KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A small southwest Missouri village has passed an ordinance allowing the use of medical marijuana.
Mayor Joe Blundell says Cliff Village, with a population of about four dozen people, is showing grass-roots support for Missouri to legalize medical marijuana.
Cliff Village's ordinance allows someone with a doctor's approval to possess a few ounces of marijuana and grow a few plants.
Columbia passed a similar ordinance in 2004.
Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland, whose deputies patrol Cliff Village, tells The Kansas City Star that he will continue to follow state law that says it's illegal to possess or grow or distribute marijuana.
Blundell says his interest in medical marijuana comes from a painful past injury from a train accident that left him in a wheelchair.

ARRESTS of Dr. Commander Selva

Annamalai Annamalai, who goes by the rather funny and misleading titles such as Dr Commander Selvam Siddhar Swamiji Maharishi Sri Sri and others, was arrested and thrown in jail (Gwinnett County Detention Center) by Gwinnett County Police Department on October 30, 2008. Authorities showed up outside his home and office with the arrest and search warrants on October 29th, but he evaded arrest for 1 full day before surrendering to police on October 30. He was arrested, booked, mugshot, finger-printed and jailed on October 30. He has been let out on bail after he posted a surety bond of $121,400.00. He was arrested on two felony counts of 'THEFT BY TAKING' and 'PRACTICE OF MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE'.
On Apr 21 2009, Annamalai was arrested AGAIN on two more felony counts. GCPD took out 2 warrants for his arrest on 04/20/2009, and arrested him on 04/21/2009 on 2 felony counts related to CREDIT CARD FRAUD. He was booked at the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 3 pm. After spending 5 hours behind bars at the jail, Annamalai bailed out at 8 pm. He posted a surety bond of $22400. Annamalai paid an additional bond amount of $20,000 because he committed the same offenses for which he was arrested earlier ... old habits die hard.
You should know that Annamalai Annamalai faced two felony counts of CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE for molesting a child (a girl under the age of 15) in Arizona in 2003. Annamalai also allegedly stole furniture from a Gwinnett furniture store in 2006. The furniture store filed suit but Annamalai escaped because he was successful in not leaving a trail.
Annamalai's chief priest Lakshmanan Viswanathan (aka LV SHARMA) was arrested on September 10, 2008 on 1 felony count of FALSE STATEMENTS to Gwinnett County Sheriffs' Department. Lakshmanan Viswanathan was released on bail from the Gwinnett County Detention Center after he posted a bond of $5,700.00.
Better Business Bureau investigated several charges and downgraded the rating of this business (Hindu Temple of Georgia) to C-. Now, what about the Obama stimulus plan? Some want a 4% mortgage rate on a 30 year Fixed Rate Mortgage (FRM) – will this really help? Personally, I don’t think it will. The reason why people are not buying homes is because they have to sell their current one (at least break even) or they are very timid because of their UNSTABLE JOBS. Come on folks, the 30 yr FRM in our area (STL) was around 5% for weeks. Real estate contracts to purchase didn’t increase dramatically. So, how about stimulating the economy by passing the buck to the taxpayer and not in the form of $1,800, add another zero too it and you’ll see people go crazy. That’s why some are in trouble because they did go crazy thanks to lenders.
Finally; what do you think of Obama’s new plan to put a cap on executive salaries/bonuses? I really like it since the main reason why certain corporations are in trouble is because they dish out millions of dollars to the “SUITS” (those dudes doing absolutely nothing to generate revenues). So, let’s make the top pay of any company no more than that of the POTUS – this will stimulate the job market dramatically. Those making too much money will retire and then certain folks will be promoted to the $399K per year spot and the bottom level positions will be JOB OPENINGS!

Yesterday morning at 1:40am an alleged drunk driver traveling the wrong way on I-255 (IL) plows head-on into a family of 4. A man, woman, and 9 year old boy were killed in the crash while the 11 year old daughter is still in critical condition. Why do I repeat such horrific news because I hate drunk drivers. The driver is being charged on 14 different counts.
If you drink and drive, and are reading this blog go seek help now before you become a killer like this 46 year old drunk. He supposedly was traveling the wrong way for up to 8 minutes which tells me he must have a somewhat cognizant of what he was doing. It is amazing how ignorant society is when it comes to alcohol and getting behind the wheel. I have attached the video from our OLD blogging site’s news station in hopes that we each can be thankful we were home that night.
Here’s the sad thing, this family was together at this time in this area because of the death of a grandmother. So, they were here for a funeral! (see video link below)

Hello fellow bloggers from all areas! My reviews are of recent events in the St. Louis Missouri venue. Last month it was “Larry the Cable Guy” and Tony LaRussa’s ARF Concert "Stars to the Rescue" – both excellent events. This past Saturday afternoon we went to St. Charles Missouri to the Family Arena to see the Cirque.
Yes, many of us called it Circus “duh” So Lay but it is really Cirque du Soleil. This was the fifth time we’ve seen this group and the performance was called Saltimbanco. They wore clown-like makeup and did a variety of maneuvers not yet seen by our family. Not only are these individuals in tip-top shape but they make you cringe each time you see a feat completed only in your dreams. LOL – I sincerely mean that. Their band was excellent too.
The eight of us concluded that Delirium was still the best show with a lot more performers. But, with the nosebleed seats being around $32 and we moved down to the $69 seats since no one bought those – we had a great view. The seats on the floor were overpriced at $90 but I guess they need to pay these “near 0” body fat individuals something. Great show and if you were there please let me hear from you. If not, I wanna hear from you anyway.

Recently, we sent you an action alert about Extended Benefits in your state. Thanks to those of you who responded, we made some great progress, as described below. But, we’re contacting you to take action again.
Many Georgians, as you might know, are set to run out of their Tier II Emergency Unemployment Compensation. The stimulus bill gave Georgia and other high unemployment states the option of providing a 100% federally funded extension of the extension, through a separate program known as Extended Benefits (EB). But, Georgia is one of a dozen states that does not have the needed law in place to get the benefits flowing.
On the bright side, Georgia House Bill 581 makes the necessary change (known as the optional EB trigger) to get those benefits. http://www.legis.ga.gov/legis/2009_10/fulltext/hb581.htm
The bill would amend Georgia law to adopt the optional trigger for Federal Extended Benefits (EB). This would enable Georgia to take advantage of 100% federal funding for EB benefits as outlined the stimulus bill (in Section 2005 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act). 41,000 Georgians are counting on HB 581 to provide extra support, as they are going to exhaust all their rights to emergency unemployment compensation over the next 3 weeks.
There was a major problem with the bill that we noted in our last action alert. It delays Extended Benefits until July 1st. That means a 3 month delay in this crucial assistance that will certainly cost some Georgians their homes and stability--and largely defeats the purpose of adopting EB reforms now.
On Monday, thanks to pressure from Georgians like yourselves who took action, the Senate voted to make Extended Benefits available starting May 25th. While not immediate, this start-date is a great deal better than the initial proposal.
However, there remains concern that the Department of Labor and the Georgia House of Representatives will push for keeping the July 1st Extended Benefits date in HB 581. In order to prevent over 41,000 Georgians from having to wait for these benefits, we urge you to call the Department of Labor and your Representative and call on them to pay benefits as soon as possible.- Contact your Representative by clicking http://www.nelp.org/page/speakout/gaeb

Just as Cardinals' superstar Larry Fitzgerald watched himself sprint into the end zone on the stadium's Jumbotron during Sunday's Super Bowl, 10 seconds of eye-popping pornographic imagery "flashed" across the screens of those watching at home.
"We are mortified by last evening's Super Bowl interruption, and deeply apologize to our customers for the inappropriate programming," Comcast Cable said in a written statement.
"Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act," the statement added.
Comcast, and several local television stations that carried the signal, say they are currently investigating what caused the interruption.
"It appears this material was only viewed by some Comcast customers," local Tucson television station KVOA-TV said in a written statement.
Television station KVOA added "when the NBC feed of the Super Bowl was transmitted from KVOA to local cable providers and through over-the-air antennas, there was no pornographic material," KVOA President and General Manager Gary Nielsen said in a separate statement.

13-20 Weeks Federally-Funded Extension of Benefits Available in Stimulus
for High-Unemployment States
Washington, DC – New
analysisreleased today by the National Employment Law Project
revealed that 567,000 jobless Americans will exhaust their federal unemployment benefits in the
coming weeks if their states do not authorize a temporary extension of benefits provided for in the
federal economic recovery package. Available to all states with unemployed rates above 6.5%,
the Extended Benefits program would provide an additional 13-20 weeks of benefits to workers
who have already used up their Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) benefits. Of the
states whose unemployment rates are high enough to trigger the extensions – which are now
being funded 100% by the federal government under the stimulus bill – only about half have
passed the necessary authorization to receive the funds.
“Over half a million jobless workers will run out of unemployment benefits in March and April if
their states do not act now,” said
Christine Owens, Executive Director of the National
Employment Law Project.
“The Extended Benefits program is a straightforward, federallyfunded
extension to continue benefits for workers in high-unemployment states who have already
run out of emergency unemployment compensation. These benefits would come to very longterm
unemployed workers who still can’t find work after receiving all of their EUC benefits. This is
the only provision in the stimulus bill that addresses the needs of these long-term jobless
workers, and states should not overlook it,” Owens stated.
The Extended Benefits program, started in the 1970s, pays extended benefits in high
unemployment states and allows states different options for tapping into the program. One option
is for states to provide these benefits once their unemployment level exceeds 6.5% over a threemonth
period. While the cost for paying these extended benefits would normally be split 50-50
between states and the federal government, under the American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act, the extended benefit is fully federal-funded through 2009. Only a fraction of states, however,
have adopted the 6.5% trigger provision.
•
States that have yet to act to receive Extended Benefits: Approximately 567,000
workers would qualify for Extended Benefits after exhausting their EUC benefits if 14
high-unemployment states, as well as the Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia,
adopted the 6.5% unemployment rate trigger. As of March 19
th, those states are:
Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts,
Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Ohio, and Tennessee.
•
States that have yet to act to get 20 weeks Extended Benefits: In places where the
unemployment rate exceeds 8% – Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, Puerto Rico, and South
Carolina – workers will be entitled to an additional 7 weeks of extended benefits if their
states authorize the trigger, affecting approximately 132,000 workers.
•
States that already qualify for 13 weeks Extended Benefits: Sixteen states and
Puerto Rico already qualify for the Extended Benefits program under one of the
program’s provisions: Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Alaska, Connecticut, Minnesota, North
Carolina, and Washington qualify for 13 weeks of benefits. Oregon and Rhode Island
already qualify for 20 weeks of extended benefits. As a result, about 405,000 workers in
those states will qualify for extended benefits when their EUC benefits expire between
now and June.
•
Who benefits: A total of nearly 1 million workers – over 970,000 – who will run out of
federal emergency extensions (EUC) by June will qualify for an extension of jobless
benefits under the extended benefits program if all states enact it.
•
The urgency to act: In all high-unemployment states, the federally-funded extended
benefits will be available to all private sector workers – 95% of the unemployment
insurance case load – who exhaust EUC and begin their extended benefits in 2009.
States have the option to sunset the legislation in late 2009, after which the 100% federal
funding provision expires.
“Many states have overlooked this unique chance to help long term jobless workers and funnel
more federal stimulus into their economies. They need to act now because time is of the essence:
thousands of workers will run out of jobless benefits in a matter of weeks. It would be a shame –
and devastating for thousands of workers – if states sit on their hands,” Owens concluded.

Concise Guide to Assistance for Jobless Workers in the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
Introduction
Congress recently passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
The U.S. economy has now been officially declared “in recession” since December 2007. Over 3.6 million jobs were lost in 2008, and those job losses are continuing each day. New unemployment insurance claims have doubled from 333,000 a week in January 2008 to 638,000 by February 2009. At the same time, continued unemployment insurance (UI) claims rose from 2.7 million in the first month of 2008 to 5 million in February 2009. Growing levels of long-term unemployment and UI claims exhaustions are expected throughout 2009. With thousands exhausting their benefits each week, providing assistance to these individuals and their families is critical.
ARRA contains some key measures to assist jobless workers who have exhausted state UI benefits.
ARRA makes the permanently authorized Extended Benefits (EB) program a 100 percent federally-funded program until December 31, 2009. Normally, EB is paid 50 percent by federal funds and 50 percent from state UI trust funds. (Again, we would expect this deadline to get extended beyond December 31, 2009.) Some states have already triggered on EB as unemployment has risen and workers in those states will get EB benefits after they exhaust EUC benefits.
Other states need to adopt a different EB “trigger” so that workers losing EUC can get added extensions under EB. This state action is explained in more detail below.
Are There Additional Actions States Can Take under ARRA to Help Long-Term Jobless Workers? States have a new option to help those exhausting EUC benefits in their states because EB is now fully federally financed. Under existing federal law, states can use a Total Unemployment Rate (TUR) trigger to turn on EB in their states. Although this 6.5 percent TUR trigger is the best available option for EB triggers under current law, only 11 states have adopted TUR triggers. Of these, six (Alaska, Connecticut, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington) have triggered on to EB. As a result, workers in these TUR trigger states are getting an added 13 weeks of EB benefits after they exhaust EUC benefits. Another advantage of TUR triggers is that once unemployment exceeds 8 percent in a state, workers get 7 added weeks of EB, for a total of 20 weeks of EB benefits. All these weeks of EB will come after EUC is exhausted, if workers remain out of work, seek work, and remain otherwise eligible.
In addition to fully implementing UI modernization, states that don’t have the TUR trigger should amend their state UI laws to include this option. In particular, workers exhausting EUC in California, D.C., Michigan, Nevada, Puerto Rico, and South Carolina could now get a full 20 weeks of federally financed EB benefits after exhausting EUC, if these states with TURs over 8.0 percent adopted TUR triggers. Meanwhile, long-term jobless workers in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Tennessee, and Virgin Islands would now get 13 weeks of EB if their states had a TUR trigger.
Why is Unemployment Insurance Modernization Part of ARRA? UI “modernization” was included as part of ARRA because many states, including Louisiana, Mississippi, South Dakota, Texas, and others currently pay UI benefits to less than 30 out of 100 of their jobless workers. Overly strict state UI eligibility rules leave these states’ UI programs too stingy to help many jobless workers. This in turn is undercutting important national economic stimulus goals for UI. So, ARRA provides these states with a “carrot” to improve UI eligibility through UI modernization while rewarding states that already have better features in their UI laws. This will modestly increase the numbers of jobless workers getting UI benefits while improving the equity of state UI programs.
How Do States Qualify for Modernization Payments? Five states (Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, and Washington) already have state UI laws that meet or exceed the modernization requirements in ARRA. These 5 states will receive their full portions of the overall $7 billion federal incentive payments in the near future (ranging from $39 million in New Mexico to $412.7 million for New York). (As with all states, they must apply for the modernization payments with the Secretary of Labor and show they have the required modernization elements in their laws.) The remaining states have options concerning which UI modernization elements found in ARRA they want to adopt in order to get their UI modernization funds. - Blog post

Paradise Valley Resort and Club, 49 Valley Dr, Dawsonville, Georgia was one of the clubs sponsoring the American Association for Nude Recreation (aanr) World Record for the largest number of people simultaneously skinny dipping across North America. Paradise Valley had Three Hundred Fifty Seven (357) individuals skinny dip in their 3 swimming pools at exactly 3PM on Saturday. There were 147 clubs participating and at least 7 public beaches where clothing optional or nude swimming is authorized throughout North America.
The individuals attending Paradise Valley advised it was good, clean fun and they had a great time. Almost two dozen of them had never, ever been nude in public before and were naturally nervous at arrival, but were committed to joining this World Record attempt. They advised that the management, members and staff at Paradise Valley made them feel welcome and comfortable as they entered this new adventure.
When they first walked into the swimming pool area, they found over 200 people already there, all in their birthday suits. However, they were assured that the resort is clothing optional, which means they could wear as much, or as little as they wished, except for the actual record event for which they would have to be nude, in order to be counted. If they preferred, they could enter the water in swim suits, then remove the suit and hold it overhead for the event. They could then put the suit back on before leaving the water.
Most arrived with plenty of time to spare, and found it much easier then they thought to become accustom to meeting and speaking with nude people. They were pleased to find the nudists to be kind, considerate, helpful and welcoming.
The butterflies quickly vanished, and they found themselves having a lot of fun.
As the time of the Record event approached, announcements were made, advising that even though Guinness World Records requires Photographic proof of all records, it is Paradise Valley and AANR policy that no one ever has to be photographed nude, therefore an announcement would be made before any photograph was taken and they could either leave the area or turn around so they could not be seen in the picture.
The announcement was made several times, but everyone chose to stay in the water for the photograph, in addition only a couple turned their backs. Everyone else took the position they were setting a World Record, and they wanted to be a full part of the record. Arms were raised in celebration at the time the photographs were taken.
Two other Georgia Nudist and/or Clothing Optional resorts participated in the World Record Skinny Dip and we will report their numbers within the next few days. The other clubs are Serendipity Park, 95 Cedar Hollow Drive Cleveland, GA 30528 and Bell Acres Resort 158 Bell Acres Rd. Maysville, GA 30558
In light of the fact that Guinness created this category at the request of AANR, the American Association for Nude Recreation will soon have the World Record, once the claim forms are completed, submitted to Guinness and Guinness has an opportunity to confirm their guidelines were followed.
AANR and Paradise Valley Resort and Club thank all the participants that came out and Skinny Dipped. All participants were awarded Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of AANR and Paradise Valley Resort, for this record setting event. Everyone agreed it really was all about good, clean fun.

The husband is permitted to have (4 wives) and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion.
The Shariah Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman.
In the Western World (America) Muslim men are starting to demand Shariah Law so the wife can not obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her. It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Shariah law.
By passing this on, enlightened American women may avoid becoming a slave under Shariah Law.

Ripping the West in Two.
Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Shariah law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two.
She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.
Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before emigrating to America in 1978, When she was eight years old, her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel He was a high- ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza .
When he died, he was considered a "shahid," a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.
But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television.
In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping sharia law - what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries.
For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed.
In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President! I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!
