Will The New Stimulus Package
- From: Speedy62269
-
Description:
The Bush stimulus plan didn’t do anything for our family. We took the $1,800 check and just deposited for our doubled Ameren bills happening now. So, in reality, the economy from our home was still just the same. And, what do these large corporations really do with any type of bailout funds? Answer: They go to exotic places and throw huge parties plus give their executives large bonuses. Listen up SUITS - you are scum!
Now, what about the Obama stimulus plan? Some want a 4% mortgage rate on a 30 year Fixed Rate Mortgage (FRM) – will this really help? Personally, I don’t think it will. The reason why people are not buying homes is because they have to sell their current one (at least break even) or they are very timid because of their UNSTABLE JOBS. Come on folks, the 30 yr FRM in our area (STL) was around 5% for weeks. Real estate contracts to purchase didn’t increase dramatically. So, how about stimulating the economy by passing the buck to the taxpayer and not in the form of $1,800, add another zero too it and you’ll see people go crazy. That’s why some are in trouble because they did go crazy thanks to lenders.
Finally; what do you think of Obama’s new plan to put a cap on executive salaries/bonuses? I really like it since the main reason why certain corporations are in trouble is because they dish out millions of dollars to the “SUITS” (those dudes doing absolutely nothing to generate revenues). So, let’s make the top pay of any company no more than that of the POTUS – this will stimulate the job market dramatically. Those making too much money will retire and then certain folks will be promoted to the $399K per year spot and the bottom level positions will be JOB OPENINGS!

Habitual Drunk Driver Kills Th
- From: Speedy62269

Description:
Yesterday morning at 1:40am an alleged drunk driver traveling the wrong way on I-255 (IL) plows head-on into a family of 4. A man, woman, and 9 year old boy were killed in the crash while the 11 year old daughter is still in critical condition. Why do I repeat such horrific news because I hate drunk drivers. The driver is being charged on 14 different counts.
If you drink and drive, and are reading this blog go seek help now before you become a killer like this 46 year old drunk. He supposedly was traveling the wrong way for up to 8 minutes which tells me he must have a somewhat cognizant of what he was doing. It is amazing how ignorant society is when it comes to alcohol and getting behind the wheel. I have attached the video from our OLD blogging site’s news station in hopes that we each can be thankful we were home that night.
Here’s the sad thing, this family was together at this time in this area because of the death of a grandmother. So, they were here for a funeral! (see video link below)

I have heard it from all sides. If you buy foreign then it’s your fault that all these Americans are being laid off. If you buy American then you are supporting the country and there are still layoffs. Ok, what is it going to be?
I want to hear from you guys on this issue. I’ve been very immature in my vehicle purchases until I woke up and realized ALL of them are a waste of money. You just have to minimize your wasteful spending to feel somewhat competent. I’ve had a few American made autos and most were boring, costly on expense, and low trade in value. After I started buying Honda – wow – the spunk never ended until I dumped my Honda for a Nissan.
So, what do you drive and why?

I know in my home area it could never happen but as mentioned on another blogsite - some homeless individuals are well known (repeat beggers) therefore seeing someone laying down in public isn't abnormal So, let me hear from the blogging community.

Speedy Review: Cirque du Sole
- From: Speedy62269
-
Description:
Hello fellow bloggers from all areas! My reviews are of recent events in the St. Louis Missouri venue. Last month it was “Larry the Cable Guy” and Tony LaRussa’s ARF Concert "Stars to the Rescue" – both excellent events. This past Saturday afternoon we went to St. Charles Missouri to the Family Arena to see the Cirque.
Yes, many of us called it Circus “duh” So Lay but it is really Cirque du Soleil. This was the fifth time we’ve seen this group and the performance was called Saltimbanco. They wore clown-like makeup and did a variety of maneuvers not yet seen by our family. Not only are these individuals in tip-top shape but they make you cringe each time you see a feat completed only in your dreams. LOL – I sincerely mean that. Their band was excellent too.
The eight of us concluded that Delirium was still the best show with a lot more performers. But, with the nosebleed seats being around $32 and we moved down to the $69 seats since no one bought those – we had a great view. The seats on the floor were overpriced at $90 but I guess they need to pay these “near 0” body fat individuals something. Great show and if you were there please let me hear from you. If not, I wanna hear from you anyway.

Super Bowl Porn in Tuscon Ariz
- From: Speedy62269
-
Description:
(CNN) -- Super Bowl fans in Tucson, Arizona, caught a different kind of show during Sunday's big game.
Just as Cardinals' superstar Larry Fitzgerald watched himself sprint into the end zone on the stadium's Jumbotron during Sunday's Super Bowl, 10 seconds of eye-popping pornographic imagery "flashed" across the screens of those watching at home.
"We are mortified by last evening's Super Bowl interruption, and deeply apologize to our customers for the inappropriate programming," Comcast Cable said in a written statement.
"Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act," the statement added.
Comcast, and several local television stations that carried the signal, say they are currently investigating what caused the interruption.
"It appears this material was only viewed by some Comcast customers," local Tucson television station KVOA-TV said in a written statement.
Television station KVOA added "when the NBC feed of the Super Bowl was transmitted from KVOA to local cable providers and through over-the-air antennas, there was no pornographic material," KVOA President and General Manager Gary Nielsen said in a separate statement.
I say - GREAT! It broke the nail biting going on at my home and plus I'd already switched to watching COPS so I'll have to check out the TiVo. Ooops, I am not with Comcast in Tuscon, Arizona though - guess we'll have to go to myfoxphoenix.com for a clip? What do you guys think? - Blog post

Domesticated Chimp attacks Own
- From: Speedy62269
-
Description:
End result: Travis, a “pet” chimp mutilated the face and hands of his owner’s friend. News reports are saying a variety reasons but the final one that I have heard is, “The chimp did not recognize this person so it attacked her”.
Reality: You do NOT have a pet monkey/chimp in your home – at all. Why? These near genetically profiled humans are NOT human! They have strength sometimes compared to 5-7 times that of an average adult male (human). These animals (aka: Hominidae family) belong in circuses and zoos not homes.
Sympathy: I feel very sorry for the victim in this situation because of the life altering changes that have happened and what the future will bring. My assumption is the chimp’s owner feels very bad for her friend and probably guilty to some extent.
Let me hear from my fellow bloggers on this issue. Do you feel this owner is somewhat a whack-job for housing a beast, allegedly serving it Xanax-laced tea the day of the attack, or letting it sleep in the same bed with her.

Small southwest Missouri village passes ordinance allowing medical marijuana
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A small southwest Missouri village has passed an ordinance allowing the use of medical marijuana.
Mayor Joe Blundell says Cliff Village, with a population of about four dozen people, is showing grass-roots support for Missouri to legalize medical marijuana.
Cliff Village's ordinance allows someone with a doctor's approval to possess a few ounces of marijuana and grow a few plants.
Columbia passed a similar ordinance in 2004.
Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland, whose deputies patrol Cliff Village, tells The Kansas City Star that he will continue to follow state law that says it's illegal to possess or grow or distribute marijuana.
Blundell says his interest in medical marijuana comes from a painful past injury from a train accident that left him in a wheelchair.

When warnings are ignored...
- From: Joanne_Feldman
-
Description:
I just received a report from NOAA this morning that highlights an interesting problem in the world of meteorology and forecasting. How do you get people to heed the severe weather warnings that have been issued? Basically, you can't make anyone do something they don't want to - but why would you ignore a threat to your personal safety?
NOAA conducted research in the wake of the "Super Tuesday" outbreak of tornadoes last year (it turned out to be the 2nd deadliest tornado outbreak in U.S. history). They used an assessment team to find out why people did not protect themselves even though there was an average of 17 minutes warning on each tornado and the threat had been well-publicized for a few days leading up to the event. What they found was that in nearly 60 percent of the cases, people simply didn't have adequate shelter. Most of the victims were in mobile homes. They also found an "it won't happen to ME" attitude among some of the victims. Others just didn't take the threat as seriously as they would have if it had happened during what they considered to be the "normal" tornado season in Spring instead of early February.
This draws great attention the fact that simply issuing a forecast isn't really enough. How do we make sure to adequately prepare people for impending severe weather without crying wolf? Too many false alarms can certainly give people a false sense of security. Not being proactive enough leaves the forecaster to blame for not warning the public. I'm not sure that there is one, clear-cut answer to these issues, but they are worth thinking about and discussing.
I welcome your input!

Young Stars in Trouble ... or
- From: Speedy62269

Description:
You’ve seen various clips on Jessica Simpson and her alleged weight gain. Is this really news? Most of you read my New Years Resolution and I am proud to say I am still on track to complete my goals. (Will list if need be). So, does this somewhat dingy blonde beauty deserve the right for her physique to change a bit, yes. The only thing I have against this 28 year old hottie is that she still hasn’t returned my PHONE CALLS!
Britney Spears has been in the news since the Mickey Mouse Club. She was hot, HOT years ago then married a loser, had 2 too many kids (she’s immature that's why), and she drives about as bad as Lindsay Lohan. Now, Britney at age 27, is making a comeback both with her music/dancing and her body. There are various clips of her with her “new” abs. I got breaking news for you – those abs have always been hers and the new look comes from hard work and great doctors.
Michael Phelps – what a story. This 23 year old swam better than anyone in Bejing - even against the 14year old Chinese boys – he still won! Most recently, he’s been photographed puffing on a bong! Is this really news? I would say it’s safe to assume he did not compete the following day (or week) because a blood test would have found “Mary Jane” in his system. Weren’t some of us like him at his young age? I WAS, except the only difference was I sank in the water and didn’t have 14 gold medals!
Lastly; I know you think I am crazy for submitting such a blog but for those of you who know me from St. Louis – this is my style (or lack thereof). Miley Cyrus, only 16 years of age and a huge star mainly among younger fans, obviously needs some parental guidance. She has been photographed in some close to “naked” photos and other questionable behavior. What in the heck do you expect from a 16 year old? LOL – come on – when I was 16 I was concerned about popping my zits, cruising in my parents 4 door Plymouth Fury, and whose lawn I had to cut the following day to pay for gas! Ms Cyrus was seen with friends (per news media) pulling back her eyelids – pulling a pun against Asians. Is this news? Should it be allowed – I say, hey, we are in America and have our choices to make and we usually learn by that one word we hate to hear – MISTAKES.

Bank Executives
- From: chick75
-
Description:
It is so sad an actually criminal and unethical for the banks to abuse the money of the American taxpayers. They should not be allowed to buy jets, go to upscale spas, pay huge executive bonuses on the taxpayer. I feel that the government is well within their right to grill and bring the big money bankers to Capital Hill to testify and bring them into account to the people who made the loan to them. I detest the arrogance of the the big bankers on Wall Street with their obsessive greed and disrespect for the American taxpayer. The truth of the matter is the big bankers on Wall Street have our money (the American Taxpayers) and our government which works for us has every right to question the big bankers lack of judgement over funds that do not really belong to them. While they are getting big bonuses and living it up in places that some people will never be able to go to they need to "Show Us The Money", because it is ours. In my opinion what we have in America is "Billions for the Bankers" and Big Debts for the People. You might not be aware but there is a book with this title. We are living it everyday and the banks do not want to help correct the mess they made with their obsessive GREED. We (taxpayers) need to call in the banks and demand 100% transparency on what they are doing with our money. We need to see a list of how many customers in foreclosure they have really helped since they got the money. (I hope you watched Rep. Maxine Waters dilemma on Nightline as she demonstrated just how hard it is to talk to someone at one of these big banks when a customer wants to renegotiate their home mortgage loans. I want to submit the question __When will Americans make the big Wall Street bankers open up the kimono and tell the truth about how they are abusing the money they received from Jack and Jill Public taxpayer. I see it very clearly, the banks simply want to see America fold. We should all go and get every dime of the monetary funds we have in these banks and let them survive without our money.

Do Cops get a bum rap.....??
- From: mr_wild

Why are Cops Associated With Donuts.....??
"Do cops really like donuts?"
"As far as I can tell, almost everyone likes donuts! You always hear stories about seeing cops at the donut shop and it is a typical stereotype about police officers. I think the stories about cops and donuts comes from the fact that police officers work odd hours when most restaurants and stores are closed. In past years, the donut shops were all that were open at night. When an officer wanted to stop for a break, coffee and donuts were convenient. Since we are available for calls at all times, we may have to run off in a moment's notice. If you have several squads working an area and only one place is open, you are bound to see several officers there throughout the night. The donut shops are almost all gone now. Donuts have been replace with the bagel and there are not many all night donut shops open anymore. I wonder what the next stereotype will be? I've never heard the question "Do cops really like bagels?"
Above is an article I read after googling cops and donuts....... I thought of this after I observed a cop returning his donuts to a gas station and complaining of the quality of the donuts........ It gave me a needed chuckle (in private) and got me wondering why we stero type cops and donuts.....
Can you think of other professions that's stero typed?

GDOT BOARD OUSTS COMMISSIONER:
- From: jennyh0617
-
Description:
I recently wrote a blog about what I think about Governor Perdue's proposing joining other Republican Govenor's in NOT accepting certain portions of the stimulus. However, I am glad he is just as insensed about the firing of the Commissioner of GDOT, as I am. After all, she was instrumental in discovering the most likely "intentional" practice by GDOT administrators of not entering contract allocation of resources on the computer data bases, to cover the shortfall that befell the department. First, this discovery should be investigated for intent to defraud tax payers and cover-up the trail of misappropriation of money, intentional abuse of power to hide the deception from auditors, and corruption. Ms. Evans should be applauded, and commended by all of us, because she uncovered what could have been further misallocation of resources, costing the tax payers untold billions of dollars in the future. She had a tenacity to not only perform an audit, but she got personally involved in the audit which lead to her finding the room with the stacks and stacks of contracts yet to be entered opn the computer, which would have set off bells and whistles, to alert state officials and auditors. The question I have is, how many other departments have engaged in this same behavior, to stagger the entering of data, just to facilitate the spending of money that is not in the budget. Yet, I go back to the original point in my blog of how this happened. There was no doubt in my mind that no fewer than twenty employees (not counting department heads, and managers) that knew about it, knew it was wrong, and did nothing, because of the fact that civil servants are no longer protected from being fired without cause, and no employee in their right mind is going to call the Office of the Inspector general, because of that lack of protection. I am a police officer, and if I bring a complaint to anyone outside my agency, and report wrongdoing, I KNOW I will be fired. So, who is going to risk losing their job, when the state thinks so little of their employees, by allowing employees to be fired without cause. That is the rude awakening I think to the down side state laegislators and the governors did not think of, when they made Georgia an "at will state". Because, it is for this such reason that the board is going to get away with terminating this commisioner, who every Georgian owes a debt of gratitude.
It is my belief that the timing of this termination is suspect, since she would hold her department accountable, and monitor the allocation of the stimulus dollars in such a way that would have threatened the stronghold the GDOT board has on this department and the use of this money in a partisan way, to benefit board members, and their pet projects. In fact, there should be an investigation to determine if there is a connection with certain board members, and the "intentional" obstruction of acounting documentation of the contracts that were not entered, which hid the abuse of overspending, and the stealing of tax payer money, which was mostly responsible for the shortfall in our budget.
I am proposing two things:
First, calling on every Georgian to bombard the board with complaints, and targeting those board members that voted for her termination, to possibly be recalled, investigated, and petitioned for removal by those board members contituents.
Second: Every Georgian should now call, write, and petition their legislators to repeal Georgia as an "at will state" which will lift the obstacle that deter career public servants from coming forward when they have knowledge of this type of abuse and criminal behavior. How can we as tax payers expect someone to come forward with complaints, when there is no protection for them from termination. Oh, and if you enterject that the whistle blower law allows someone to come forward, without fear of retaliation, that law is a joke. I was told by the OIG that if someone comes forward, it only keeps their name confidential. It doesn't help the person if the complaint is so specific, that a person or a department knows where the information came from, and this in turn results in an investigation to determine who sprung the leak. You can still be terminated because of this "at will status" of our employment laws, and then wait 5 years while you duke it out in court to get your job back. Removing the "at will status" of our state's employment laws provides an obstacle from being fired for no reason, personality conflicts, and serious reasons of excessive honesty that certain employers find offensive, and an impedimant for corruption, and abuse of power. Think about the Peanut Corporation of America as well. This type of unfettered criminal bevhavior would still be going on today, if it weren't for the deaths of non-Georgians, where agencies from other states had to blow the whistle in order to precipatate national attention, that costs this state in money, and in loss of trust for the products of our state.
If you are a tax payer, you should see that the "at will status" of our employment laws is primarily connected to these instances of abuses, and to repeal these laws is to once again return the checks and balances to expose corruption, waste and unlawful behavior that is so lacking in our public and private sectors.
JOIN ME IN THE FIGHT TO TAKE OUR STATE BACK..." OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE" DO THESE WORDS SOUND FAMILIAR? Well, if they don't, it is because the U.S. Constitution is not honored nor enforced in this state
