. That too in western countries, there is only one Siddhar. He is Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam).

For many years Sri Lalitha Devi has revealed that, she is the Supreme Goddess in the Sahasrara, and that Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar is her incarnation on Earth. The siddhis that enable my three children to visit him in the Sahasrara were initiated by him. None of my children desired anything. How can mere children mediate on Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar and are met by him in their Sahasraras? How did a three-year-old kid or five-year-old kid acquire such powers? Whatever they told me about the Shakti in the Sahasrara is the basis of Siddhar. Without these siddhis there is absolutely no way to provide evidence that Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) is the incarnation of the Great Goddess.

So how do siddhis advance the Devi? I quote the following from Devi Bhagavata

"In the first enclosure of Srichakra, we encounter a kind of protective wall, three layers thick. At the first layer of the wall, we paid obeisance to the ten Siddhis, or occult powers, that can tempt us in the early stages of our sadhana. The temptation is to use these powers for our own gain, for personal victory or revenge upon another. When we do so, however, the siddhis become snares, entangling us ever more deeply in our own self regard.

But when we realize that the Siddhis come to us only to the extent that we become Devi, which we realize they are actually her powers manifesting through us, and that we are Her too -- Her local ears, eyes and arms -- then the Siddhis cease to become snares, and instead beome helpful friends and guides, directing us more deeply into Srichakra."

So www.sriselvamsiddhar.org  proves that we are the Devi and her powers are manifesting through us. Even though Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) was not so fluent in Hindi twenty years back he used to chant the following lines continuously. Who heard him when he sang this song repeatedly?

O ek suki yaha lakoh mein.

Oh, only one in a hundred thousand is in bliss.

      Ansoo hai croroh ankhoh mein.

There are tears in tens of millions of eyes.

Hum neh gin gin har takdir dekhi.

I have counted and seen every fate for years,

Ek hasta hai dush rote hai

Only one laughs while ten are in tears.

Kuch bhol Prabhu yeh kya Maya

O! Speak Almighty God what is this Illusion,

Tera khel samaj meh nah aya

Your Divine Play is all confusion and delusion.

Ganesha is also one of the five Gods, the worship of whom was popularized by Adi Shankaracharya; the other four are Vishnu, Shiva, Devi and Surya. The worship of these five deities is called the pancayatana Pooja. The large head of an elephant symbolizes wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect that one must possess to attain perfection in life. The wide mouth represents the natural human desire to enjoy life in the world. The large ears signify that a perfect person is the one who possesses a great capacity to listen to others and assimilate ideas. The trunk relates to the power of human mind which must be strong enough to face the ups and downs of the external world and yet delicate enough to explore the subtle realms of the inner world. Ashtadravya means eight things, which are Coconuts, Molasses, Sesame seeds, Sugar cane, Lemon, Rice flakes and rice used in the Ganapathy Homam and is to appease Lord Ganesha and bless you with Wealth, Prosperity and Long Life.

      Mata Atharva Durga Pooja

This Pooja is the most beneficial for the protection from direct enemies, hidden enemies and to find the best life partner.

Atharva Durga, in Sanskrit means "She who is incomprehensible or difficult to reach." Goddess Matha Durga is a form of Shakti worshiped for her gracious as well as terrifying aspect. Mother of the Universe, she represents the infinite power of the universe and is a symbol of a female dynamism. The manifestation of Goddess Durga is said to emerge from her formless essence and the two are inseparable.

Matha Durga is also called by many other names, such as Parvati, Ambika, and Kali. In the form of Parvati, She is known as the divine spouse of Lord Shiva and is the mother of her two sons, Ganesha and Karthikeya. As the destroyer of demons, Matha Durga is worshiped during an annual festival called Durga Pooja, especially popular among Bengalis.

There are endless aspects of Durga described in the Puranas and Agamas and the iconography is consequently very varied. Matha Durga is usually pictured as having ten arms holding Sword, Conch, Discus, Rosary, Bell, Wine cup, Shield, Bow, Arrow, and Spear. Matha Durga is most often shown riding a lion from which comes her dignified name, Simhavahini, "She who stands astride the king of beasts". She is gorgeously dressed in royal red cloth and has several ornaments decorating her personage. Her hair is dressed up in a crown which then flows out in long luxuriant tresses that are darkly luminous and soothing to the eye. The various tools reflect the eminent supremacy that helps in controlling the universe and obey her will.

Goddess Durga exists eternally, always abiding in her own sweet nature and inhibits the hearts and minds of her ecstatic devotees. As Shakti power, she shapes, nurtures, and dissolves names and forms, while as subtle spiritual energy called Kundalini, She lights the lotuses of the seven centers of awareness in the sacred human body. Goddess Durga killed the powerful demon Mahisha and all his great commanders. When demonic forces create imbalance all god unite becoming one divine force called Shakti or Durga.

The next is Ugra Shiva Pooja.

The most fearsome pose of Lord Shiva is called as Kala Bhairava. This Pooja is the most beneficial for Physical attack, enemy fear, personality development and the effects of evil eyes. This Pooja is strictly to be done by the punditjis those who are well versed in Atharva Veda and as per the directions given by Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam). It is always very dangerous to perform these kinds of Atharva Veda rituals without the proper guidance and initiation from Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam)

Lord Bhairav is the most fearsome form of Shiva. According to Atharva Veda he is called as Ugra Shiva. In the contemporary times, Bhairav has been worshipped by millions of people to get the powerful blessings from the god. It is believed that Bhairav is connected to the Southern face and relates to the Mahavidya goddess named Bhairavi who gives Lagna suddhi (purification of the Disciple). This Ugra Shiva Pooja purifies and protects the body, self concept, personality, and other attributes associated with the Disciple. Ugra Shiva is worshipped when there are malefic planets in the birth lagna or when natural malefic planets are transiting. Ugra Shiva removes and protects person from these types of effects. As per the Indian astrology, Raaghu and Kethu are known as shadow planets, which play an important role in the life of a creature. The astrologers often suggest people, the worship of Lord Ugra Shiva to reduce the evils caused by the malefic position of Raaghu in the horoscope. Worship of Lord Ugra Shiva is very useful to win over the enemies, to get success and all materialistic comforts.

Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar (Dr. Commander Selvam) casts one’s horoscope according to the standards of Atharva Veda. After analyzing the severity of the problems he advices the rituals of Atharva Veda Yaksha/Yakshini and Ugra devathas. According to Atharva Veda the great goddess Sri.Durgamatha has taken nine different forms to solve different kinds of problems. The days, time and the number of chanting will vary from person to person according to the planets’ position in their horoscope. First we will see about the nine various forms of Sri.Durga Matha. According to the Atharva Vedic scriptures the following are the Atharva Veda Yakshinis called as Durga Yakshinis. They are also called as Nava Durga. The rituals for this group of Yakshinis are called as Atharva Veda Nava Durga Yakshini Maha Pooja.

The first Yakshini of this group is Matha Shailaputri Yakshini.

The first of Goddess Maa Durga’s divine forms, amongst the nine, is Matha Shailaputri. She was classified as Shailaputri after being born in the house of the king of the mountains, Himalaya. In this mold the mother is seen holding a trident in her right hand and a lotus in her left and she is mounted on an ox. In the past life she was the daughter of Daksha, the son of Lord Brahma. She was known as Sati then. As the daughter of Daksha she was married to the God of Gods, Mahadeva (Lord Shiva). Daksha once arranged for a ceremony of the holy fire (Yagna), and chose not to invite his daughter and son-in-law. Sati was restless to join the ceremony at her father’s place and even defied her husband’s advice of not attending the Yagna without an invitation. On going uninvited to the ceremony, she felt that everyone was giving her a cold shoulder except her mother who greeted her with a hug. Her siblings too were no exception and were sarcastic in their remarks. The guests too present in the function were uttering disrespectful comments about her husband. To her surprise her father too was harsh and rude in his approach. She was dejected and was so heart broken that she burnt herself to ash in the holy fire. Shiva, on hearing this incident was enraged and ordered his followers to immediately demolish the Daksha Yagna. After burning herself to death, Sati was reborn as the daughter of the king of the mountains, Himalaya and became known as Shailaputri. Thus amongst all the nine forms of Devi Durga, Matha Shailaputri is the most powerful and glorified of all. Matha Shailaputri is also worshiped in the first day of the Navratri celebrations. . 2nd Yakshini of this group is Matha Brahmacharini

Durga’s second appearance is in the form of Matha Brahmacharini. Here "Brahma" means meditation. That is, the Goddess is the meditator or a practitioner of penance. Matha Brahmacharini is seen here holding a string of rosary beads in her right hand and a Kamandalu (an urn containing holy water) in her left hand. In her previous life, when she was reborn as the daughter of Himalaya, she performed severe penance to have Mahadeva (Lord Shiva) as her husband. The sage Narada advised her to take up meditation to win Lord Shiva. For undergoing strict meditation she was known as Brahmacharini or Tapasyacharini. Ignoring the beating sun and thundershowers, she began a three hundred year meditation living only leaves that fell on the forest floor. She furthered her penance making it even stricter by relinquishing food and water for another few hundred years. As Matha Brahmacharini gave up eating leaves Matha Brahmacharini is also referred to as "Aparna". Practicing this painstaking contemplation she became weak and skinny. Unable to withstand the plight of her daughter her mother, Manoka requested her to give up her resolution. Shocked at the sight of Durga she exclaimed "u" and "ma". (In Sanskrit 'u' is a word of address, and 'ma' means 'don't' or 'not wanted'). That is why Durga is also called "Uma". On the other hand overwhelmed by Durga’s devotion and perseverance, all the Gods and sages in the heaven were placated. At last, Grandfather Brahma, pleased with Devi’s austerities made an oracle, "O maiden! No one could achieve or endure the penance you have performed till date. I am captivated by your meditation and devotion. Your wish will be fulfilled and you will certainly have Lord Shiva as your husband. You may now return home and rest. Your father will come soon to take you". This form of Durga gives the devotees everlasting success. Worship of Matha Brahmacharini appearance enriches the faculties of sacrifice, honesty and self-discipline. In times of utter distress the worship of this form gives success and the willpower to come out victorious. This form of Maa Durga is also worshiped in the second day of the Durga Pooja.

I have counted and seen every fate for years,

Only one laughs while ten are in tears.

O! Speak Almighty God what is this Illusion,

Your Divine Play is all confusion and delusion.

The temptation is to use these powers for our own gain, for personal victory or revenge upon another. When we do so, however, the siddhis become snares, entangling us ever more deeply in our own self regard.

But when we realize that the Siddhis come to us only to the extent that we become Devi, that we realize they are actually Her powers
manifesting through us, and that we are Her too -- Her local ears and eyes and arms -- then the Siddhis cease to become snares, and instead became helpful friends and guides, directing us more deeply into Srichakra."

      So
www.adishakti.org proves that we are the Devi and Her powers are manifesting through us. Who heard me when i sang this song repeatedly 11 years ago?

O ek suki yaha lakoh mein.
Oh, only one in a hundred thousand is in bliss.

      Ansoo hai croroh ankhoh mein.
There are tears in tens of millions of eyes.

Hum neh gin gin har takdir dekhi.
I have counted and seen every fate for years,

Ek hasta hai dush rote hai
Only one laughs while ten are in tears.

Kuch bhol Prabhu yeh kya Maya
O! Speak Almighty God what is this Illusion,

Tera khel samaj meh nah aya
Your Divine Play is all confusion and delusion.

  • King O and his Court...Ha!

    • From: AmericanBorn
    • Description:

In an earlier time it was common for the King to become bored with having so much. He and his queen had all the money so buying something new - maybe $500 sneakers to wear among the poor - had lost its shine. Taking over smaller theifdoms, like car companies, banks, international trading companies, was passe', so easy it was not exciting. When there was no opposition to allowing the king to step to the helm of any company he wanted, he became bored. In an attempt to please himself and his queen, the king would look for other forms of entertainment. Attempting to show how superior he was to the general masses, he would bring in scholars from the area universities and have them feel good about being in the presense of the king and his queen. While the scholars were in his presence, the king would allow them to dine on the most expensive meats and treats available to humankind. The king and queen would also bring in poets to read their poetry proving how enlightened they, the royals, were to the scholars who were in attendance.

Jump forward in history to 2009. Open your local newspaper and read about the only king the United States has annointed. He and his queen are entertaining each week, bringing in select scholars from local Washington universities for snacking on 200 year old wine and $100 a pound beef - while enjoying the readings of poets on the White House lawn. Of course Queeny doesn't show up in her cheap sneakers for these events. Of course the reverse of diversity is part and parcel to determining who will be the poets and writers who's work is presented. Of course the exhaulted one presents himself and his queen as above those who would suggest he was just a man. He and his queen know better.

How is it that in this country, the greatest country in the history of the world, we allow the election of what is everything NOT American. How is it that after 100 days of watching this mongrel destroy what he can of capitalism and remove freedom through setting up abominable future taxation there is limited outcry? Don't those who are falling all over themselves in awe of this pair of chumps in the White House are setting the table for failure in only a few years? The short term improvements through outrageous spending that "will bring home the chickens to roost" are just a parrotting of President Peanut's failures. The only good that may come of it is President Peanut was a one-termer followed, thank God, by Ronald Reagan who provided the longest period of economic prosperity the country has ever seen. But I remember the period of President Peanut's years in office. His idiotic moves against capitalism are being tried again - relentlessly and in grander scale - because that was the mantra of the left at the time, that Carter didn't go far enough, didn't spend near enough and if he had it would have been better. Heck, even Billy Bob Clinton knew better and realized that during his terms in office.

So we have King Obama and Queen Michele and the mistrels in the whitehouse getting bored with taking things over.  Put yourself in King O's place. "I think I want to take over all the financial institutions in the country," he says and poof, "yahsuh, you be de man, you be the king of de bank suh," the congress bows and states to the king. "I'm bored again, and I like cars, I want to be in charge of the country's automobile business," the king says. "Yahsuh, you be de king of the cars suh," the congress says as they give 55% of the stock to the unions that only hold 10% of the bonds but put the king at the helm. "I wants to be the top doctor in the country, the largest part of the economy - the whole health care industry," the king says, "you da doctor suh, you da main doctor," the congress bows and gives him control. So now, even though he'll bow to a sultan, bend over and take it from any foreign enemy of his state from Iran to Cuba to Venezuela - publicly - he hates the country that his queen hates (even though he was made king by these subjects) and he is bored. So back to eating $100 a pound steak and drinking up the stores of 200 year old whitey wine for his and his sweetie's entertainment.

What next? Israel, take cover. This foreign born absconder to office won't back you - so when you, Israel, move to save the world as we know it by destroying Iran's nuclear capabilities, make your contingency plans so they do not include support from this mongrel king. Even though you are our sole bonified allie in the region, be sure King O looks at you like he looks at those who he intends to destroy here. His internal police force, Israel, you remember them better than anyone can, is already at work in this country. Our media doesn't care or is looking the other way while Rome burns. Or could they be complicit in hopes they will either be spared or be a part of history? Follow the money - and unfortunately a lot of that money isn't in US currency. More reason for concern.

Bring on the Jesters - wait, I think they are playing the White House - no, sorry, they are  a white band, won't be called for sure.

Keep your powder dry and your sack full of lead.
